I'm embarrassingly in this situation as well.

I don't necessarily consciously boycott games without them, but it's effectively a boycott of sorts nonetheless because they end up on permanent backlog. If you were to tally up the average playtime of games in my library with and without achievements, the disparity would be massive, so there's a definite cost-vs-playtime calculation to be made there.

Edit: Come to think of it, if I were a gamer in the arcade era instead, I'd probably have spent hundreds of dollars in quarters trying to top High Score charts. Guess being born later saved me that money drain at least.

I'm with you on this. I don't care about gamer score or whatever, but achievements add enough of an incentive to play (and play thoroughly) that I'm likelier to play 100 hours of a game with than I am to play 8 hours of a game without.

Witcher 1 is one of the best western style RPGs ever made.
Witcher 2 is very pretty and fun.

Also there is a lot of political intrigue that is left unresolved at the end of 2. I'm thinking it would be best to play them.

I found Witcher 1 to be a drag to play with clumsy and terrible combat. I put it down somewhere in the first chapter.

Its is regular, most of the 3rd parties want to get stuff announced before E3 because we will only ever see about a minute of the game and most of them will be drowned out by other bigger games or announcements.

Dieselpunk RPG InSomnia returns after 7 months of cryogenic hibernation

InSomnia vanished rather quickly after it appeared. The dieselpunk RPG set on a dirty space station, travelling towards an evacuation point for 400 years, had its Kickstarter cancelled by the developers early on due to feedback. They weren’t getting their game across, leaving potential funders unsure about what it was.

But now it’s back with a new trailer and plans for another Kickstarter and Greenlight campaign commencing on June 23rd. Take a gander below.

Beyond the interesting industrial with a spot of art deco aesthetic, the preview trailer is a bit on the dull side, but InSomnia makes some compelling promises.

Developers MONO say that it will feature branching dialogue, puzzles, points of no return and tough decisions. Non-linear quests can be completed alone or with a chums - it’s a solo/co-op RPG, not an MMO - and you can go where you want, when you want, regardless of whether or not you’ll be able to handle it.

In co-op, all players can make decisions and affect the main storyline, which begs the question: how? Old Republic tried to do the same thing, and it ended up being down to a lucky dice roll, which is not particularly compelling way to influence the universe.

We’ll no doubt find out how that’s going to work come the launch of the Kickstarter later this month.

It was upper midrange on release. The Nvidia cards are rated based on the last 2 numbers. So that's a 6 series, 70 card. 70 and above are usually the cards to get if you ask me, so depending on when you bought it and how much you paid you probably made a fine choice.

these are the sacrifices we make. I have a beefier 560ti and it's started to age. Still one hell of a card. I can play most things cranked up to 1080 with near max, just have to start disabling some of the prettier eye candy.
