How to get time played counted in Dosbox games on Steam.

Open the relevant .bat file for the game in notepad in the main directory eg. Launch The Pandora Directive.bat

overwrite the exisiting stuff in notepad with this.

Code:
start DOSBOX\dosbox.exe -conf dosboxtex4.conf -noconsole -c
:endless
cls
echo
goto endless

save it.

Doesn't get Steam overlay working but it beats running SAM.

Oh wow, special edition physical PC copy of Wolfenstein

£21.99

http://www.game.co.uk/en/wolfenstein-the-new-order-occupied-edition-only-at-game-285292
code EASTEREGG1

Sod it! I'll bite. Cheers for posting.

You kids with your newfangled PlayFire credit.

I can deal with no TF2 items if it means paying £17.87 nets me a couple of postcards, quirky guide and an actually box at almost half the price of digital.

Upside, inside out he's livin la vida loca, He'll push and pull you down, livin la vida loca
Favorite option though is the move which I wish was supported on the PC. Analog stick for movement and the wand for aiming is perfect.
The move is actually quite shit for pointing/aiming, the Wiimote was far better at it.

Nothing beats Halo players complaining about how COD dumbed down shooters.

It's quite late for that, you won't sleep till Sunday XD

this is the type of shit that makes me forget why I'd like blizzard games on steam

I swear they've become the most cringe-worthy company in the world
Wait, is that real?

speaking of steam look at what I just found

thing is beaten to death buttons are all mushy and its filled with dust under the screen

but hey Persona 3 was on it and I also found Patapon 2

brb going to the toilet
Heh, I had forgotten you had a silver 2000 like mine :p
I remember complaining about its shit battery... now I wish my Vita and 3DS had the same battery life as it did :(

i'd buy a Vita in a heartbeat if I didnt have to pay for all the indie games I already own on Steam again
You could just get PS+, given the Vita's relative small selection most of the games there end up being indies.

no time for games tho I gotta go watch the best version of casino royale
Nice, the only one I have on UMD is Hancock
because it was free, so at least you got a good movie

I love that Salsa was just told to get a life.
Given how dead the Vita is, I wouldn't say so :p

I really liked Rock Band unplugged on the PSP and I remember I was hoping they'd release Rock Band Blitz on Steam
The big problem with Unplugged to me was that the DLC was special for it, it didn't work with any other. Also even if a lot of the challenge came from switching intruments, the fact that there was no multiplayer (where each would handle say 1 or 2 instruments) was really strange.

Almost finished off Burial At Sea, and as I'm currently playing more action focussed titles on consoles (Trials Fusion, Infamous, and NFS: Rivals) I fancy something RPG wise on PC. Something with an action bent though, so fresh runs through of the Final Fantasy games, or Baldurs Gate can wait.

I've narrowed it down (ish) to Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut, and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition. The former I've previously played through the first third of so on PS3, and the latter never got more than an hour into.

So which should I plump for folks?

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
Of Orcs And Men seems surprisingly decent, played about a hour and half. Combat system is a bit weird, but I think Im getting the hand of it (I need to stop using onl defensive stance stuff on the big guy, just noticed the offensive spells do a shit ton more dmg). Looks pretty good, voice acting is ok, setting is pretty cool in a "you play the other side for a change" way... nice little surprise. Bonus points for armors changing the way you look in cutscenes, I hate when it doeesnt

I bought mine because I read you were getting a similar one a while back.

I played a lot of shooters with it (specifically Raiden Fighters Jet), but I still haven't got the hang of using it for fighting games.

I am pretty sure I've seen people play instruments that were designed for operation using hands via other methods, e.g. using their feet, etc, due necessity or otherwise. Sure, there are some hard, technical factors determining advantages and disadvantages of a given control method and its ultimate performance, but people adapt if they have to or want to, and they can perform (to the limits of a control method) if they are comfortable with it.

Maybe KenOD is savant and would kick your butt playing with his DDR pad :p
I have the same for the same reason sansa mentioned (it's easy to mod). I haven't tried to mod it yet because the only website that sells parts in europe wants 20€ for shipping

Good game except for the fact it repeats the same events 3 times. Just seems lazy so they didn't have to create more environments for a budget game.

I don't think it was laziness. Alan Wake X360 weighs in at around 7GB whereas XBLA games were still required to be <2GB in size when American Nightmare released.

The move is actually quite shit for pointing/aiming, the Wiimote was far better at it.

Killzone, Resistance, Overkill and other games I played with it worked great. Didn't really notice any difference from the wiimote, although I've heard there is one.

I'm late-hooking to the great discussion that happened overnight here, about keyboard vs gamepad.
I've been a console-only user since basically the birth of analog sticks up to a couple of years ago (before I meddled between consoles and PCs) so when I came back to PC-only I just wasn't comfortable poiting with the mouse again.

So I basically play FPS with a gamepad. A crappy Sixaxis. AND I REGRET NOTHING.

Except, like, when I played CoJ Gunslinger, after finishing the game, the arcade missions were too hard to play with the pad, so I tried kb/m and I was totally like the dog slamming his paws around.
But all in all, the joy when I unveil to co-op people in L4D2 I've been playing with a pad all along, and listening to their rage against me for the n-th death during a horde, is totally worth the fact I actually suck with pad as well as kb/m.

I hope that's on easy. Anything else and you're a terrible person

am cry

I guess the rewards will go to something else then

Yeah, I don't think any of the Ubi titles purchased from third party sellers now activate on Steam -- AC4 from Amazon seems to be an anomaly... I've wanted SC:Blacklist for awhile, but refuse to activate it unless it redeems on Steam so I can at least launch and have the benefit of Steam handling the patches.

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought about using my $5 game credit from MoF HD on Child of Light to get ANOTHER $5 credit, but then I realized buying from Amazon wouldn't let me redeem it on Steam and get the slightly less anoying, not 100% Uplay version...

Amazon also has Steam SKUs for Far Cry 3 and AssCreed 3. Josh (Amazon's new DD rep) told me he'd try to get Steam keys for the Settlers 7 games, too, but I'm not expecting Ubi to budge on that front... although it did make a new retail sub for Settlers 7 vanilla earlier this year.

Securing Steam keys for Settlers 7 would be a great way for Amazon Josh to prove himself. Lets hope he's successful.

Really thinking about buying The next car game. Any good?
I know it's alpha early access so not expecting a lot.

Also cheap deal on Tropico 5?

I've put around 2 hours into just screwing around the destruction arenas, great fun! Not too much in the game currently, 3 destruction arenas and a few races but the game feels pretty polished for the most part outside of UI issues. They will definitely come through on the full game so it's worth getting if you like flat out or destruction derbies.

They do need to tweak how long your car lasts though, lol

So I just finished the new Thief....

The boss battles? Terrible.
The PC controls? Less than great.
The missions? Meh
The aesthetics of the levels? Gorgeous!
Atmosphere? Overall great (looking at you asylum).

Content-wise its a bit thin right now, just a handful of derby pits and race courses with three different cars. The physics are in a really good shape already, both destruction and handling of the cars. Bugbear are a developer with a good track record and they post updates on development progress every few weeks on the blog and interact with their fans on the official forums.
