Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Already have Guacamelee. It's nice. Batman is kind of shit.

Will check the rest, thanks guys. How about Dust Elysian Tail and Valdis Story?

Really enjoyed both. Valdis Story is more of a Metroidvania and significantly more difficult. The platforming doesn't feel great but the combat is excellent and compares favorably to a 3D character action game done in 2D. There's a good amount to go back for and replay too. Dust is level based and follows a more or less A->B story progression, but is fun and very well made.

Oh wow. Ark devs got blown up on the steam community boards. People upset about it being a daily when it wasn't discounted any further. One of the dev's showed up, said it was because they didnt' want to lower it because they didn't want to upset people who already got it.

Then when that got a negative reaction, he backpedaled and said it was because Valve told them not to make it any cheaper than the normal deal because it was such a new game.

Now he is saying that they reached out to Valve to try and get the price adjusted lower or removed from the daily deals all together, but no response yet.

Attempting to have a rational discussion on the Steam forums is a mistake.

How is Ori and the Blind Forest? Looks great, but it's only 40% off..

It just came out.
It's very good.

I feel bad returning stuff. Anyone return more than 1 game? I feel guilty. I don't know why though.
I returned two games at the same time the other day. I felt a little guilty since both were smaller companies, but I really don't want to keep games I wouldn't enjoy. The guilt has since faded.

For Ori, did they fix it where the game would randomly crash/delete save files?

Was that a PC issue?

edit: It seems that it's related to their computers crashing for whatever reason. They did recently patch the game a few times to fix other save issues, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did something to fix the corruption of those saves. If not, you could still make multiple saves after major story points.

Dumb question time. The monster deals are pretty much the same as daily and flash sales right? If a game is one of the monster deals then that's the lowest it's going to go, correct?

Tough predicament but really, why is it hogging a daily deal slot? It's been a top seller for days and didn't exactly need the front page positioning to do it.

So, crazy DLC debacle aside, is Evolve any good?

I loved both Left 4 Dead games, and I really want to play Evolve, but haven't been willing to spend the money on it, and none of my actual friends have it, so I would probably be playing with either randoms or Gaffers.

It does Hunt extremely well, its just there isnt really anything else to it. Solo queueing is terrible so unless you have a dedicated group for it I wouldnt recommend it.

Yeah, the real issue here is why Steam allows a game to be featured as a daily without an additional discount. It's fine if the dev doesn't want to do a daily discount (not that I would support that decision with a purchase...), but if that's the case then it should never get picked.

This has been a pretty underwhelming sale; I haven't bought anything yet, and it doesn't look like the discounts today are really all that great. I do regret not picking up Deus Ex HR when it was on sale but hopefully it'll come back in the encores. I bought more off the Humble Store Summer Sale than I did here.

I'm considering grabbing Life is Strange off Nuuvem though. Anyone know if I can activate it in the US?

Ok. So far I've only done one. But might do another. I feel like I just demoed it which isn't a bad thing. Hmm

I honestly have no idea what you've been going on about.

I'm thinking you aren't looking hard enough. I've bought 6 games today (Ori, Rayman Origins, and Rainbow Six Collection) and I've been using Steam for 10 years.

This is one of the better days of the sale as well.

Tom Clancy Franchise sale. Do you have Chaos Theory? No? Buy it.
Ori
Life is Strange
Shovel Knight
Age of Wonders
Sim City 4/Banished/Anno are awesome city builders
FTL
Spec Ops
Arma III (go look up Frankie's Altis life mod videos)
Euro Truck 2
Pillars of Eternity
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines

All of these games are awesome and all on the front page in one form or another.

That's one reason the refund feature is there. Not liking a game is a legitimate reason you can put. Maybe this will make developers put out demos more? Even so, I did feel guilty for a bit.

Auto clicker is bad for getting higher levels. If you are using an autoclicker or any of the damaging abilities you are probably messing up your room's progress.

Grief, is Double Agent worth it? I've only played the PS2 one.

Double Agent is the 360/PS3/PC version which is apparently a downgrade from the Double Agent on Xbox/GC/PS2. The latter was actually developed by the same team behind Chaos Theory.

I've never played it so I can't speak to anything personally.

How's the performance for Dying Light on PS4? Might as well just order a disc version from Amazon.

Sub 30? How the hell would we know?

Cheaper on indie gala by the way.

so , this script do the auto click ?
i don't see doing that

You DON'T autoclick. And you DON'T nuke. As weird as it sounds, the less DPS a room has, the higher its level is going to be, because scripts spam wormholes like madmen on gold helm levels, because they stack and are 10 level jumps instead of 1 level jumps.

Upgrading auto-cannon, using autoclicker and nukes will actually mess up the progress.

So am I correct in thinking that the general consensus of Lords of Shadow 2 and Strider are not really worth playing through? I tried the demo for Lords of Shadow 2 and it seemed decent.

Applesauce

Boom! Bitch-slapped!
I had around 80 more games on my WL before this sale than the last, due in large part to going through my queue every day and adding games I like. I started with 105, whittled down to 92 and haven't even spent $60. And the majority of titles I got were mac compatible so I can play them on-the-go to boot. This has definitely been my most active sale since getting into PC gaming. I'm probably dropping another $10 - $15 on the last day if nothing else goes on flash / daily, too.

Doing any kind of damage is very very bad. That includes autoclicking, using abilities, upgrading the cannon etc..
If you do any kind of damage and kill a boss what you are actually doing is advancing the room by just 1 level instead of 100,000 or even a million levels by using wormholes.
