I haven't been keeping to up, but have my suspicions been confirmed that this game is WoW but with the Star Wars? I'm not saying that's bad per se, but it doesn't seem to be innovating as much as something like GW2.

Ah yes, I remember all the DPS and Tank tropes in KOTOR quite fondly.

JonCha: It's an MMO, it plays just like all other MMOs, if you don't like MMOs you won't like SWTOR. If you like Star Wars, however, you'll probably enjoy at least a playthrough of it. If you don't like MMOs or Star Wars, then move along, this isn't the droid you're looking for.

The game does look great. However when he say "max settings". It makes me facepalm. I don't think I am breaking the NDA here, as it's been said a million times.

There are 0 graphic options in game right now minus shadows and clip distance.

All the other settings must be forced by your graphic card. So whoever told him it was "max" settings is an idiot.

Anything is breaking the NDA except for saying that there is a test and that you're in it. Anything else is against the rules.

I'd cut and paste the exact post where BioWare explains that, but even that would be against the NDA.

I don't know if the screenshots come from Nar Shadaa or Coruscant but they remind me a bit of Deus Ex / Bladerunner, which is a really good thing :)

God, I hope the EU beta comes out soon (and that I'm in)

BioWare (speculator) has been pretty generous when it comes to the NDA here on this board. It has been violated several times now, but at least the testers here are not interested in spoiling anything. They usually just shoot down rumors and false statements.

Yeah, Nar Shaddaa really lays the Blade Runner vibes on thick, especially with the ambient sounds. I swear the background speeder noise on that planet is directly lifted from Blade Runner.

I still can't decide whether to play a Gunslinger or a Scoundrel. Besides Consulars I think the class we know the least about is the Smuggler.

So one the beta guys in the comments there said he was put off by the game because the planets are instanced. Said he joined a group on coruscant, and he couldn't see anyone there because they were on separate coruscants.

Anyone elaborate why he would be in a separate coruscant?

Maybe he was part of an in progress instance & forgot?

Sounds like the guy didn't realize that there are multiple beta servers. Only thing I can think of. Two friends of mine tried to hook up and play with each other, but they got in beta in different waves and so were placed on different severs.

There are certain areas on some planets that are instanced. That was said during the E3 play through. It didn't seem like it would be that many places. Probably a few quest "dungeons".

Nevermind, it's server load. New instances are created when a "shard" gets to capacity.

Testing it probably. Probably why he got separated on the same server.

Or else I won't be able to contain my nerd inner rage before my geekness take over me. And then... Things are going to get real ugly.

I comfort my self by remaining me that great games are set to release this autumn. But damn this summer is a barren, game wise.

Thankfully that let me free time to ride my MTB and to keep my self in good shape before I sit waaaaay too much time playing SWTOR. Hopefully, very Soon ™.

What, you think this won't make it out this year? Would be a huge mistake to miss the holiday with zero competition in the genre.

yup. mmo champion had something on some lvl 38 trooper vid too, but it seems lost. Now that would be awesome to see.

Late to this because I have been playing a stupid amount of kotor 1 since I got it on the steam sale. It looks so good.

Sad to hear there's no lekku customization. Why must you taunt me, Bioware? My main character is going to be a female Twi'lek Smuggler. I guess it would be too hard to work with them and armor.

But I think they only have one position. You can't wrap one around the neck like you could in Jedi Academy or have them down the chest like Mission from KotOR.

The game is playable from start to finish, with almost everything in. Whatever you saw that bugged you is small time.

There were bugs within the first two hours. I can't imagine what it's like later on.

I'm not disagreeing on that but along with the stuff at E3, it seems they have alot of them to quash. November is only 4 months off.
