If you go to any major theme park, be there before the park opens. There are always substantially less people for the first few hours of operation even on the busiest days of the year. As say this as someone who has enjoyed WDW to it's fullest during the week between Christmas and New Years.

They're not going to get rid of Star Tours. It'll be part of the land.

Well yeah, I figured that went without saying. It would be part of the 14 acres and they would just envelope the surround stuff.

Indiana Jones stunt show isnt worth keeping around.
Backlot Express is the worst dining option in all of WDW
American Idol experience ... uh yeah...

That being said, this could be way off and they might leave half that stuff and the lines would have them tearing out Muppetvision 3d/Pizza Planet area... or consuming parts of the parking lot. Who knows

Tower of Terror (and specifiically the DHS one) is still one of the best rides at any Theme Park. Not to mention Toy Story Mania is incredible, and they are expanding that to have a third track. Also rumors indicate a larger Pixar presence at DHS, with Carsland being built there as well.

I forgot about Toy Story Mania, it was pretty cool. And I agree about ToT, and the closing show is good too. but that's really it IMO.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that they still had a Honey We Shrunk the Kids playground.

DisneyWorld is better.

They both have advantages. Some rides are better at Land and some are better at World. And some rides are only at certain parks. And at Land, California Adventure is right across from Disneyland. It's really fantastic. Of course you have 4 parks at WDW.

All I want:

-life size AT-AT
-life size millennium falcon that I can go inside
-cantina restaurant that has the cantina song on infinite loop

that's it

I dont think its "life size" but there's already a pretty large one outside of Star Tours in Hollywood Studios:

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions
Universal Studios sure woke up a giant.

Universal Studios sure woke up a giant.

It's great isn't it. The competition down there is incredible.

I imagine if they locate the new land around where Star Tours is now (and update that ride?) that the exterior will be completely redone.

I fucking hate the new Star Tours. Original with the Death Star trench run was the GOAT.

I don't agree at all. Love that you never know what you're going to get when you ride it. I hope they add even more scenes. But it would be cool if you had a chance to get the original sequence too.

Yeah the old Star Tours was a once-every-three-years kind of ride. Now I get the fastpass almost everytime Im there.

Very expected but still awesome. I wonder if Muppet Vision 3D will also get the axe when carving out a chunk for this. I was there when it was insanely crowded in the spring and that show was usually half full while Toy Story Mania had a 3 hour wait.

With the format of the new ride, it would be so easy to just rotate in a few scenes from the new films. This isn't unprecidented either - when Toy Story 3 was released, Toy Story Midway Mania got new show scenes (since its basically an arcade game that is literally on rails, this is easy) featuring new characters.

As a Disney Pass Holder I can't get any more excited. Toon Town has overstayed its welcome so im happy to see that go. However RIP Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin.

Yyyyaaaaassssss queen! I don't know how they'd include star tours at land though - it's on the opposite side as took town.

Also maybe this will shorten the lines at the damn cars ride to less than 1 1/2 hrs.

Also, touringplans.com

I bet it will survive in Tokyo for awhile if you're that hurting to see it go.

I bet they add Star Wars there in the 2020s, though.

between this and potential Nintendo / Universal stuff; yes

I was thinkin late next year anyway

I live in south america for reference

Well, with this on the horizon, along with Avatarland expansion at Animal Kingdom... and whatever else they are going to announce at D23 later tonight, it's probably worth the wait if you can't swing multiple trips over the course of the next 5-6 years.

I don't take it there are going to be any live blogs of the Disney Parks panel, which starts in less than an hour? I was going into this D23 really excited to see what they'd be announcing for the Disneyland Resort, and I want those additional deets as soon as they come out.

Toon Town isn't confirmed gone. There's roughly enough room to squeeze in Star Wars Land without getting rid of Toon Town.

It left Magic Kingdom a while back and I don't miss it. To be fair, we never had Roger Rabbit though...
I wish LA had more room for a 3rd park though.

Welp time to start saving for my Disney world trip. By the time this attraction opens, I'd probably have kids. damn.

This is going to be awesome! What a time to be alive.

And the best part about it being at Disney parks- NO COSPLAY!!! I don't want to be enjoying that place while some jerk off dressed as a Gamorrean guard is wandering around aimlessly like a 300 lb. sweaty wrecking ball because he can't see where he's fucking going.

I also see some requests for never ending cantina music... no. For the employee's sake, just no. That's how serial killers are made.

Parks panels starts in about 50 mins. Phones and cameras allowed.

I might post some things in this thread depending on what is actually discussed, but I doubt I can be swift about it.

Are you attending the panel in person?

What becomes of Tomorrow land once all the Starwars Merch is gone?

Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland would be unaffected. California's would lose Star Tours and Star Traders, but it would still have Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Autopia, Finding Nemo, and Astro Orbiters. It would remain the most ride-heavy land in the park short of Fantasyland.
