Quite surprising I guess.

Lol what? How the hell is Sith Inquisitor that high? I'm always seeing people tear the story apart. Must be people with Inquisitor mains.

Although quite honestly this poll is absolutely worthless as I doubt half these people have even played half these classes a significant portion of the way through.

so I'm pretty uninformed on this whole thing. I was going to play a Trooper mainly to play with some friends on the good side, but I planned on making a Bounty Hunter to play with my brother as well.

How differently do they play?

Same abilities, different names. Basically.

Reallly? Wow. that's kind of lame. So there's only 4 classes then?

No, there's 8. Advanced Class = Class in terms of other games.

4 base Classes x 2 Advanced Classes each.

Advanced Class is not like choosing Fire Mage or Frost Mage. It's more like "Do I want to play a Rogue/Tank or a Mage/Priest?".

• Most likely, all of the invites for the first beta testing weekend have already been sent out. If you haven’t received an email yet or it is not in your spam folder you will not get in this weekend. (source)
• No EU testers have been invited for the first beta testing weekend (however a huge batch of beta testers from Europe will be invited in the next few days to regular Game Testing)
• NDA is still in effect so people should not talk about the game impressions in public
• The First Beta weekend starts on Friday, September 2nd
• As it stands now, people that were invited for the first beta weekend will not partake in subsequent beta weekends
• Invited players are being picked at random from those that applied for testing at swotr.com
• Pre-Order status has no effect on your chance to be invited to the beta testing weekend

Pretty r-word.org that pre-ordering doesn't help you get in beta. Would you want people who are obviously already really interested and dying to play (pre-order people) not people who may have registered on a whim and forgot all about it?

Actually, the ones who forgot about it b/c they might have forgotten about the game entirely and not buy it. The ones who are desperate to get in are the ones who will buy it anyway.

Also, pre-ordering the game gets you early access for what that's worth (play probably a few weeks before the game officially launches AND keep the character).

The reason they did Advanced Classes and not just 8 different mirrored classes is because they'd have to do 16 storylines because of different factions will have different stories.

Right now they have 8 classes and 8 storylines.

I wouldn't be surprised if they kept it through headstart too.
How would that work? "Hey so you know that game you bought that you're playing the final version of right now? If you tell anyone about it we're kicking you out."

How would that blow over? People who preordered paid to get in early. If Bioware took that away, there'd be a huge backlash for what? People not talking about the FINAL version of the game that hundreds of thousands, if not MILLIONS are currently playing? They might as well never lift the NDA at that point.

But this isn't consoles, where beta = "free demo." They shouldn't be trying to sell the game via a beta stress test.

Meh, though. It's random. I just feel like pre-order should net you some points in their RNG :p

Shouldn't the same apply, though?
No. The Yoda puppet in Phantom Menace looked like a stoned Yoda with a DK jaw. Nothing like the Oz original. This is an actually good change.

Fresh wave of invites just went out. again nothing

EU Invites are having issues they hope to get them out this week still but no promises

every time someone posts with something along the lines of "damnit, I didn't get in beta," I read it as if it reads, "damnit, I didn't win the lottery today."

Just got an invite for this weekend.

Which now I'm considering is it worth the 36GB? (I really would have preferred receiving this yesterday, so I could have used bandwidth from August).

I didn't mean it like that! (and yes, I will most positively start the download)... I guess I'm just peeved that this is the way my September bandwidth kicks off <.< (125GB cap)

I would personally say no it's not worth burning almost 1/3 of your cap for a game you can only play for 3 days.

However, that's not a comment on the quality of the game at all.

Unless you're torrenting 24/7, you're lucky to even hit 50 - 75 gig a month.

Well, I think I should be fine... Just gotta stream less TV <.<

And here's the kicker, my bandwidth goes up to 175GB next month (though they're eliminating a $50 overage cap safety-net, meaning people who don't watch their bandwidths could be in trouble).

Also got invited for this weekend beta. Good timing too, being a long weekend and all and seeing as I'm waiting for Dead Island to unlock hopefully Tuesday at midnight!
