Really got in the mood last night and played Dark Souls 2 for a very long time. Got sleepy just when I hit Drangleic Castle :O
So far my favorite area was the Iron Keep but I feel this may take the crown.
Don't know why but I am liking the bosses in DS2 more than in DS1. DS1 stil had very cool ones but I am enjoying the many more bosses with some being huge and some small. Old Iron King was a fun surprise and so was Dear Freja. I totally misjudged that one and summoned a Human Phantom and an NPC, haha. Almost didn't land a single blow. Same with Iron King; took two human helpers with me.
Smelter Demon was surprisingly the toughest boss though. Costed me 3 Human Effigies to summon folks -_-

Anyway, I bumped the resolution a bit and it frames are now at 25-35 down from 30-55. But the extra eyecandy is worth it

It was a nice change-of-pace boss but sadly the Undead Purgatory didn't have much to offer afterwards :/

Well the smart thing to do would be to take control of a bunch of orcs before you engage, and even send them in first. Do these captains have any specific fears? Take advantage of them even if they are not your target. Eliminate them 1 by 1. Use hit and run tactics. It's not hard if you use the games mechanics.

EDIT: Also, try to take control of one of the captains mid combat as they can do a ton in your favour.

Thing is I can't get them 1 on 1. Even if I can get them peeled half way through the white action for interrogating I get hit and knocked out. And majority of the time I spend is countering and doing no damage.

Shadow of Mordor is getting very annoying. I barely start game and I can't run anywhere. Get to one captain and than 3 other captains join in. Why is..everybody a captain Oo

It's one of those game concepts that is just really poorly implemented and has really transparent rules that ruin any possible magic moments it could create. At the end of the game it just feels like you are working a spreadsheet.

Linux partition is finalized, grub fixed (was having issues with the Linux bootloader), with Steam installed and ready for Cities: Skylines and Hotline Miami 2's release.

I'm working on customizing the install with various fonts, colors, and window managers.

These type of mics have a setting that is called Cardioid for picking up sounds directly in front of the microphone. This avoids background noise, but you can also diminish these by reducing your gain setting (I have mine set to 0).

Whenever I'm playing multiplayer games, I have the Yeti situation right in front of my face and tilted to catch sound. I can still see the screen perfectly fine and it optimally picks up my voice.

I will say, I have only heard great things about the modmic. If you think using a desktop mic is awkward or not worth the hassle, I would go with that option.

Looking good. The swordplay looks a bit too indirect imo. Almost all videos they have shown, had airborne enemies. I think they really banked on that aspect.
