I'm hoping to use a badass greatsword either from kalameet or Gwyn, been switching off between my Zwei+10 and Demons Mace +10 most of the time. Don't know where to keep placing stats at this point honestly. Was thinking of maybe pumping Vit or End up a bit more, wondering if I should maybe toss something into Dex, don't know if I need it for the greatswords though.

The highest dex requirement for a greatsword is 18, so assuming you'll be two handing any greatsword you get you should be fine with 12 dex.

Honestly I'm to the point where I feel I don't even need a shield anymore. The feeling is kinda awesome having just come off Bloodborne since my first Dark Souls playthrough last year I did a Dex build and I was hiding behind a shield almost the whole game. Then again I feel way stronger now in the first place, my Zwei is ripping through enemies like it's no problem, not to mention many regular no big assholes all get swatted down bad from my Heavy attack. The Silver Knights of Anor Londo became the easiest enemies ever lol.

I totally feel you on that. The key to success in Souls games is confidence. I played through DS incredibly dependent on my shield. When I played DSII I went power stanced greatswords and its a totally different feeling and I played way more aggressive. And theres not much more satisfying than a perfectly timed roll, especially compared to just taking a whack to the shield.

Holy Shit Prototype 2.

That final encounter was everything I wanted it to be. Prototype 2 really is everything 1 should have been and I enjoyed 1 for the time it came out. Shame that for some reason it was a Bomba, must have been the release date and lack of advertising. As I was saying earlier 2 really does fix everything people had a issue with in 1. The port is very good, the story is one hell of an improvement, the main character is great, and the gameplay improvements add a lot. I started today and basically didn't put it down until I was done. About all I can really say negatively is that it really sucks that were not getting a 3. Well that and the ending for 2 is pretty abrupt, but at least isn't too sequel baity.

I think I was better off not knowing this fight existed, the idea of this fight is really lame, and he can 1 shot you like it's no thing. Pretty much a precursor to another horribly bad fight in Bloodborne except Gwyndolin is actually difficult and can kill you lol. I hate this bosses where you just chase the dude and try to get one hit in before he runs away again.

Edit: fuck it I'm done with this fight. This is gonna be the first time I ever give up on a boss in this series. This boss is up there with Pinwheel, this whole fight is shit

None of the numbers for f2p games mean anything beyond "clicked the button once that attached it to your account." Honestly all these lists people are making should delete everything f2p, it doesn't mean anything useful and just clogs up the list. That said, Unturned was pretty popular for a little while (62k peak players).

Yea the data definitely needs some cleaning up. Unturned is not the third most popular game in Steam history.

That said, I don't know if removing all F2P games would be the best idea. That could skew player data in other directions. I'd say a reasonable compromise would be to only count those who had bought DLC linked to the specific F2P games. So in the case of Unturned, that would be the gold account upgrade.

Yep, I'm thinking the same thing as well.
If they want to add f2p games to owned games list, it should be the DLC or packs that f2p games have.

Do we know if there's any way to track DLC owned? Because it really doesn't seem like it. But yes, I agree, the only meaningful thing to track would be DLC. But it still wouldn't give you a clear idea because of ingame purchasing and such. A separate f2p list might have some value, and the "played this week" numbers have some value, but acting like XX million people "own" Loadout or whatever is just silly and distracts from actual sales numbers.

I have no idea what is going on in that thread, but I too am sad about HolyBaikal's ban. I mean I get why it happened, but I really wish it wasn't a permaban. RIP in peace.

Yeah, amazing thread. OP has balls of steel to be able to be so honest.
About HolyBaikal, i didnt hate him/her, but he always rubbed me the wrong way, as if he/she was either trolling, or just really dense, and didnt really accept other points of views or arguments.
With that said, i'm sad that he/she got banned, much like Derrick. Both were people that even if i disagreed most of the time, felt like interesting points of views to read, and with unique opinions.

Now, back to steam:
After doing that 100% run of Arkham Asylum, i thought i should do Arkham City too, but after seeing how many challenges i must do...fuck. Not sure i have the willpower of patience to do that.

I could do a writeup on HolyBaikal's antics.

So at first HolyBaikal seems like some sort of caricature poster, but if you actually bother to read his stuff, it just shows he's a foreigner (more specifically a westerner) incorporating japanese themes into his interpretation of japanese culture. Pretty sure that's why he got his tag 'Japanese Culture Expert'.

And that's all fine, but he really believed in social justice, and he would attempt to incorporate japanese culture into his arguments, and any person who knows anything about japanese culture know that's something that doesn't work very well.

Like he would firmly believe about sexual equality, including the way both genders are treated, as well as their capabilities. Now scientific facts tell us the fairer sex is weaker, due to biology, but that doesn't stop HolyBaikal. I'm pretty sure he's drawing from the fact that in anime/manga/games, female characters are as powerful as male characters. And that's totally fine, but its fiction. That's not how it works in real life. Pretty sure that argument is what got him perm banned in the end.

And then he would talk about porn/hentai and how it makes him sad that chocola (the black cat from Nekopara) was crying during happy fun time with her owner in the uncensored version. Only those weren't tears. Yeah... those were the days.

And then he would wax on and on about pronouns, when any 'Japanese Culture Expert' can tell you that the japanese aren't exactly concerned about that due to the presence of unisex pronouns, and the fact that calling someone by a pronoun can sometimes be deemed offensive. Doesn't stop HolyBaikal in his holy crusade.

So yeah. He obviously didn't know anything he was talking about, and he derailed topics wherever he went. I would have liked him to stick around for the popcorn moments though.

Well, i don't actively hate Transformers movies, and it's not like the F&F franchise is a work of art, but that comparison just feels absurd.
It's really sad to know that Michael Bay was able to make a movie so fun to watch like The Rock, but nowadays churns out really bad movies.
Why do i feel like we're derailing the thread? :p

Played through Half-Life 2 with the new Community Mod. All in two days. Playtime of 12 hours. (just checked and realized I have the highest playtime among all of my friendslist)

What can I say what hasn't been said already about Half-Life 2? The game is a classic and even after 11 years it is still a blast.

I like that the Update Mod doesn't tamper at all with the original artstyle. Leaves a more original taste with some better effects etc. I assume. Would need side by side comparisons to see those though. Didn't matter to tbh. Just an excuse to play it :)

The game is not perfect though. I didn't enjoy the boat/buggy sections. Nice to have a change of pace but Nova Prospect is probably my favorite level. Just great fun shooting combines with a shotgun in the face at every corner.
Towards the end, the game got better and better. The end level and gameplay was brilliant and is totally a great send-off.

Get the urge to play the episodes tomorrow, haha.

Half-Life is a series very dear to me. It was the first FPS whose world got me heavily interested. The secret underground science facility setting from the first game was so very to my liking. Actually I prefer it to the eastern European setting. I like that science is a somewhat important theme.

Great games both. Still don't know if Valve will pull a similar huge change for HL3 like they did from HL1 to HL2.
