witcha 2 is pretty long, you're gonna have to be quick

The first one we did was the library pod, we didn't have any weaponry that run but had lots of turrets and concentrated on Sci generators. The game after that was the Armory, which put more emphasis on food, personal DPS per character and giving us limited industry to build with. That was the pod you complained was your punishment for that one little tiny mistake, remember dear?

After that, I think we did two games on the regular Escape Pod which is just the vanilla game with the normal balance. I liked how we died faster there then we did on even the Library Pod, which is quite a bit harder for personal survival haha

i think best one was the food pod cos that one was easy enough for me lol

+1. I just never liked it, can't explain it but that's how it is. Only use it when MPC-HC doesn't work (streaming like once or twice a year).

MPC-HC is my number 1 choice.

I don't really mind the nerfed rewards because since these were conditioning what I played (which I didn't like at all) I stopped caring and paying attention to them. So if I have any that's nice, but I'm not going out of my way to get them

I can never tell what effect changing this stuff has.

As a MPC + K lite mega codec pack pleb I just pick lots of stuff install option and everything runs.

And thanks to the community who makes this stuff for that, because I remember the dauys of the proprietary format wars and it was shit.

I tend to prefer CCCP over K-Lite.
Switched many years ago and never looked back.

You should There are a lot of good guides out there, but with varying age. reddit has a good, pretty recent one but it's pretty slim. You can replace XyVsFilter with XySubFilter if you want.

I never tried XySubFilter actually, I'll look into it.

Installing and configuring all that (with a tutorial) some time ago (coming from CCCP) improved the quality of videos by a huge amount. Anime never looked so good before.

You can use madVR with CCCP at least, not sure if the others are as easy to set up.

Surprisingly enough, The Elder Scrolls Online isn't really shitty anymore. The game is almost unrecognizable from what it was at launch, which is a really good thing.

No. Say you're an American. Say you're traveling to Germany. While in Germany you now still can buy games in the US store using your usual payment methods like if you are still in the US. OR you can say 'hey I'm staying longer in Germany, let's change my account over'. Then you can buy in the German store and as soon as you complete a purchase with a German payment method your Steam wallet gets changed to €. Want to buy from the US? Change it back, the option will still be there.

Man, for all the negative rep Xbox division garnered over the past, I gotta give huge, huge props to MS with their incentives with Dreamspark.

The things they are giving away are just awesome. It really is.
There are so many software-packets, I don't even know what 70% of them do but I see some super nifty stuff like Visual Studio Pro, XNA Game Studio, Kinect SDK and so much more.

MS does some cool stuff. Just not gaming-wise imo

Dreamspark was a bit neater a while ago, now not so much because of the things you mention, all are free already (VS2013 Pro is now free for small teams and individuals as the Community Edition, 2015 will be as well)

Okay, but the issue isn't "who is being restricted", the issue is "what are you being restricted from doing". The mere fact of being restricted is irrelevant. Steam could restrict my account right now, but if the restriction was that "I can't launch games whose titles start with Q on Sunday nights unless I spam a Meat Boy emoticon on my own profile page's wall and buy at least $0.14 worth of animu background images", then that's not a restriction that's actually going to impact me.

I heard that playing Quake on Sunday nights is good for your health.

yeah, i mean my favorite jrpgs kind of have of all of those (suikoden 2, vp1, parasite eve 1, xenosaga/gears, ff7, persona 3, nocturne, fm1, etc...).

but to catch my attention i tend to need likable characters or a likable setting from the get go. something like 250 hours of gameplay or a great combo system or whatever is not really the way to hook me

so yea i maybe should just play p4 since p3 might be like the best game of all time if u ask me

Oh, it wasn't for personal reasons (well, not precisely for personal reasons). But suffice it to say that as a student who actually forgot to sign up to classes, who stuffs crap into shelves 20-25 hours a week, I can't afford to pay Steam AU prices.



That's the amusing thing, actually -- I went from thinking about how I'd spend a, well, fair amount on the Summer Sale to spending it on travel.



I've been playing with fire this long I'd rather not get burnt, but suffice it to say that, when it comes to lower prices, where there's a will, there's a way... only it seemed Valve had closed the latter entirely with the whole account region = store region thing. It's not a path I'd recommend anybody go down, though, least of which because of the trust in other persons it requires. I danced -- and will continue to dance -- the whole "Don't use VPNs!" routine because I didn't want to be indirectly responsible for people being made example of.

Managed to get that monitor, its pretty sweet, works amazingly well once you change the config.txt and it's nice being able to play all my games on a 4:3 screen, it has a vesa mount, I'm tempted to do what Fredrik did and turn it into a mini arcade machine.

Games work well with its resolution (800x600) and response time is pretty good, only downside that audio out? doesn't seem to be working, not sure, it never stated on the website it could do audio.

Compared to a 9" 16:9 monitor it definetly has an advantage:

That's interesting, because that's the exact same chair I used to have until it literally fell apart on me after 3 years of constant daily usage. I was thinking of getting another but was also thinking of "upgrading" a bit.

I was kinda looking at maybe something like this

If you're looking that far up the price ladder*, I'd recommend going nuts with a GT Omega or DXRacer. They're somewhat flashy, but they're really comfortable and the construction is incredibly solid. I've heard great things about DXRacer's King and... M(aster?) series, and I've got a GT Omega Master XL. Comfy enough to sleep in.

Hey my good people! Just finished Dirt 3 Complete Edition.

I already had beaten Dirt 3 last year but I decided to replay mostly the Tour Events while avoiding most of the Gymkana events. I also wanted to play some of the DLC events and try some of the DLC cars I didn't had the chance to play in the original game. I'm not going into detail again about what the game could have been, what's missing and so on but I'll just say that the game still looks really nice and the smooth gameplay is as great as I remembered. Playing this game with absolutely no HUD while raining it's such a good feeling. I had some fond memories from the last time I played so I confess that this was a bit of nostalgia trip for me. Still not sure what's going to be my next game but right now this was a nice +1 completed game to my list (even if I already finished before).

Decided to finally grab Far Cry 4.

I don't think I'll play it right away, however, I have the feeling that Ubi will soon go for retail prices for their games in the mexican currency. Almost all other major publishers (like Capcom, Warner, Activision), do that. For example, Mortal Kombat X is $1000 pesos right now, which is like US$65.

Anyone here who played Endless Legend would recommend it? FYI I really enjoyed my time with the latest Civ game that came out (only one I played), and from what I saw they are similar? Thinking about making use of the sale currently on on Steam.

Endless Legend is fantastic and brings some truly unique things to the genre. The only real downside is the combat and if you just auto-resolve every battle it plays basically like a Civ game does.

Anyone else who has Shadowrun: Dragonfall DC have issues loading into the second area after the brief prologue? Game hasn't frozen as the tooltips keep refreshing but it just loads infinitely.
