so is anyone else gonna have a budget for the summer sales or are they gonna just ride it out and take out a loan afterwards?

my target: £80 for the whole sale.

I normally aim for $50 or so for miscellaneous purchases + whatever it costs to take advantage of key daily deals, which generally brings me to around 100 usd total.

If I can keep it under $100 total for the sale, I'll count it as a win.

It's because I've been in on a 4-pack that ended up not happening twice over.

I ended up playing MineCraft instead.
Ah, I suppose that's fair enough. It's well worth £5.99 though.

I'm building a new PC at the same time so I'm allowing a max of £150 for the Steam sale. Once that's gone, it's gone. Honest.

I got really into Steam when I saw the Christmas sales, and it made me thankful I don't have much of a gaming pc, otherwise I'd spend a boatload of money. For this Summer Sale, I'll probably just put 50$ in my wallet and that'll be my limit.

I'm going in with an open heart, streaming hair, no pants.

Probably $100 AU. Any more than that and I will start to get the wobbles.

I just drop a few games in my wishlist and pray I have the willpower to ignore everything that isn't on there.

Right now all I have on there is:

Drakensang
Drakensang: The River of Time
DOW2: Retribution

on the fence about Divinity 2 and Last Remnant

(big RPG fan obviously)

I've got 75 dollars in my Steam wallet and another 100 parked in my paypal account. I really hope I keep it under 100. Probably will. I was planning of getting Brink and Dirt 3, but with the impressions out there, I don't think I'll get either unless they have a significant sale. Dirt 3 definitely needs to be 66% for me to bite. Brink I could probably be talked into for more money, but considering nobody on my friends list plays it any more, I'm not sure I should believe it. Those were the two games that threatened to send me over 100 this summer.

I'm trying to temper my excitement for a summer sale because we actually have no idea if it's going to happen again or not. It probably will, but this thread is going to be interesting if they don't.

The other interesting thing is if their competitors try to compete like they do during Xmas sales.

There needs to be a Summer Sale.

How else will people remain convinced to stay in the safety of indoors, and not go outside where they could be eaten by sharks?!

I seriously hate how Valve patches games. They don't diff and merge files, just replace them outright. First a 9gb patch for Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, now a 5gb patch for Section 8: Prejudice. I'm lucky I don't have bandwidth caps.
