I usually preach about how good the game is (and its community) every day... but ever since my finger fucked up, I haven't been able to play. Not even casually. This results in a salty Yoshi :/

If it makes you feel better I crushed my hand too. Hairline fractures and a cast so can't play either.

Won a game as Protoss using only the mouse hand so maybe there is still hope.

I think why they got banned is because they didnt read the OP, which is mandatory... (or was?).

The title is somewhat misleadning, since the "person" had disformed genitalias, which lead them to do what they did.

Of course still horrible but... yeah.

I'm more curious how someone actually got time in a PvP to build 8 Carriers (with two building) and a Mothership without dying. I guess the Phoenixes must've been really good at harassing or something.

So as someone who has never played SC or SC2 but is really getting urged by my friends now to get into it, where the hell do I start? Do I do all single player before going online at all? What do GAF?

Even as someone who finds the single player gameplay somewhat disappointing, yes I would recommend you to look into if you're going in bareback. Just be cautious as there are huge differences between the deeper mechanics of the single and multiplayer and I advice 1v1 CPU practice once you're comfortable with the bare basics of gameplay.

Avoid the multiplayer practice league! It is a poor couch and the ladder itself has divisions for the brand new. Also visit the brigade channel and anyone will help you, if you can use mumble that would b even better. We would have you crushing you're friends before they knew what hit em.

Edit: singleplayer is nothing but timeline missions. Wait for this, survive for so long, do this one by one as they are revealed, escort that, etc. No Starcraft in the Starcraft singleplayer. Not like brood war at all where the timed missions were the exception and you broke armies of your own make and measure against great fortifications.

Campaign is a good starting point in general
Have you played standard RTSes before? If so play the challenges and practise games v ai (no point in playing v insane ai if you're trying to learn lol because it cheats), if not play the campaign. Also when you play v ai make sure to put everything on faster.

And yes avoid the practise league. It is played on normal speed and the differences are pretty huge.
