I never managed to finish back in the day when I had a PS3. Even if I no longer have the console I still have this game packed with other small collectibles.

Was this port well received when it comes to performance and visuals? No major issues? I'm tempted but I think I'll hold for the 75% Off in the future for budget reasons. I can wait so all is good!

I think one of the only major issues was taking double damage with the framerate at 60FPS, not sure if there was ever a fix for that. As far as I know though, it's considered to be an excellent port and worth the investment for whenever you get around to it.

Yes, it's wonderful. Grab it!

Actually the bug was more liek a fix. It's still managable, but you can't use the lame Scout rush on 60 fps anymore. At least not as easy as before.

I suspect that Valve will finally launch a new version of the client once they've reached their goal of offloading as much as possible to the hands of the community. It'd be their last action for the service before flying up into the clouds, never to be seen again, while the service is run like some sort of twisted, perpetual rube goldberg machine.

The double damage was only on cross fire (no, not about AMD cards) supposedly dealing more damage than usual. And sometimes tank have problem at climbing up hills. It's quite minor I think, there's also an option for 30fps.
I play it on 60fps, and I don't think it make the game any significantly harder. I said it make Extreme Skirmish impossible before, but I retract that statement after tried it again and get A rank.

It's amazing port for an amazing game, imho.

What I don't understand is Valve's reluctance to hinder outside (aka "Crowd Sourced") client development. GOG Galaxy is exciting to me because they've essentially given people permission to tinker with their web APIs and services and to even build an entirely new client around them if you'd like.

I understand the difference between DRM and DRM-free, of course, but the Steam client itself could be easily modified (by Valve) to be more modular and to allow additional features to be built on top of it by mod or skin developers. Doing so would essentially give them yet another avenue to explore what people create and to increase customer satisfaction.

But... Valve.

Thank you all my good people! This is the sort of positive feedback I was hoping. I will grab it when it goes at 75% probably. I think I only invested 10 hours or so in the console version back in the day and I liked the sort of strategy that the game offered back then. Should be interesting to play at 1080p.

I was talking about the complaints regarding the spamming of threads when BB was launching versus the lack thereof now with the Witcher 3 coming out. My Steamgaf brethren seem unwilling to call a spade a spade regarding the overkill in threads and all im sayin' is that people are being inconsistent regarding this issue.

Mind you, this comes from someone who has TW3 preordered on PC and hasn't played a second of BB so I'm coming from a reasonable place.
