StarCraft 2 Beta |OT| (Beta Now Reopen, GL HF)

If it's a hack, then Blizzard has some serious security flaws in Starcraft 2. I'll take my chances.

As for being caught by Blizzard? Impossible. You never log in with the client.
You think? I was thinking that, but doesn't opt-in have your IP slapped right on it? I don't see a way of them catching you other than that. Either way, I really want to see the replays. Think I should risk it?

You don't even connect online so I can't see how Blizzard would be able to detect it. Also, I very much doubt that there is a hidden virus :lol.

I don't think it's in Blizzard's interest to account ban you from buying the game with an exploit that does not affect other players. And you're simply not logging into Battle.net with the exploit. They don't know that you're running a modded copy unless you log into Battle.net with it. If you get accepted into beta, just delete the files and reinstall and you're good to go. The risk is a very minor one, and one I'm most willing to take.

Oh yeah? I'm not at home so I didn't look up how it works. If that's the case, I'll probably check it out then.

If you're really worried about it, just run it in a disconnected environment. Or better yet offline on a VM like Win 7's xp mode.

Can you still play multiplayer? Say a friend and I have the bypass installed, could we direct IP play each other?

It's a classic GAF joke, man. If you take a screencap of your browser, you gotta have some tranny porn on one of your tabs. It's usually "tranny surprise" though. :lol

I think it is only setup to play downloaded replays. I don't think it has been hacked to actually play games in any capacity. I haven't used it myself to know, just what it sounds like.

In all seriousness, you'll probably be able to get a safe hack through a reliable source. However, there have been ridiculous amount of recent Starcraft 2 scams about beta keys, hacks, beta accounts, and fake contests. So be very careful since it's very easy for people to manipulate people's emotions for the game. The exploit itself will be short-lived if some patching future replays from being viewed.

A few fansites have already taken a stance against it out of respect for Blizzard, preventing virus/account hijacking, and fear that exacerbating this issue will impact the rest of the beta.

They do intend to crack the game to allow gameplay against the computer. Anything beyond that is unlikely.

Me? I'll just patiently wait for the second wave coming in the next two weeks. I gotta feeling that I'm going to get in. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if they got it running on private servers. Supposedly, every other blizz beta test has been including WC3.

WC3 beta wasn't encrypted, so cracking it to get private servers running was relatively easy. That's not the case with SC2.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. :lol

Anyways, people getting banned over this is EXTREMELY unlikely. You're not breaking Battle.net's EULA by doing so, so there's no reason you should get banned at all. It's an offline hack.

The replay crack bypasses the login screen completely, there's no way Blizzard will even know you're using it. I doubt they even care about a beta..

Can you toggle the not enough minerals red text on or off? It seems excessive to have it spam and the VA notice. If there is a starcraft/brood war channel/game open right now let me know. I've noticed in most of the streams no one is using the Xel'Naga towers, are they inefficient?

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
If you are not in the beta, can you at least watch the replays in your own computer? I doubt Blizzard will pick me. The only registered game I have is the original SC.

Dunno if anyone is watching the streams but the Helion harass on this one is amazing.

He quick tech'd to Helions and snuck one past the toss' approaching attack which the marines back at his base defended and picked off 3 probes. He then dropped another 3 Helions and got like 50% of the probes.

A few moments later he used those same 3 Helions and drop ship, dropped the Helions on one side, showed a drop on the other luring the guys units there and then moved the dropship down forcing the guy to chase it, all the while backdooring the now vulnerable probes.

He's now playing one of the Blizzard community mods.

I dont think which games you have registered has anything to do with the selection process. What matters more is probably the computer specs you submitted.

I spoke to Jimmy Bigwater and he said that any of you numbskulls watching the replays with the hackzor is gonna get a virus and that blizzard is going to personally spank the bums of people who pirate this beta.

Director of Customer Services at Blizzard.

I've seen back to back matches with Protoss eventually getting a Mothership, model is so good. The second game the Protoss player tech'd straight to it and the Terran streamer had Helions/tanks so it was somewhat effective, until the MS went down then it was over quickly since the Toss didn't have much else.

Wish this stories were from me playing the game not watching the game, QQ

Does anyone know which .mpq the music is stored in?

I've found the ambient audio and voice-overs, but no music.
