I think I may have to buy the physical media version of Human Revolution. I want that art book.

Do we know what the size is going to be? If it's those little mini-artbooks that are the same size as the game case, I'll go digital. Artbook needs to be larger for me to appreciate the art.

It's just me. I can't get used to using so many keys and it feels very fiddly compared to a controller. There's nothing wrong with the layout, but it's not the optimal way for me to personally play the game, as apposed to a genre like FPS where I need kb/m to really feel at home.

Not just you....

I always felt like mouse aiming didn't feel spot on with the exact camera angle that ME2 has behind the character, when I tried it with a pad though it clicked perfectly and was much more fun.

It's also more fun to actually pay attention to the conversations, and run around the environments with a gamepad too.

So obvious that the controller is the preferred input method for the core functions of the game.

Heads-up for Europeans who wish to purchase SpaceChem (currently 50% off): You can buy it directly off the Zachtronics Industries website (link) at $7.50 with no added tax. The key activates on Steam.

I always found that Mass Effect felt better on a controller than a mouse and keyboard, both 1 and 2(when I still had a 360). I expect ME3 will support a controller as much as 2 does, going by Bioware's recent PC offerings.

It never bothered me that ME1/2 didn't have gamepad support, but now that I think about it it would have been really nice. The games never were about super accurate quick-reflex combat, and it probably would have been comfortable to have played it on a 360 pad.

Why would they leave it out anyway? So many other games have native 360 pad support. It seems like a no-brainer.

Is there any way to force 360 pad support? It looks so good and runs so well, but I'm not enjoying it like I should be.

use xpadder. Works perfectly on ME2 but it doesn't work for me on ME1 (moving to the left/right makes the screen go crazy).

So no way to force controller support?

I think there's an elusive .ini hack around somewhere that enables it with full button prompts and everything. Kind of bullshit that Bioware disabled it for the PC. Makes no sense at all.

It'll be teeny tiny.

SpaceChem is pretty rad, GAF, you should buy it.

On the down side, it doesn't look particularly good and it doesn't really play like anything else... But on the plus side, it doesn't really play like anything else! Great music too.

I am highly tempted to preorder Brink, Duke, or Deus Ex HR...

Hummm

the HR 'package' is only 1 euro less than buying DX1 and HR separate. Not really a good deal if you consider other package deals that didn't up the price beyond 50 euros.

Not that anyone actually should buy games at that price, but apparently this is common for Steam in Europe mainland and people still buy it at those prices. :(

Ah..I'd be paying USD. I think I will pass on all. Maybe see Brink after released. I already got Deus EX GOTY for under 5 bucks some months ago.

Off the top of anyone's head, what are some Steam RPGs that have steam achievements? All I can think of are:

- Torchlight
- Mount & Blade: Warband
- Fallout: New Vegas

Thanks!

The Duke Nukem Forever key was handed out to long time Borderland owners, Gearbox's way of saying thanks for the support. You had to have owned Borderlands before a certain point in time last year to receive. When the key will be useful, who knows, hopefully soon. If I receive another key because I've pre-ordered DNF, I'll hand the extra one out.

DNF looks so jank, together with the extreeeeeme, it's the over-the-top that's not working for me. I'll wait for the reviews.

How were the keys handed out? I almost think I preordered Borderlands, something I rather regret (via Steam). I am interested in Duke Nukem, however, even though I haven't played a Duke Nukem game before.

If its the first access code its in the CD Key portion on right when you click on Borderlands in Library.

Didn't a Gaffer who works at Gearbox say the beta was canned? I'm guessing the code will just be for early access to the demo.

You really should check out DN3D, the first episode at least.

Okay, I've got a question about Mass Effect 2 w/r/t Cerberus Network. Do you really have to go to Bioware's website and individually download all your DLC manually? I've logged in to Cerberus Network in-game in Mass Effect 2, redeemed my code, all that, but there's nothing there. I thought it would be like in Dragon Age where you it downloads and manages all your DLC for you, but as far as I can tell it runs a few headlines across the main menu and that's it. It's not really that big of a deal because I found where you can download all your registered DLC at Bioware's website, but it was kind of a pain in the butt. Plus it was over a gig worth of crap.

Am I missing something really obvious here?

A few hybrid RPG's with steam achievements that may or may not interest you:

- Borderlands
- Disciples 3
- Puzzle Quest 2

What's the verdict on Hydrophobia? It says that it fixed alot of the problems of the original version. Is it any good?

Yes, all ME2 PC DLC is handled through seperate installers that you download through their website. It's a jank system, especially if you've played DA1.

DA2 is handled in this way as well, no idea why they ended up going backwards with that.

Yes. Blame EA.

Stealthily, that's how they were given out. If you owned Borderlands at x point in time, you automatically have a key. Go to your library, right click Borderlands, View game CD Key. You should see Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club

Ridiculous. Okay, well glad to know I'm not losing my mind here.

I have the DNF key from Borderlands but I didn't get it until one of the steam holiday sales (can't remember if it was thanksgiving or december sales), so unless you bought it really recently you probably have it

I second this. I can't even play on Insanity with the mouse and keyboard controls. I really need 360 pad support.

This worked for me when I tried it a few months ago.

From what I understand there's only one issue. You can see it at 4:00 mark on the video.

There isn't a DNF Beta. It is a DNF Demo. This will be released shortly to First Access members. You can register First Access Club codes here (www.dukenukemforever.com/access/) if you have a First Access key from when we sent them out to prior Borderlands customers, or to Borderlands GOTY customer.

We will be sending keys to those that register here. You can choose platform of preference from the form once you log in the First Access page.

Any word on when the demo will be out for everyone else? Or even what the demo includes?
