Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Everyone who needs to buy something right away should just go buy any of the Pixeljunk games, or all of them.

Pixeljunk Eden - €1.79

Pixeljunk Monsters - €1.79

Pixeljunk Shooter - €1.79

They're great games, small and short so that they won't mess up your backlog, and they won't go any cheaper then this.

Thanks man. I have these on psn and didn't even know they had a pc release. Most definitely picking up monsters.

Yeah, this deal is super tempting to me

As someone who's never played Xcom is it worth it?

I have a huge backlog, but this just seems too good to pass up
It is excellent, especially with the (completely free) Long War mod. But make sure you get Enemy Within. It's better than the vanilla game, and you need it to play the mod.

All of you buying the games that aren't dailies/flash, I hope you guys don't complain when the better discounts come along!

NO COMPLAINING ALLOWED.

SIAP, but Ether One is 75% for the entire sale.

I am really interested in games like this, but they inevitably give me motion sickness. I think the concepts are great and hope one day I try one that doesn't make me want to hurl.

With refunds available on Steam, why worry about flash and daily sales? Just return and rebuy. You guys don't need to take a hard line stance no more.

Looks like Zeboyd Games' RPGs are 85%-94% off, so this is likely as low as they'll go during the sale:
Breath of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves the World Bundle - $0.44
Penny Arcade On The Rainslick Precipice of Darkness 3 and 4 Bundle - $0.47
Penny Arcade On The Rainslick Precipice of Darkness 3 - $0.39
Penny Arcade On The Rainslick Precipice of Darkness 4 - $0.39

The Half-Minute Hero 1&2 Bundle is also a really good price: $2.49 ($1.88 each for the 4-pack) and $0.24 for the DLC. But at 75% off, there still is a slim chance that it might be a daily/flash later on. So keep that in mind.

It's probably a good time to repost the rule-of-thumb I wrote last sale for the likelihood of whether a sale item will have a lower price via a daily/flash/community deal. It's related to the item's regular (non-daily) discount:
0%-74% off: Has a comparatively strong shot at being a daily/flash/community deal. Wait until the last day of the sale before buying, to see if it becomes a daily/flash/community deal.

75% off: This discount point used to be part of the above category, but last sale, a few 75%ers (e.g. ETS2, SMB) became Daily/Flash/Community deals. It might be best to wait until the last day.

76%-100% off: You're pretty safe buying these whenever you want, as they almost never become Daily/Flash/Community deals. The only exceptions are the games that are part of a major currently-running franchise (e.g. Elder Scrolls), as their discount might be bumped up during the current entry's daily/community/flash promotion.

How is Mirror's Edge MORE expensive this sale than when I bought it ~5+ years ago?

I know I got it for $5 during the Summer Sale last year.

However, the current pricing seems to be an error on Valve's part. If you look at its store page, the sale price isn't listed as a Daily Deal.

I have Recettear, but would you recommend the others?

I recommend checking out the demos if you have the time. I played a bit of Chantelise, but I just remember it getting tough before I decided to quit. I've been meaning to pick up Fortune Summoners, so I may do that now.

Is this a good deal? I'm not sure I've ever seen these games before.

Recettear is really good. That's all I can cosign at the moment.

The Capre Fulgur bundle is now 80% off ($9.98) and each game is 75% off alone.

Yep, it went live without applying the focus discount - the 55% off is for the entire sale. Backends! How do they work.

But yes, we're 80% off for the next 20 hours, and 75% off for the individual titles if you want to pick those up.

And yeah, if anyone newly purchased the games at the 55% mark thinking that was our focus price, just refund it and re-buy it! In this instance, at least, the new refund system will work out extremely well. (Though I'm a little uncertain how it even works for bundles like that. We'll find out!)

Is this a good deal? I'm not sure I've ever seen these games before.

I think they're rather decent, but I may be slightly biased.

They're decent enough and some people love them but I don't know if I can't recommend it :p

:( They're good games! Where else can you find a brutal capitalism simulator wrapped in a shell of adorableness? Nowhere, that's where, even after all this time.

This game is so laggy! Hopefully that gets sorted out. Do the metro redux versions add anything great over the normal versions? I have both normal versions but haven't played 2 yet. Might get the better version if there's a reason to.

2033 Redux adds the new mechanics from Last Light to the game and is in the new engine, Last Light Redux is basically a GOTY edition.
