Paid with PayPal funds so can't imagine that's going to be a smooth process. I've only got 40p credit at the mo so I'll eat the 30p loss. I'll live!

The frustrating thing about PayPal refunds is that while they're processed instantly, the money is temporarily frozen when it's returned to your account. PayPal says that these "temporary holds" are for verification purposes, but I've always leaned more towards the cynical belief that the refund system is entirely automated and the holds are intended to act as a small punishment for being a less-than-ideal buyer.

oh, I can see you're still playing the PS4 version ;)

For today yes I live in squalor but tomorrow I get to dine like a king!

It's a bit like banks when you pay someone by cheque. After it's been presented, day 1 it's still in your account, it takes to day 3 to be in the payee's account but during day 2 the money is lost in limbo neither in your account or the person you were paying.

I missed the original post, but for my own mic I use a Logitech 310 webcam. Just sits on my monitor bezel and seems to be the best mic I've ever owned. I've used the cam part like once and that's fine too for what it's worth. Plus it's USB! I grabbed it at Bestbuy for like $30, amazon has it for $33 right now.
i can see that being super distracting for me tho heh

i think i just gotta like accept that i can't keep buying cheap headphones and buy ones that at least aren't like from a generic brand or whatever

In the very first book that kind of happens.
Hm. I never read the books. Still sounds like too much for dispense of belief.

Among the trilogy, the first was special. The latter two were not bad, just not as memorable. I'm expecting not JP1 levels of memorability just casual fun. Been some while seeing a good dinosaur movie.

Good idea to boot into recovery, factory reset, then install any new ROMs.

I think that TWRP was issue for OTA so i flashed Factory Image. This is first time i did anything other than OTA updates on N7 2013 since i got him year and a half ago :D Pure Android OS is really stable.

Bought myself a GTX980 and got my code for the witcher...no idea if I should use it though. tried playing the witcher 2 and just couldn't get into it even though I tried multiple times. I think it was mainly because I had no idea wtf was going on or where I had to go.

Was thinking of trading it/Selling but there's nothing I even want until Batman comes out.

Just grab some Superlux 668B's they are relatively cheap and deliver some great sound.

Alternatively, you can check out AD500s or Massdrop has some good open headphones for cheap if you are in the US.

As for microphone, the Antlion modmic is your best bang for your buck. The webcam suggestion seems like a solid idea with a beneift of giving you a video option for Skype, Google Hangouts, or AppRTC (which is also owned by Google I believe). Monoprice also has some really cheap desktop mics, though I've never heard any impressions from them.
I wouldn't recommend the Zalman mic, hear too much regret associated with that purchase.

Seems that they have acknowledged those issues with the development of Witcher 3. Will remain to be seen of course, but CDPR games always have huge pacing issues in the beginning.

This is going to be the OT next month when the game comes out. So many people are going to play this as their first and wonder just What in the hell a lot of stuff going on is. Especially if the recap is as a bad as it was in Witcher 2.

I really don't understand how people can start playing franchise from second or third part. I mean i understand that some of them don't have time to play all of them but Witcher 1 and 2 are really good games and in my opinion you need to play them to appreciate characters and story.

Glad i'm not the only one lol it'll be glad if they fixed it for the 3rd one but I don't suppose you guys know if there's a proper catch up so I can try the witcher 2 again before the launch of the 3rd? no rush on this code it can sit unredeemed for now.

Some people don't have that option to play the others especially the first one. It would have been better if the 2nd was on more than just the Xbox and had a better recap of events.

The story of the first game didn't really effect the second, other than who you were working for at the very start.

Most of my personal confusion resulted from the character and country names, of which I had no prior knowledge. You could read the numerous logs that explained these happenings, but that isn't exactly an ideal solution.

Hopefully they have a long introduction cutscene to explain the back story. The Witcher 1 doesn't really effect the current story arch, but The Witcher 2 sets up huge plot points into the current arch.

COD:BLOPS2 is 73% off on Amazon (physical only, though)

I'd have bit for 10. Waiting for wither the PC or WiiU version so I can play the campaign.
I should just borrow it from someone at this point.

Most of the confusing characters were a lack of setting up the overall world. You could read the numerous logs that explained these happenings, but that isn't exactly an ideal solution.
.

Yeah that's what I meant to get at with my comment. It just kind of throws you in "Yeah you should know all of this already". I even did work before playing the game such as reading the first 2 books and was still at a loss for some things. Which definitely took away from my enjoyment. Especially since as you said few are going to bother reading logs and such. If you have to rely on that to build your world for new players I feel you're doing something wrong. Though that's a case by case basis since some games are built off that idea.

yea i liked the camera idea for having some screen time with the bf

will have to check up on those names, where i live things are very expensive so it's hard to say if your relatively cheap applies to me, unfortunately

tahnks for the suggestions

Speaking of Battlefront 2, does anyone have a spare key or two? I'd make a fair offer.

I used to play with a couple friends back in the Xbox days and we've talked recently about getting back together. Stupid me didn't get the BTA bundle when I had the chance, though.

Borderlands the Pre-sequel is 24$ on Gamestop, US only as usual

Half price is worth considering if you're a fan of the series. While the game is rather light on content compared to 2, the "Aussieness" gives it a lot of character.

Menus are stretched and prerendered vids will probably be too (or pillar/window boxed) but the main issue it that the UI for objects or people you interact with is still rigged up for 16:9 so you have to float the camera around quite a bit to get the object you want. No the end of the world and still playable which is way better than the hassle that was Remember Me.

Edit: Saying that leaving the aspect ratio X axis constrained and blowing out the FOV to 90 degrees gives the same visual results but the UI scales accordingly. Might not be perfect for every scene though but I'll have a proper play around at the weekend.

Depends and in GTA V it's not by my choice as it's tied into the shader settings.

Playing San Andreas while you wait for your GPU? :p

It looks better in motion, honest.

Do you have one monitor or more? I have it on my second monitor which is usually browsers/skype/movies/whatever and I barely, if ever, notice it, but if you have one monitor I could see it being distracting sometimes. But it's pretty small and when you aren't using the camera you can have it pointing up and it shouldn't cover the screen at all but still pick up sound.

yeah only one monitor for now

i had two for a while and it was bliss but unfortunately had to give it away

i'll try to get another one at one point, it's very good for programming

i kinda like the idea of the webcam since it's actually fairly cheap, doesn't take space on my desk and is actually a webcam i could use for like skype and stuff

i might actually go with that if the mic's not too awful

I'd love to have a 21:9 setup but all the imcompatibilities don't help :(

Depends on the game really and certainly what engine it's running on. Support is pretty good and stuff like UE3 games do require a little digging but you pretty much always have full access to tweak config files to suit (well bar Bulletstorm grrrrrrr). It's certainly not for those who want to pick up and play but if you don't mind getting your hands dirty or use applications like FlawlessWidescreen it's certainly worth the effort.

I read that as Echoes of Arthea while I was skimming through posts and had to double-check the name.
