Do they charge immediately? Also will my copy be available day one if I choose in-store pick up? I've pre-ordered in-store before, and they never even bothered pulling a copy of the game for me, and they ended up being sold out.

I currently have a hold on my card. Don't know if it will fully charge right now or release it. If you're worried about store pick-up, why not just have it shipped to you? I believe they said if you have a pre-order code, you get like 5 days after release to input your real code to give people time to get their shipped copies in.

Uh. It sounds like what's in WoW at the moment. You get to switch to the other side and then choose a similar class while maintaining your level and name. Straight exporting classes to the opposite side would destroy balance.

He reluctantly told me he took down my info and sent it to his supervisor.... But insisted I'd need to make a new Origin account/ea account because you're only allowed one star wars per account and not allowed to "upgrade" it.

(This was after using a WOW analogy about only one key per account. Which I then told him you can easily "upgrade" your account on their website. His rebuttal: SWTOR is a new game and we still have bugs to work out.) LOL

Nope. Only charge on my account is $5 for the pre-order. Never had a hold on my card.

This, and never put your bank account at risk like that. If you are that close to the line, use a credit card and pay it off when it's safe.

Oh wow it's gotten to that point huh? I actually quite like that idea. Would be kind of lame to see 9 out of 10 people in the game world running around with lightsabers. I think you kind of have to make the blaster classes stronger to really entice people into playing those classes over the saber classes.

Does anyone know if it's been said or not, officially, if there will be server restrictions. Ex: if I'm in North America, will I see and/or be able to play on a European server, and vise versa?

I only ask because SWG allowed this, even though most MMOs do not. I have a lot of European friends that I played SWG with that I'd like to play TOR with. It would suck if I wasn't about to. I mean, I could always join a US-GAF guild with you fine people, so it's not all bad. Just curious.

This is why allowing respecs of AC's are not a good idea.

Advanced Classes are not like spec's in World of Warcraft. So please stop thinking that. They are like classes in World of Warcraft.

By allowing you to respec, you are essential changing your class. The problem with this is that it is going to cause a massive balance problem in the game.

Lets take the Smuggler for example. He can be melee dps-ish, single wield dps, dual wield dps an off healer, or a main healer.

As it was in beta. You could only pick one advanced class. If you want to single wield dps and or heal(main or off) you had to be a scoundrel. If you wanted to dual wield dps, use gadgets bombs charger etc., you had to be a Gunslinger. Within each Advanced class, you then would spec how you want. Focus on Healing, focus on off healing, focus on single DPS. You could focus on Dual Wield pistol DPS, or being a support toon or with bombs and charges. Then, both AC's could just flat out spec Dirty fighting. Giving each class 3 "specs" at least.

This made the game feel like each Advanced Class was a class it self, because compared to all other MMO's it was. This has now been taken away. Instead of adding more variety they are giving less. Instead of each faction having 8 classes, they now really only have four.

Imagine what would happen to World of Warcraft if a A Mage could change his "class" to a Warlock and elemental shaman. Ask yourself how many Elemental Shaman we would have seen in the game when Mages were destroying everything in DPS

You also need to think of how recruiting for high-end or half decent guilds is going to be now. In other games, like WoW, they will take one of each class. Bringing an Elemental shaman because hell, he is a Shaman, and he does DPS. It may not be as good as a Mages, but it balances out the classes. That is no longer the case. If you want to play say, a Scoundrel DPS, but Gunslinger dual wield DPS is better, you will NEVER get into a competitive guild without being a Gunslinger. Why bring that scoundrel when you can just change your Advance class? Half the a specs in the game immediately become PVE frost mages.

It sure will be fun when that Trooper you are in a flashpoint with is going to take tanking gear, dps gear and healing gear. Since they can do all three.

Hell, why not prioritize all your guilds recruiting for troopers and or bounty hunters, since picking one up fills three rolls. It would be like picking up a Warrior, mage and priest at the same time. Grab 20 troopers, regardless of spec, and you now have a raid for operations!

Also, what happened to the decisions you make impacting you? They don't. At all. Being mean or nice does virtually nothing. You can change your advance class whenever you want. They announced you can eventually change factions. You can buy gear from a special store if you paid $150.

I was excited by some of the changes they announced. But the item shop and especially the Advanced Class respec but a big time damper on that. The responses the community have been giving in response to those changes basically make me want to kill a kitten.

If you are not in beta, you wouldn't understand why it's so awful.

Just ordered 2 copies of the CE from BB, got my pre-order codes right away.

Alright, I preordered the CE from both Origin and Amazon, y'know, in case Origin sold out or something.

I got the code from the Amazon preorder, applied it on to my account, etc.
Got a code a day later for the Origin one, unused. On Amazon, it mentions that codes from cancelled orders will get deactivated.

So, if they want to take it off my BioWare account, that's fine with me, or would they just nullify the code before it got used?
