I don't quite understand your obsession with MKP but I think you should go to Dreamhack anyways. Live events are really fucking fun. MKP won't be there, but a massive amount of top players will. Any time you felt excitement watching a game (probably other than mkp) in GSL is going to be intensely magnified by the audience there. You've already paid for the ticket, you might as well go anyways!Yoshichan said:Wow, I'm still clueless in what to do. I'm literally just sitting here infront of the computer doing absolutely nothing. I need to talk to someone right now but it's night time. I'm literally drenched in sweat and anger right now, I feel like breaking lots and lots of shit.
I'd say so. There's much more parity in SC2.Deadly said:Isn't the fighting game scene way more hardcore than us? :lol

SC2 matches are a common occurrence as well. The thing that isn't the common occurrence is the act of attending the event.Corran Horn said:Basketball is a common occurrence though. You get...70+ games a year, good chance he comes back again. I would be upset if Jordan was playing his last games and he did not show up to the game I went. MKP might never come to Dreamhack again or around that area...shrug.
nilbog21 said:The sports analogy is terrible because you are paying to watch a display of skill that is manifested in the physical world. In e-sports, the player might as well be watching a replay and it would be the exact same shit. The only reason a person might care would be so they can later say "omgz i saw MKP in person" which is prety god dam silly ..
but hey, one year from now you'll prob be watching MKP and realize how foolish you used to be, so cheer up
Deadman said:I completely agree. When you see the crowd at mlg cheering and shouting during the games you can see in their eyes "this is totally like watching a replay at home".
Bad comparison. If anything it would be more like a musical event like say Osheaga. There are a bunch of artists, your favorite can't attend last minute and you don't care about the other artists. Can you still have a good time? Yes. Because you can discover new artists and such.Yoshichan said:Also, since you guys are doing stupid sports analogy for this whole thing, I might as well put this as an example; Lady Gaga is going to perform. I buy the concert tickets, the flight tickets, the fan-shit I've prepared and I take 4 weeks to mentally prepare myself. Five days before the actual live performance, she announces that she's sick but "everything is fine" - because she says her dancers and the playback music will still be there. Should I still be as hyped for the concert?
Sounds stupid? Of course! Just as stupid as Dreamhack is for me, right now.
I was playing the shitty toss and zerg race and hated it. I "discovered" terran and how fun the game/community is when I saw Foxer.Deadly said:Same thing now, you seemed to still play SC2 even before you discovered MKP. You can still discover other players and such.
What is there to discover? I know and respect every person who's in the DH tournament right now. Paying the extra cash just to "be there" is out of the question for me. Besides, my obvious "obsession" with him would probably result in me just having an extremely bad time if I go there.Deadly said:Can you still have a good time? Yes. Yeah, that does sound stupid because firstly, that wouldn't happen, and secondly, it's not called MKP-Hack. A concert is for that one specific artist. Dreamhack is for a collection of different players. It doesn't revolve around one person like a concert for Lady Gaga would.Yoshichan said:Also, since you guys are doing stupid sports analogy for this whole thing, I might as well put this as an example; Lady Gaga is going to perform. There we go. That example sums it up better.Deadly said:Bad comparison. If anything it would be more like a musical event like say Osheaga. Same thing now, you seemed to still play SC2 even before you discovered MKP. You can still discover other players and such.
But seems like arguing for you to still go is futile.
It makes the most sense considering every other team has a full roster but fox only has Lyn & MoonQ8D3vil said:wemadefox :/

Not for columbus MLG. Only starts on the next one since the next GSL already has it's code S and up down matches lined up.roxya said:Actually, he should be. The MLG thing said the Code S spot was for anyone not in Code S. I find it strange that we haven't had confirmation on it yet.
It seemed alright. Maybe cut your streaming FPS to 22 or 24, decrease quality for resolution.nilbog21 said:

Sad news, but you should go since you already spent the money.Yoshichan said:I'm both mentally and psychically exhausted with this whole Dreamhack situation. Throughout these past days, I've continuously lost my passion to SCII but one thing's always been in the back of my head; meeting Foxer will restore my appetite again.
With the anticlimactic news that just got released today, I can officially say "fuck everything". My mind, body and my fucking wallet can't take this shit. I give up.
