I suspect that this is intentional. It makes you linger on it for a few more seconds, just long enough to give you a slight visual disorientation due to its colour scheme.

No steam badge has lived up to the first one I made in last years winter sale, which gave me a foil card that I was able to sell for five bucks. Everything has been disappointment since then. Not that I deserve what I wish I could get. I just want to get a token of the winning team to sell it.
