Still have to watch the rest of that. I really liked it (consider it the only good thing to come from the prequels), but for some reason stopped.

Bummed how it only takes place 5 years before A New Hope. There's still living Jedi? Five years isn't actually that long in a the scheme of things, Luke wouldn't have been that big of a deal. Nothing in the canon expanded universe makes sense to me.

Kanan would have been a really young padawan when the Jedi Order was wiped out. We also know that many Jedi did survive order 66 and just went underground. That wouldn't make what Luke did and what Luke was any less important.

Star Wars works so well as a CGI Animated TV series.

I'm so glad they decided to go this route for the IP.

The trailer looks fantastic. Can't wait to watch and add the episodes to my collection!

GAF, is Clone Wars worth watching if I love the OT and Revenge of the Sith but hated The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones?

Yeah I'd say so. But be cautious because the first two seasons are of noticeable lesser quality than the later ones. The show basically works like a bunch of self contained story lines so you can skip around pretty easily if you don't care for whatever is currently going on. You can basically skip 90% of Droid focused stories and Jar Jar ones.

It does a good job of actually making you feel like Anakin has a reason (or a lot of them) to hate the Jedi order so much in ROTS.

There is a guide some where I'll try to dig up that says what you can skip in the first 2 seasons and what you should watch.

EDIT: Found it

I am so excited for rebels. I can't wait for October. I am also glad to see a Mandalorian in the group.

I'd be happier if they didn't feel the need to go "hey look kids, a FEMALE mandalorian" by painting her armor pink and using dumb cartoony stereotype eyes on the helmet.

Sure. Just know there are a couple episodes/arcs that focus on JarJar and the Gungans. I seem to recall them being easily skipped, at least. But I could be wrong it's been a while.

Watch the episodes recommended above for seasons 1-2. Season 3 onward is pretty good all around besides the Jar Jar episodes.

For seasons 3-6, I recommend:

S03E01 - 02
S03E12 - 14

S04E15 - 17
S04E19 - 22

S05E01
S05E14 - 16
S05E17 - 20

S06E01 - 05
S06E10 - 13

The bolded episodes are part of an overall arc involving a fan favorite character. Watch those if you can't watch anything else. End of season 5 is also a must watch.

I would highly recommend it. Unlike in the films where you could care less about the Clone Army, and the eventual betrayal, the show actually makes you care about Commander Cody and the rest of the army.

And its extremely dark at times. Way darker than anything Episode III offered.

One concern is I guess it being a XD show, so it will be even more kiddy than Clone Wars as its aimed lower from what I understand.

I think they said they want the tone of the Original Trilogy, probably not QUITE as dark as the harshest parts of Clone Wars, and by it's nature a little more adventure-y. That's fine, I trust the hell out of Weisman, and Filoni got HUGE props for me for actually making the prequel-era interesting. I mean he made Anakin an actual CHARACTER for God's sake. After the prequels I wouldn't have thought that possible. The trailer doesn't make it seem like they are ignoring the deaths of storm troopers and the like, though I wonder if it will still have stuff like (CW Season 4)
Asoka's quadruple decapitation.

It makes anakin from a OK dude to one of the best star character.

Nah, Anakin's still basically a big ol' douchebag. Probably more of one, honestly, considering there's a whole arc that is predicated on the fact he consistently treats Padme like shit.

Clone Wars didn't really do Anakin's character any favors.

But that's fine, because you don't really watch Clone Wars for Anakin & Obi-Wan stories. You watch 'em for Ahsoka and Asajj Ventress stories. Which are good.

I disagree, Anakin is brash and cocky, and he let's his anger rule him, but he is generally a good person in the series. You can see why in A New Hope, Kenobi calls him a good friend. You also see the reasons that he would distrust the Jedi Order, and the council particularly. His heel turn is still a bit too fast, but after the shit that the Jedi pull in the series, you can at least see where he is coming from. Hell, him and Padme actually act like a couple in the series, even though as you said he does come off as the dumb jock archetype.
