Game is fantastic.

It's got a killer premise that quite frankly, I can't believe hasn't been explored in the decades since OG Doom hit the scene.

The game is relaxing and Zen. Great for OCD completionists.

Quality game design and coding. Lots of maps (14 and counting) and environmental variety.

That's happening to me too. Monsters repopulating, but no game. We've been stuck on level 50 for like an hour or more so I'm sure this is happening to everyone in my game.

Edit: There are definitely 100 levels, because the badge can drop 10 backgrounds and each has a boss on it.

You either love it or find it mediocre, the vast amount of people on GAF seem to have found it mediocre. I fall into that camp.

But the signs aren't good. We know we can count on indies, which will always be great (and they deserve a few extra bones anyway), but the pricing precedent set by Rockstar/Take-Two and FIRAXIS (dear, dear Firaxis) doesn't bode well for the already traditionally-stingy Activision and Ubi. It's going to be 2018 before I play Far Cry 4 at this rate.

It sounds entitled, I know. I'm sad to see the days of companies desperately trying to pull this market segment out of piracy-hell with extremely deep discounts leaving us behind. I understand that games are expensive as hell now and they need this money more than ever. Maybe I just don't like change. This used to be an exciting day. Now it's just another Black Friday for me to not give a shit about.

I'm not actually depressed about it, but the best times are over. I guess I'll buy more books in the future.

I'm curious to see what Square Enix does in the coming years. They've enhanced their position in a pretty big way with PC gamers lately. I don't expect them to shit all over people in this sale, but we'll see what happens in the winter.

I was seeing the occasional gold increase so at least I think the game is still somewhat progressing.

I think it's affecting many games. Earlier I died and couldn't respawn and the counter was frozen on 16 seconds for half hour and the lanes weren't progressing.

I think they didn't expect it to be that popular and their server are overloaded like on every sale.

well, the first question in the OP is:

Q: What is the general rule of thumb when it comes to purchasing?
A: During the Summer Sale, virtually everything is discounted and there are featured deals with greater discounts on the front page of the store. If an item/franchise is a featured deal, then it is at its lowest price. There is no difference in price between the various types of featured deals (e.g. short of a mistake, a game being 75% off as a Daily Deal will also be 75% off as a Flash Sale).

That's what was happening to me until it completely lagged out. My advice, don't close and try to get back in. Just let it idle there and hope it works itself out eventually.

If you mean EW being jacked to $50, that does seem to have been false (or fixed). So I might retract that.

That's not as easy as it sounds. Sales change. Flash sales used to be announced in 8-hour intervals, but since last one I think they got lengthened by half. Community deals used to be voted up, now it's apparently this game thing. Ah well.

This mini-game is irritating me so much. The DPS changes like crazy which may be down to people stopping playing but then the health of an enemy just won't change for like 10 seconds, even if I am doing 3,000 per click on my own.

Currently stuck on Level 20 with an endless respawn of tanky bosses. Should I just restart? I still don't get what this game does to benefit anything. You get gold to get upgrades.. then what?

Don't restart. I left an extremely active game with 800 people per lane for a friend's game. It had 300 people per lane and was practically dead. You lose all your upgrades to boot. Restarting seems to be a terrible idea unless the game you're in already sucks. The game I was in got hung up on level 20 for a long while, but eventually it moved on and zoomed through the 10 that followed. You will too.

Yeah, that's kinda crappy of them. Not as bad as the price jacking (which is probably illegal) that's happening on other games, but still crappy.
