Having a 4K TV makes me sad, gsync obviously isn't there so that's weird to get used to compared to my RoG Swift and given I have one 780Ti most modern games are barely playable at 30 FPS. I need that 980Ti now ;-;

Some sites are now reporting May for the 980's replacement. I hope that's true and Nvidia throws Australia something of a bone by converting USD$699 to AUD$899 as I shouldn't have any trouble selling my 980 for $600 and two 670s for about $300 (which I really should have sold already, but I'm lazy).

For the longest time I thought your name was Rico The Guru
I actually meant for my name to be ricochetguru, ie good at bouncing off things, but I made the username when I was around 10 so I misspelled it, unintentionally making it a gore porn reference. Have had it for so long that I don't want to change it though.

Exciting, last I heard it wasn't until June so that's a much easier wait. And I hope so for your sake as well, easy to forget how lucky we are with prices in the US.

My current MP rotation of TF2, GO and Dota 2 is really, really stale right now. Anyone have a recommendations for other MP games with a high skill ceiling, that are relatively polished, that aren't Hearthstone (love the game, hate the grind and/or monetary commitment) or Heroes of the Storm (too Baby Dota for me)?

League of Legends fits the bill. I only bring it up since you mentioned Heroes of the Storm.

Aside from that, Dirty Bomb will be leaving closed beta pretty soon.

OK now that a day's passed, I find all this hate on Konami...saddening;
Back in the day
Old-Konami-Logo.jpg

When you saw a Konami game you were guaranteed 90% of the time that it'd be fun in just about any way if you were open minded enough and just wanted that good ol' Konami goodness.
Now everyone hating them and wanting them to crash and burn...feels so 180ish...

For that matter, I think the only Konami games I got atm on Steam are
Revengence
LoS 1
Rocket Knight

Any other games of theirs worth getting?

Konami is dead, we'll get a metal gear or two more after MGSV and when they bomb to shit they'll sell off their gaming IPs and leave the industry entirely. Video games is such a small portion of Konami these days that i imagine that at some point, it's better to take a lump sum and walk away from the issues it presents than keep trying to make it work given their disinterest in it.

Man, slim pickin's. I might try the Dirty Bomb first... have it in my library and haven't touched it. Thanks for the suggestions.

Dirty Bomb is pretty good, worth a try.

starter pack giveaway might still be going on. Just sign up for the site. I got one on the second try. Have been in the beta for a while now, but this way got the extra credit and the 5 mercs unlocked.

All I want is for their ye olde catalog to be available on digital services, that's how they'd live on; with the games that made them great~

That sounds about right for Kon... Hey when did they use Myriad Pro as a corporate typeface? Hmmmmm.

After how shit Arkham City ran with DX11 features, i'll gladly wait to see what stupid thing is going to ruin everyone's framerate this time around. The only issue i had with Oranges was that i couldn't max out PhysX (which is fine, i've only got one videocard and PhysX almost always looks out of place in max settings anyhow) so at least those Montreal folks can optimize their games.

I fired up City the other month and even with waaaay more GPU grunt that the game needs the DX11 renderer is stupidly heavy.

Sure, if that digital service you speak of is iOS. I get the feeling that's where you'll see Konami's classics appearing if anywhere at all.

Well, yeah, but at least they are working on a new console Suikoden game, according to Verendus.

Now if that gets cancelled the I will get mad.

So my friends birthday is coming up and she enjoys story rich games like To The Moon allot and i was wondering what are other story rich games on steam? She doesn't like fps that much and she cares more about the story than about the gameplay.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Do it! Brothers is one of my favorite games.

the KSP crew believe that extra content would have to be substantial to ask you for another dollar. think Expansion pack instead of horse armor

here's the new Kerbal OT for when 1.0 Launches today

I've always wanted to get this game, not only for myself but also my mom. She worked as an aerospace engineer for her entire life. I feel like she might really enjoy this game, but she has also never played a video game in her life so it could be a complete disaster.

Makes me want to play the game on hard.

I don't want to fall into the hype of The Witcher 3.

Because I don't have a PC to run it until October.

So it's probably a shitty game until then

Now I'm just jelly. I'd love the starter pack, I've contemplated buying it.

Dirty Bomb is so dang good.

Someone here on GAF told me it's like Day of the Tentacle because, you know, backtracking...if you don't like it, you don't understand nothing about games, this is a 10/10.

You don't understand, Copons, just like me!

No one actually said that.

And they still haven't sent my a beta access key. :/

Act 1 had its fair share of backtracking too (even tho, how much backtracking can you do in 1 hour of game? :D ), but in this case... the puzzles are, well, utter crap.

Broken Age Act 2 Vella side spoilers
connecting the tube? crap! figuring out Shay boots? crap! and now I've got to do something as Mom with power and the repair-thingy and I don't even know what, but the point is I'm not having fun trying to figure out what

DiRT Rally Early Access Begins

Release April 2015
Welcome to DiRT Rally and thank you for joining us for early access.

For the last few years our fans have been asking us for a game that is pure rally with none of the fluff, one that has more stages, longer stages and repairs in between stages. You’ve told us you want your own team, you want to be able to set the car up and to feel like you own the car you’re driving. We want to deliver that game and with your help we hope we do.

So what are you getting in our launch pack?

17 Cars - Having hundreds of cars doesn’t interest us, rally is about having the right car and we intend to give you those cars. These 17 are just to get us started and we’ll be adding more cars over more classes as the year goes on.

36 Stages – Winding paths through forests, death defying drops off hillsides and narrow mountain paths are what this is all about. It’s you, your codriver and your car versus the road ahead and to get us started we’ll be heading to the muddy forest tracks of Wales, the dusty trails of Greece and the icy tarmac of the legendary Monte Carlo rally.

A-Synchronous Events – Take on the world in Daily, Weekly and Monthly challenges. These are the ultimate tests of skill and determination and it’s going to take everything you have to finish on top.

Simulation handling – We’ve accurately recreated how every part of the car works and to support this we’ve developed a brand new physics model which simulates everything from the way the surface of the road behaves to limited slip differentials. This is how these cars drive and to achieve this we’ve had our very own rally driver on staff working alongside the most talented car handling designers in the world. We’ve had countless visitors in from the world of rally, rallycross and friends from the community, helping us to make sure that we’ve got it as right as we can, ready for you.

Team Management – Hire and fire your crew members, each of which will have different skills improving repair times for different parts of the car, unlock new perks as they gain experience and work together as a team to improve your performance in events.

League Support – Get together with friends and run your very own racing league. You can join up to six leagues at any one time and run them how and when you want. For more information on setting up and joining a racing league visit dirtgame.com

As a thank you for supporting us during Early Access we are giving you a special DiRT Rally livery for the Subaru Impreza 1995.

Pikes Peak Pack

Scheduled date May 2015
Pikes Peak returns to DiRT. Rebuilt from the ground up and now featuring the modern full tarmac route alongside the mixed surface variant. Scheduled date June 2015
This month we’re heading to Germany to tackle some of the most technical and challenging tarmac stages in the world.

Totally agreed. Act 1 was great, but Act 2 is kind of crap. I didn't have a problem with the tube because it was a variation of the Full Throttle puzzle so I was in that Shafer mindset. But some of the things, like the low gravity timing bullshit, that was pretty dumb. Felt like artificial padding.

Edit: Also isn't it funny that utensils are some of the best characters in the game?

I think you can just ask another backer for theirs since it's not a key but rather the password to the backer build. DF having Valve set up per-account passwords seems like a lot of work for virtually zero gain.

Now that Konami is short of both Igarashi (yeah i know his 3D-games sucked) and Kojima Konami really hit rock bottom for me. At this point all I expect them to do is to go out of business at some point but I guess that the Phantom Pain money will manage to keep that corpse alive for some time.

But I'm really curious to see what franchise they are trying to resurrect at this years E3 now that the Silent Hill reboot is due for another reboot. A reboot I would really love to see is a Dark Souls-esque Castlevania because imo Dark Souls is what a proper 3D-Castlevania should feel like. But oh well, not going to happen. Maybe a generic FPS reboot of Contra? :D

Edit: It's been edited now and shows "3 entrants", I guess it was ModBot slacking. Nothing to see here.

PSA: There appears to be an unclaimed Steam key for Dead Space 2 in cyba89's giveaway here.

Not sure if the key has been claimed but ModBot didn't edit, cause I tried to claim it many times since Saturday with no success. I know the rules MULTIENTRY and NOWINNERSDAILY are combined to prevent someone from winning more than one game from the same raffle, but I thought the restriction only applied to the first 24 hours after the draw, but apparently it's perpetual. So someone who didn't win from that giveaway and wants Dead Space 2 should try that.

There's also a copy of To The Moon, but I know nobody wants that :p
