Civ5 GOTY incoming!

I want all the DLC but I'm not sure if I'll get it if I have to pay (again) for Civ 5 with it. Maybe if the DLC itself ends up on sale.

really hope Steam breaks the pattern and put a sale on it (or allow me to gift the extra copy away should i buy the GOTY)

May be a retarded question, but how do I get Steam to save games on a different drive? I have about 50 games on my C drive and havea new 1TB hdd that I have in my system. I want to keep the games that are on the C drive as it is, but any additional games I want to save them to the D drive. How do you configure Steam to do this?

This Lucid game is weird. The music sounds like I'm in outer space and does the game always stay this simple?

Edit: Nevermind, it's getting a little better/more challenging.

Dammit. Alpha Protocol will be a definite purchase. I was looking around for the Total War games cheap last week because I figured they'd be fun to play now that I have a PC again. And CoH was the RTS game I always wanted to play. Now I'm so overwhelmed I don't know what to do.

Normally people just create a junction (Windows 7) for the whole steamapps dir. If you want to split the games between drives then I guess you can have Steam install the game. Create a junction for that one game parent folder and then just move the game over manually unless of course you know the folder beforehand and create the junction before installing the game.

Also there may utilities now that do this for you.

Cant wait for Payday:The Heist!
I can't wait for Shadows Of The Damned -er, I mean The Haunted: Hell's Reach, myself. Seriously, that game looks so much like a daytime version of Suda and Mikami's monster masher, it's Unreal. :p

Oh yeah, anyone from the EU want to help a dirty Englander get the Dreamcast collection for cheap? Will Paypal or trade for so-so emulation of Ulala's panties.

And yes, I already have all the other Sega games on offer. Finagled them from Dixons UK at the beginning of the year, still haven't played Alpha Protocol. But now I've finished upgrading my PC
for now
, might as well give it a go.

You can't directly do it through Steam. Steam doesn't handle save game location for non-Steam game. It's up to the developer to pick a save folder.

Or use something like this:

Anyone want Alpha Protocol desperately?

I will NEVER play the game, but it is not worth letting the $3 offer go to waste... first to tell me a good story that moves my heart and makes me feel all warm inside gets the game.

Wait, it's on Steam, isn't it? How can it NOT have cheevs? Doesn't every game on Steam have cheevs added afterwards? Maybe you're just missing them?

If the Dreamcast collection had Shenmue 1&2 I'd be so there. :(

We all would, sykoex. There are quite a few Dreamcast games that I'd love to have in my collection, but I know Sega would do a half-assed job (at best) porting them. Maybe those games are best off as memories.

Man I love Company of Heroes... such good games, glad I bought them, I played the old one.

Now if only they'd make a 'modern combat' version of that engine - it would be glorious!

And here's two:

Game Save Manager
Steam Mover

I like Game Save Manager because it also... er, manages your saves. Very cool tool.

InertiaXr said:
I don't think he means 'saves' but rather the actual data files of each individual game. In that case you would use something like Steam Mover.

GSM has a thing it calls Steam Spreader, which sounds kinda hot.

Got Space Channel 5 and the Sega Genesis collection. I was going to pick and choose the Genesis games I wanted, but the deal was too good to pass up. Now to never play most of them.

^^ Have it, pay it forward :D

Edit: too slow.

So no one cares about Alpha Protocol enough to tell me a nice and fuzzy story to get it for free?

Damn... it must be crap haha :)

If I tell you a story will you give it to that dude who asked already?

So I seem to be having problems with Steam now too. Shogun 2 won't get past the Steam launcher and I can't even shut down Steam, froze on the cloud sync. Fun times tonight :(

If you already have it and you're telling me the story for the sake of another, that's mighty kind of you and sure we can do that :)

Which Total War is the best to get?

I've got Rome and Medieval II. What's better - the Empire/Napolean GOTY Edition or Shogun 2?

Or maybe just get the Mega Pack? Only $2 extra and I'll get digital copies of Rome and Medieval II.

Does the Mega Pack have all the same stuff as the Empire/Napolean GOTY edition?

Not every game on Steam has achievements, it's certainly becoming more common, so I'm just suprised to not see them for this game, given that it was on live/psn and all that.

Unless I'm missing something obvious..7

Ah, that answers that! Thanks.

Okay, one time when I was a little kid I was camping on a cattle farm in the Northern Territory which had a camp ground and a B&B thing. It was a beautiful property situated by a river, very lush and verdant. My attention, however, wasn't on the farm, but the farmer's daughter.

Now I don't want you to get the wrong idea. We were probably about nine or ten at the time, this was purely puppy love of the sweetest variety. Over dinner with our families we got to chatting as kids do, and she was really excited to have someone her age around since she "attended" the School of the Air, and the nearest family was a hundred kilometres away.

With this in mind, I casually asked her if she would like to come down to our camp site the next day and spend the day swimming and cavorting. Success! She said yes. Tired but elated I headed back to the tents with my family and went to bed.

The next morning, I awoke early and got ready for the day ahead. Keep in mind I was a kid, this mostly involved putting on sunscreen and zinc. And of course, the morning ritual of picking up the family e-tool and finding an appropriate place to poo in the bush.

This is serious business in NT. If you crap too close to your tents or bury your logs in too shallow a grave you might attract animals, some of which you really don't want wandering into your camp site in the middle of the night.

As I began to head into the bush I heard someone call my name and I froze. She had arrived. I panicked, at such a tender age I had no idea what the etiquette involved in these situations was. As far as I was concerned I was about to ask my date if she minded waiting while I laid the brown carpet and this was not a done thing.

So I kept it in. It actually wasn't so bad really, I hardly needed to go as it turned out.

The day was magical. We started out swimming in the river, then took a break to have some snacks graciously provided by my bemused parents and went for a walk. I had kissed girls before, but I could tell this needed a feather touch so I was playing it smooth, at least I thought so at any rate.

But as the day wore on I heard a grumbling start. Way downtown. For the first time in my life I experienced that moment where you know that good things are imminent if you stick around but you have to flee the scene for a shitty reason. No pun intended.

I had no real options though, where could I go? I pretty much had to wait it out and hope she got bored. Sometime mid afternoon this finally happened. Perhaps it was the occasional grunts from me, or the pained look on my face, but she didn't want to stick around for the pash which had been waiting all day in the wings for a chance to shine.

We were sitting in the river when we made our goodbyes. For some reason I was wearing budgie-smugglers, god why was I wearing budgie-smugglers. She asked me to walk her back to the path to her place and I knew that if I wanted to successfully raincheck the situation I'd need to do that or she wouldn't want to see me again. So we began the gentle walk back.

When we reached the path to her house we stopped, and a miracle happened. She turned to me and grabbed me in a passionate smooch and my little heart exploded with joy and ecstasy, that wonderful moment where it all just falls into place. I never ever wanted it to end.

After a while we separated and giggled a little in mildly awkward bliss. Then she crinkled her nose slightly and looked down at my smugglers and my heart sank. See, it wasn't just my heart that had exploded. The thrill of it all had apparently caused my sphincter to yelp with excitement, and my speedos were filled with poo.

She looked at me in horror. I stared back in shame. Without another word, she turned and walked back to her house and didn't speak to me again.

I'm not sure what the moral of that story is but I do think it's worth about the price of Alpha Protocol.
