What ever happened to SC2GAF shirts?

They're up on the store (NeoGAF N inside a masters icon). However, if you want a custom name on the back you probably have to design it yourself.

Even though I love Dimaga but I want Mana to take. He's such a nice guy and was a blast when casting with Khaldor in CH games.

I'm kinda rooting for Dimaga. Dude's so awesome he deserves a win.

This game is amazing. Watching at work, tabbing out when people walk by lol

Sounds like me this morning with Boxer vs Yellow. I somehow managed to install the Gom player on my work computer.

You know what is probably good against BL/Infestor? Carriers.

Probably not at all. I just miss carriers :(

Most of this has to do with the quality of players and what races they choose. There are few good Protoss players in Korea right now and even less competent Zergs. I don't think guys like MVP, MMA, Bomber, etc. are great because they play Terran. I think they're great AND they play Terran. I still think Nestea is the best player in the world, and he probably would be with any race.

I could not disagree more.

  • Players choose races based on a certain play-style. Sure, their off-races would probably be pretty good, but they will be better with a certain race overall because they like the way the race plays. Nestea plays extremely reactive, and I don't believe that either Terran or Protoss would allow Nestea to play to his level with his style.
  • Few good Protoss'? What? oGsMC, SlayersAlicia, NSHSage, ZenezPuzzle. Those are all good Protoss'. You may even count HuK.
  • Less competent Zergs? An even bigger "what" . . .IMLosira, MVPDongRaeGu, oGsZenio, oGsLuvsic, NSHSeal and STJulyZerg all say "Hi"

Comparatively, there's more top level Terrans, though.

In before anyone complains about fungal killing that many void rays that should never have been stacked in the first place.

Edit: Dimaga so smart. Making queens for feedback fodder to protect infestors is brilliant.

Games like this are so dull until the massive fight happens. See: Rain-Boxer from last MLG.

This series is best of?

BO5 or BO7. The semis were BO5 while the previous games were BO3.

Love the emotion from Dimage. More players need to get pumped when they win.

Like this.

I agree. So many players are so bland and boring. When Dimaga wins he is so pumped.
I still remember the IEM Cologne.
I'm so glad for him. I hope this encourages him to go to more events.

Edit: I'm actually surprised that event like this can manage to put out a 11500$ prize for 1st when MLG has only 5000$.

Assembly has like two events a year compared to MLG's 6

One being a event focused on tournament play and another being a lan where there happens to be a tournament.

Just thinking how much bigger MLG is and having less than half the prizepool is kinda silly no matter how you put it.

As stated before, Assembly is a twice yearly event. The prize pool for this SC2 event was approx. $20,000.

MLG has 5 tour events and 1 national championship. Each stop on the MLG tour has a SC2 prize pool of $14,000. This means that:
  • MLG doesn't have half the prize pool of Assembly. I don't know where you got your figure from but it's simply not true.
  • Assembly Winter had a prize pool of approx. $6,900. Added to Assembly Summer, the total prize pool is approx. $27,000
  • If you add all the regular MLG Events together, you get $70,000 for 5 events.
  • The prize pool for the MLG National Championship is $120,000, which means a total prize pool for SC2 alone of $190,000

That's significantly more money then assembly and second only to GSL and NASL. It is in no way silly. C'mon now . . .

Then the prize distrubution during a year is horrendous

I don't recall hearing any complaints about the prize distribution from the players and they're to ones who're actually trying to make a living on this. In fact, from what I've heard from SOTG, MLG got almost unanimous praise for raising the prize pool this year. What exactly is your beef with it?
