When I get home, I expect my position to be "Psh, I don't care about Hitman games and I don't want to buy them." I expect to then check my Steam list out of curiosity, and find I already own at least 2 of them.Interfectum said:If you don't have Blood Money, slap yourself on the face and get it right now.

I am pathetic at Blood Money. I absolutely cannot get on with it at all. I wish I wasn't such an awful impatient tit.
Edit: Mega-thanks to Wilflare for helping me get K&L2
Licensing issues with 1 song I believe. Squeidos is too lazy to patch it out or work out the licensing.Interfectum said:Yeah I believe it doesn't work on Vista/7 right?

Blood Money is universally considered the best by far. Similar to Chaos Theory in Splinter Cell.StuBurns said:GAF, choose which Hitman game I buy today please.
Yeah they are pretty much cut from the same cloth in that regards where devs decided to finally make the game accessible to all without ruining it. Jury's still out on Absolution though but I think both these franchises peaked at around the same time.shintoki said:Blood Money is universally considered the best by far. CONUNDRUM!

God I hope they never implement a SteamScore or anything. I like them the way they are.Refreshment.01 said:Speaking of achievements, does Valve has expressed any plans to give them more meaning or purpose? Like someone pointed out already in Live at least they up your game score.
All it really needs is easier access. A spot on your profile with your latest achievements or most proud of ones would do wonders imo. As it is achievements are kind of a "tucked away in the corner" thing.Refreshment.01 said:Speaking of achievements, does Valve has expressed any plans to give them more meaning or purpose? You just sold me. The visuals turned me off, but positive words for a game at that price can do a lot.Stumpokapow said:It's pretty fun and although the visuals are simple, they have a kinda cartoony fun. If you've played Ancients of Ooga, CC is like an earlier, smaller, simpler, but better Ancients of Ooga. I recommend it. Not sure about the Steam achievements, but I have 200/200 on XBLA.
plc268 said:Well, it's not stealth really. It's about disguising yourself to get into certain places and accomplishing your objective. There's a little stealth involved, but it's not really the focus.
While it's possible to go in guns blazing, I really wouldn't recommend it because you'll get swarmed with enemies pretty quickly.
Doesn't your Steam profile already have some kind of rating about how awesome or 9/10 you are based on how many hours you've played in the last week?The_Technomancer said:God I hope they never implement a SteamScore or anything. I like them the way they are.
Also yes, the Hitman games aren't like Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell at all. Its all about hiding in plain sight.
Or turning on easy mode and mowing down everyone, leaving no man standing in the opera house.The_Technomancer said:Its all about hiding in plain sight.
Why react with aversion? I mean, for some people the gamer score its like a meta game of its own. More over in a sense achievements the way Steam does them now seem like a half assed step of what Live does. I mean following your train of thought, why have achievements at all in the first place?The_Technomancer said:God I hope they never implement a SteamScore or anything. I like them the way they are.
True. But i thing that at least they have percentage tracking for them. So you can see which are the ones that are rare to get.Exuro said:All it really needs is easier access. Or this... Holy shit i forgot about that, well played man. This is even more stupid and meaningless than the live gamer score.Blizzard said:Doesn't your Steam profile already have some kind of rating about how awesome or 9/10 you are based on how many hours you've played in the last week?
EAGLES SCREAM!!!!!!! They removed the names but you still get a rating. Still, I'd prefer rating on achievement than playtime.Blizzard said:Doesn't your Steam profile already have some kind of rating about how awesome or 9/10 you are based on how many hours you've played in the last week?
I'm not sure they could implement scores well enough, at least compared to Live. There's no standard for number of achievements a game can have so it would be hard to compared people scores together when one person could have been playing an mmo that has 800 achievements while someone else played ten games than had 80 achievements each. The system would have to be completely overhauled imo which doesn't sound like the best or easiest idea. Just stick with what they have now, but have easier access and add more supporting features around the profile and such. They would also need to stop people from being able to use SAM to unlock achievements if they were to put more importance on them.Refreshment.01 said:Why react with aversion? Pretty sure that has nothing to do with achievements though.Blizzard said:Doesn't your Steam profile already have some kind of rating about how awesome or 9/10 you are based on how many hours you've played in the last week?
Just thinking the same. Got it on 360, never went too far into it. Damn you , Steam.wilflare said:should i rebuy blood money lol

Also, having it not built into the overlay is annoying as well. Having to open a browser tab to look at achievements just feels clunky, and takes awhile to load. I wish it was built into the steam platform.Derrick01 said:They should do something to fix the achievements if not add a score system. I can't manage to make myself even look at most game's achievements on PC because of how boring the system is. I have almost all of Deus Ex's achievements because they're either tied into quests or play styles that I was already going to do like never getting an alarm.
VGChampion said:I'd rather something besides a number. I have no idea what my Live score is and I play on the 360 at the very least, weekly. The trophies did it slightly better but I still have no need. Now, if they really want people to buy games with achievements, tie it into TF2 hats or something. Every 10 achievements gets you a hat? Oh boy.
I'm hoping/expecting that we're going to get a pretty huge overhaul when big tv mode comes out seeing as it's suppose to work better with controllers(right?) Currently it's impossible to view achievements/profiles/whatever with a controller so I'm betting that we get an updated UI(and hopefully a more integrated overlay/not opening the browser) to accommodate this.Cyrillus said:Also, having it not built into the overlay is annoying as well. balladofwindfishes said:I think if achievements had an arbitrary number applied to them, we wouldn't be able to have events such as the summer camp sale, when dozens of games got new achievements.
Or something like TF2 which has 379 achievements right now and only had 17 to start
