I HIGHLY recommend Red Faction Guerilla, it is my game of the generation. Just make sure to play it on EASY because the game is frustration at all other difficulty levels. Also, the last level is amazing! But the game becomes super fun once you get the jetpack

I didn't think it was that bad on normal.

Agreed on everything (well... it's one of my favorite games of the generation not THE best for me :p). I've heard bad things about the PC port, though (I played it on 360) but for $2.50 if it wins it should be worth it. I loved that game, the destructibility is so fun. I was so disappointed when the sequel was announced as a linear game and then it got disappointing reviews.

:( Why THQ?

I didn't think it was that bad on normal.

It's only bad on certain missions, so maybe play it on normal and toggle it to easy on a couple (that's what I did).

Enemies just have too good of aim from too far away. It gets to be really annoying.

Will do.

I'm crap at RPGs, hopelessly so. It's something I'll need to keep plugging away at. This is probably heresy but I wish you could play it more like Borderlands, with the shooting manual instead of using V.A.T.S. Thanks for the responses.

It's been a while since I last played Fallout 3 or New Vegas but I seem to remember that V.A.T.S. is optional and that you can play it as a pure FPS if you want.

Don't worry, the frame rate crawls when there's a lot of destruction, but otherwise it's a great port. I played the game on 4850, then a 5850, with the super graphics card these days, maybe the game runs at 60 FPS at all times?

I didn't think it was that bad on normal.

I didn't like it on normal, I only had fun with it on easy.

I foolishly bought New Vegas without the DLC, I am looking to pick up maybe one of them. Do you guys think any of the DLC's are must-haves?

I enjoyed Fallout 3 thoroughly, but The Pitt, Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta were huge wastes of money in my opinion. I did not enjoy the story in any of them (never bought Point Lookout or Broken Steel, which I believe was a mistake considering the latter increased level caps).

avoid dead money!

old world blues/honest hearts are good and add vastly different areas

lonesome road is a road :) good but after those 2.

rest dlc are items. expansions have unique items anyway

If you like blowing shit up, or driving through shit, or the idea of hammering down entire buildings bit by bit appeals to you, check out Red Faction Guerrilla. If there is a game that does destruction better, I'd like to know about it so I can play it.

I can do a trade if anyone needs/wants to. Whatever game you want me to gift you for Ys: The Oath in Felghana (roughly equal trade like DS2). Ys is $5.09, but it's like the only game around $5 I want that I don't think will be much cheaper soon.

Is anyone else not having the store load at all within a browser or the steam client? Not my screenshot but it's what my community page looks like right now

It's been like this since last night and it sucks, I have to use the mobile storefront to look at any deals.

Same for me - since last night. The site works fine at work but this morning on my desktop it still wouldn't load. Mobile app works fine, even on my home wifi.

I am interested in Hard reset and Binary Domain..

any input?

Hard Reset is decent but suffers from pretty awful checkpointing. I played through the game on Insane, but don't really recommend that. Normal or one bump up in difficulty and the game is a dream to play.

Binary Domain is goofy fun. Not the best PC port, but if you can suffer through the crappy mouse controls then it's worth it.

hard reset= like quake and oldskool shooters. if you like that its a good shooter

binary domain you will need a controller(port has xbox buttons shown everywhere) but works ok with kb/mouse
if you like 3rd person shooters its a fine action/adventure. you can wait until it gets cheaper than 40%

Nothing quite like doing a hostage rescue mission by driving a huge truck off a ramp THROUGH the building the hostages are in then stepping and sledge hammering a couple of dazed enemies through one of the remaining walls.

Who cares if you killed a hostage or two with your crash landing? They shouldn't have been in the way in the first place.

I played RF on ps3 but this reminded me how good it was. Will double dip.

Just gotta make up my mind on F3. Either I get that or I wait for BD Or GTA SA.

Mobile app is working because it's an encrypted https connection. You'll notice that https versions of store.steampowered.com work on the browser too (try https://store.steampowered.com/join/ for yourself), but the standard http sites are being throttled somewhere down the pipe by 1/1000th of the speed needed.

How's the online community? If it goes on sales again I'll definitely pick it up.

So far it seems really well stocked.
I've hosted about 5 games of the first level so far and have had a full team either prior to the mission starting or under a minute of it beginning.

I'm guessing the cheap price will have helped the community out no end.

I'm yet to meet any dicks too which is always a nice element.

Broke down and bought PoP '08 and PixelJunk Eden. Now my damage list is looking a little more respectable:

Alan Wake
Alan Wake: American Nightmare
PixelJunk: Eden
Prince of Persia (2008)
Rayman Origins
Skyrim

Operation Anchorage produced the finest armor of any Fallout Game, the Chinese Stealth Armor. lol That armor along with the Terrible Shotgun made me a Darkclaw killer. They stood absolutely no chance.

People claim Hard Reset is a great classic style FPS. I don't see it. Great FPS though it may be, it does not have the structure of a classic FPS, games like Doom and Duke3d. What I played was very linear. I hate the weapon system. You have to select between a modern-looking weapon, and then a more futuristic weapon. And THEN those two guns have their own modes - I think four each. So you have to press two keys in order to switch to a certain gun, unless the other one you want is on the same 'type' of gun you already have selected. It's a bit of a pain, and could have been easily fixed with extra keybinds.

Haven't touched Binary Domain.

Damages:

Legend of Grimrock
Tropico 4 Bundle
Witcher 2
Arkham City Harley Quinn DLC
Monkey island Special Edition bundle

Sitting at about $46 spent and hoping for a Crysis 2 sale.

I'm hoping Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth goes a bit over the current discount, I've got the original xbox version but it might be better playing on the pc.

Picking up PoP:SoT and TFS since so many people recommend it. I did enjoy playing SoT on my ps2, but some of the puzzles + platform is kinda hard.

I think Binary Domain is a great tps. But then i always like the shooters people think that suck.

It has good graphics and great gunplay. The take parts of enemy off is nice. Plus not annoying Boss battles. Except one. that one sucked.

Cave Story owns owns owns

edit: Hard Reset is an OK game for cheap. It's very short (I think I beat it in like 4 hours before the new DLC). It really is gorgeous, great colors. I guess it's kind of 'old school' in that you need to strafe around a lot and there's no cover shooting, but it's not very mechanically complex and there's not a lot of enemy variety.

still fun for those 4 hours and I'll probably play through the added DLC

Yes and no. Some things are clever and you have to be fast at them. Co op is a blast though. Combine the amazing visuals at perfect IQ with 3 player online and that 3.74 price, greatness.

The visuals are absolutely amazing. And in 3D @ 1080P, I think it could turn even the biggest 3D hater. But I'm stuck at a puzzle right now where I've figured out two different solutions I could take if playing with two players. But with a single player, I'm just flat out stumped. If I could conjure up a swingable triangle or if the switches would stay put, I could solve it. But as is, I'm left scratching my head like a retard.
