What resolution is your 360 set to? I'm still gaming at 1360x768 and while there is some tearing, I haven't seen a lot in my short play session. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse as you go through the game and is instead maybe tied to the resolution of your 360 (much like the MT framework engine). =/

Same. Living room plasma native 768 so that's what I'm running it at. Not much tearing here either.

Too busy modelling g-strings and assless chaps.

Dead Rising 3 would probably be a game that would get me to buy an xbox one. They should go back to the one save slot and make every survivor location and quest completely random. Also include base building, item crafting, and online coop and bring back the photography elements from the first game.

lol it's stories like these that I'm going to enjoy almost as much as the game.

1080p.

Press up, go the house icon and select the the icon with Jill (total brain freeze, I can't remember what it's called specifically), once there, select the option to search for materials and wait 10mins. An icon will pop up on your map guiding you to where materials are.
Great! Thanks! Will try next time I am on.

How many of you have played it, like it, but already wish they had waited for the PC version?

Nah! I'll be actually happy buying the game twice haha. It's pretty cheap and my PC playthrough will go a lot smoother thanks to experience. And I needed something to play on 360 anyway since I personally find it hard to spend money on it knowing that the future of Xbox is grim for me.

That would be cool. And an online tower defence mode.

The pace of the game is a bit overwhelming. I just want to explore and scavenge but i'm getting missions every 5 minutes. It's starting to feel like Dead Rising. Anyway, some questions:

1. How do you set traps in the outposts?
2. Can you put materials in vehicles instead of carrying them?
3. Will survivors die if you don't recruit them?

I always hated that about Dead Rising.

I haven't seen how bad it is yet, but some of the videos online show a lot of screen tearing. Does anyone know what it takes to eliminate it? Can they patch it out, is it an engine thing?

If it's not too bad I can live with it, it's just that the videos showed some really bad tearing.

So yogapants won't find new weapons on its own, right? I took her stuff and now she is away from home without anything in here inventory... :-/
And how can I heal hurt people? Yogapants is also hurt, so I don't want to play with her in that state.

Btw: game is fantastic. I love the management stuff although I shouldn't have done the recuruitment of another 3 people quite yet...

(Can I play with every survivor?)

I hadn't heard about this yet, from the Polygon review:

That both excites me (I think it's a cool feature) and terrifies me (I'm certain to be working lots of overtime the next couple weeks and will barely have time to play). Is it possible to completely lose everyone/everything while you are away?
This was asked many times in the UL forums. You can't lose your entire base or community and the longer you're offline, the less time passes (so like if you go on vacation)

There are some really clever things in this game. Like dialogue cutting out with "wait a sec, dealing with this first" when you start a fight. And after you killed the Zeds, the dialogue continues. CLEVER!
Another cool thing I saw is that the dialogue changes depending on the character. In the early mission where you talk to the soldiers, I was Mara. Because Mara's background was as a soldier, the colonel and her knew eachother and the dialogue has a more military focus. But if you go as someone else, the dialogue is different.

There's no MP/Co-Op?

state of decay= no mp or co op.

The possible sequel ( currently named class 4, state of decay was class 3) is going to be an MMO.

So if this does good, which is has from the looks of it thankfully, we will see it in the future :p

Wait... So then my resources, medicine etc... will be used when I'm having my Xbox turned off?

Are all supply lockers connected like the Resident Evil storage boxes? Not sure to dump all my stuff in it only to have to come back to that one to pick it up.

Wait, that's a scary thought actually - awesome little feature.

Is the player the only one who can decide to go out and scavenge supplies btw? Do NPC's do it of their own accord ever? I see in the character menu that sometimes people are marked as being on a job, but can't remember if that's because I asked for them to go.

Thinking of picking this up. Playing the trial right now, first impressions are that it's jaggy (especially the shadows) and the melee is kinda janky. I've heard great things, though, so I'll keep playing.

I'm under the impression they head out whenever they feel like it. Problem I have now is, that I, as maya, put all my stuff in the locker to equip it again as the guy (forgot its name) and now she is on a job without anything. That's why I asked, if she finds weapons on her own...

Hey, I've yet to go play it yet but...

If I can thoroughly enjoy the jank of games like Venetica and Divinity II - will this game challenge my jank threshold at all?

Oh shit.

Sent for a runner after having cleared out an infestation in a weapons store. On my way back to the church I heard Ed asking for help on the radio, saw him on the road up ahead surrounded by a horde. Was all "Hold on Ed, I'm coming!" and sprinted towards him, but they were already clawing at him on the ground before I could get there. And then *BOOM*, a fucking grenade exploded in the middle of it all.

RIP Ed, you went like a goddamned hero.
Why couldn't it have been Alan? :(
Ed had just healed from his wounds too. :(
With that I think I'm done for the day.

Set up an outpost in that building. Hopefully that's not a terrible idea. That place had a bunch of good loot. Also, how do outposts work?

Directly from a developer Q&A:
Will the game go on if I log out? Will zombies continue to spawn overnight? Will I have to worry about my character being in a safe place? Will my character start up in the same place/condition I was in when I logged out?

The number of zombies won’t change, and your Home (and your Outposts) will not be damaged while you’re logged out.

But if you weren’t rested, or if you were injured when you logged off, you’ll come back feeling fresh as a daisy, assuming you were offline for the same length of time it would have taken you to rest online. Any work you had queued up, such as upgrades to your Home facilities, or weapon repair in your Workshop, will continue to progress while you are logged out.

As a result of those mechanisms, though, you may have an extremely hungry community if you stay offline for months. Your survivor band will also be healing up and resting... and eating food and drinking water.

Also, how do outposts work?
What do you mean? Like how to set them up or what do they do?
To set one up, you need to fully search and clear a building. Then use the Outpost option on your radio

As to their purpose. outposts:
- provide a small safe zone
- allow you to set traps for hordes in the area
- reduce the amount of hordes and infestations in the area
- allow you to restock using your home base supplies

The pop-in, hitching and cruddy framerate has distracted me from even noticing the tearing. :)

Ah okay, that's neat.

My maximum storage of food is 25 but I came back after several hours and it's still at 37 though.

Similarly, what do the minuses mean next to the stockpiles? It says -8 daily under materials but I'm just working out what they're used for and what would happen if I continually left it at 2 like I have now.

Edit: One more question - how do I find out where one of the survivors from my camp is on the map when they radio in for help?

Can you take people along with you? I'm always more at ease with an NPC in this game, haha.

If you start any of the small missions where someone is pissed at the home base OR you rescue someone and they are being escorted back to your base. You have somewhat free reign to take them with you.

I think we hate the same character. Because if so...I HATE THAT BASTARD!

Ya I played for hours from that base. Partly because I forgot and also because I dig the church.

I also don't see much tearing. Some but not as much as others may be seeing. NOt sure what resolution I am at. Most likely 720p

So my base is threatening to leave me if I don't build more beds but I have no idea what to get to build them. I have been scavenging around but still don't have enough of whatever material it is that I don't have. Any advice?
Go to the menu and find the camp map that shows all your current camp upgrades and choose the radio. Find the option for "search for building supplies" then activate it.

So glad people see this the way I did in the review.

Damn, it's starting to feel like I have to move on to the next town because I'm out of space in my current home base, but I haven't even looted like 20% of the houses yet!

What happens when you move, really? Like how do I do it and does everything come with you (resources etc)? Does the old base close or is it still around but with no people in it?

OK, logged back on after about 4 hours. Resources and Happy face stat (sorry, actual name eludes me atm) were still where I left it, but a good number of the group was out on assignment and I had two quick missions pop, one with the
Army
and one to help
Jacob
who, turns out,
went to go see his boyfriend in secret as the families don't think too highly of it apparently

Such a great game!

Everything except what you paid for goes away.
Your old place stays but I can't remember if zombies took it back over.

Does anyone know how to build a home base?
FInd a new place that has a wall around it and go inside, clean it of zombies, search all locations. Then buy the place.

Um, I a bit stuck.
I met a survivor on a mission and now the mission wants me to collect two rucksacks. Except my guy can only carry one? Am I supposed to leave and then comeback to get the second one, or can I give an order to the second survivor?
