Spring Anime 2016 |OT2| Justice is Over!

I started watching it, only to realize that I accidentally started on episode 12 and then went on to episode 1. After realizing my mistake I thought that the advancement in story between the first and last episode was miniscule and made the rest of the show probably not worth watching.

Doesn't really sound like a story anime though

[Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb] - 06

I'm going to cry when I watch Sae & Hiro graduation right? Just the Hiro-san part of this episode got me in a sentimental mode.

Good, now I have the last episode of Tamayura to make me cry too.
Make this last season last! ;__;

That was like, half of the 'humor' in the show. If there's one thing that sums up this anime, it's mean-spirited. Machi is constantly forced to do humiliating things against her own will, and when she screws up and breaks down the show expects us to laugh at it. In the end she's
regressed back into a child-like state while refusing to leave the village, and the show presents this as a great happy ending. What's so happy about it? The assholes of the show win, basically.

What an absolute waste of a fun premise. I guess Polar Bear's Cafe just set my standards for talking bear anime too high.
Yea I didn't get very many laughs out of this show. Just spent most of it feeling bad for Machi.

the way down is literally just the service road on the back side of the mountain that doesn't look as pretty. we passed like 4 roadcrawlers on the way down

By the way, if you're considering Fuji, the way down is much much more taxing on your knees than the way up. And bring a good hat; there's no shade whatsoever on the way down.
You know, can you just pay for a trip up without the climbing? Or is that basically not allowed to prevent it from being a pure tourist trap?

Yeah. And esp happy its in better than SD. Still bloody annoyed that Tamayura finally got licensed and its bloody DVD only. Same with Chihayafuru.

I bet that's what happens with Hyouka too.
Oh right, I forgot Rightstuf picked it up. I mean, they still have like the second season to do, but yeah they'll never do this in HD. I assume only Gundam and Utena will get that treatment.

Whoever was the director or writer of the Bear Miko ought to be blacklisted so future adaptations or whatever get the lowest ratings and then he'll stop getting work.

If they do it on the reg they don't advertise it.

I wouldn't recommend it anyway. Getting to the summit of a mountain is cool, but it's only really amazing because you've been fucking struggling up the side of it for however long. Otherwise you might as well have taken the elevator up Skytree or something.

Hah, I suppose so. Although I probably wouldn't mind taking a car up and down because why not. lol

The writer fucked off of twiiter because he can't handle taking responsibility for his mistakes

To be fair, I read it. Certain aspects certainly became worse.

I didn't even know that happened until I saw the reddit post, which also had the author's lone comment that got deleted from his blog as well.

was the adaptation so bad or was there a massive backlash? There are far far worst anime shows out there. Seems like there has to be something else going on for people to be wanting to distance themselves so badly from this.

Can you link the reddit post?

I dunno, like I said, it's almost shocking to write an ending that basically goes against the anime convention of girl learns life lessons by the end of the series that I can see someone trying to go for that to comment on the nature of those types of shows.

And I say that as a person who basically only watches anime featuring girls who learn life lessons. lol

Adaptation.

And it doesn't matter if there's worse shows out there. That ending was horrible, made worse given the overall mean spirited jokes in the show.

The problem that made the scriptwriter wipe his online info wasn't so much that he wrote something that made viewers mad as much as he wrote something that made the original manga author mad. I imagine that created some embarassing problems in business relationships.

I can't pretend to know what the anime writer was thinking - I've seen people speculate that he was deliberately trying to stick it to the manga author - but I think the fact that there was a steady pattern of abuse played for humor throughout the show weakens whatever message he may have been trying to get across.

What about Yamato?
Well, it was about Melda learning to be a princess and falling in love with a human woman she can never see again so... same thing.

I guess I don't know anything about the show so I have no idea... and I don't know if even this is enough to get me to want to watch the show. But, for whatever reason, it sort of has the sting of Aku no Hana or something in terms of just being "anti-anime".

It was better than anime ought to be so he's slotted it into the "white people tv" part of his mind.
lulz~

It was a shitty godzilla film when it stars Kick-Ass as generic soldier no one cares about instead of god damn Godzilla.

Not even the sweet battle scene makes up for them trying to make me care about his family.

I'll admit the film had its issues and generic soldier isn't one of the better Godzilla human characters.

But Cranston did hit his role out of the park though, Watanabe at least had some meme worthy moments and overall it was a good kaiju movie, it's sense of scale was just right and the weight of the monsters were spot on.

Though I will admit I wanted 1984 bastard Godzilla instead of 1973 kickboxer Godzilla. It was very much a Showa influenced Godzilla film.

Let's focus less on paying money to blacklist people from the industry and paying money to get good people back into the industry.

Someone get Imagawa to make a Kickstarter for Shin Great Mazinger already.

shit, I have to rewatch Yamato with my goggles on this time

/edit godzilla sucked when it was following generic soldier protag and fucking rocked when it was just cinematography porn about how fucking huge godzilla was. That shot where everyone's screaming in the airport and godzilla's foot just SLAMS down and the SILENCE; simply amazing.

Dude that was like 2 episodes, tops.
I think I heard Secret Base play at the end of episode 24 or 25.

have we discussed that Gintama is having its first 51 episodes dubbed?

asking because the news is apparently over a day old o_O
Well they dubbed the movie, so I guess why not? Probably one of the more unnecessary dubs anyway. lol

This can't be true because IIRC he worked on this kid's short series last year that lasted three seasons.

I just went through his ANN profile, besides the one episode of storyboarding he did for Durarara, the last show he worked on was in 2006.

Edit: I guess he directed a series of shorts back in 2014.

Yuri plane action.

it's actually not clear who is dubbing the TV series.
only thing that is sure is it will be dubbed in canada as the dub was approved to create more Canadian TV shows to air in canda (yes... a canadian dub makes it a canadian show to them :p)

just like world trigger will be dubbed in canada as well.

and I wouldn't call it unnecessary, it might let me finally get through the beginning for gintama to the good stuff :p
