Tropico 3 and Two World II are tempting. Impressions anyone?

Tropico 3 is a no brainer at that price, for $5.00 pick it up with the expansion. It's an excellent game. City builder with some very interesting and unique dynamics.

Jesus christ, getting BioShock 2 to even launch was a massive faff on. Not had a problem like that with a PC game for years...

Bioshock 2 has Securom DRM, it is really stupid that they haven't removed it yet. Securom is malware as far as I'm concerned, though I'm not sure if that is related to the problem you are having.

The Ass Creed pack is awesome. UBI playing games with the Ass Creed Bro though.

Game was $29.99 yesterday. Today they jacked it up to $39.99 to give the game a look of a bigger discount of 50 percent versus being a 33 percent sale. Going to wait for a lower price on Ass Creed Bro. At least the digital deluxe version stayed at $49.99 and is now discounted to $24.99.

Honestly I've been annoyed with the lack of good Steamplay stuff on sale. You'll get a few games here and there, but I was hoping I could use this sale to pick up more indie/simple stuff for my Macbook Air since only like 40 of my 240 Steam games actually are Mac compatible alone, and of them only a few actually run decently.

btw, I just got here, so maybe I missed some torchlight discussion, but... ehrm... is it Diablo?

Basically. The original is sort of Diablo-lite in that it's fairly short, doesn't have multi-player, and only has 3 classes. It has shortcomings, but it will definitely scratch an itch if you like loot-whore games. It also does some interesting things like the pet that will drag items to town for you and sell them so you don't have to town portal back yourself. Worth checking out at the price if you're at all interested in the genre.

Sadly I'm going to pass on torchlight simply because with it being singleplayer only I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it. Whole point of loot-whore games to is showing off and trading said loot. I'm pumped for a version with online play though.

All transformers fans should get Transformers: War for Cybertron. Remember it mimics the cartoons rather than the movie. Great game with good graphics.

Oh dammit. Tempted to pick AC2, even I just bought it off of PSN for $10. I couldn't stand to play it on the PS3 because the framerate was shit.

So, I guess, I'll grab AC2 for ~$7 and hold off on Brotherhood for now.

Puts my total damage to $15. (Darksiders, Hoard, AC2)

Public Service Announcement: Don't buy The Polynomial, the gameplay is really bad. But it's fun to look at.

It was part of an Indie pack last year, if you've already got it the ticket takes less than 10 minutes

Bought A.R.E.S at 50% off, been meaning to buy it and with today's ticket being from that game I figured I could earn it at the same time :D

Well there's still 72-84 more games to be put up for sale, so there's likely to be more.

Nothing interesting today. Good, I've already spent more than I was expecting to. Torchlight is tempting, but so is the sequel, so I'll wait.

That Transformers sale is nicely timed.

I already have Torchlight, but I think seeing the deal I has convinced me to actually beat the game. I gotten part way through with each class, but I've never beaten it. I'll either start over with the Alchemist or just continue with the Vanquisher.

Also, I can't wait for Torchlight II. Seeing some of the videos, especially the Now Playing video on Gamespot, has gotten me hyped. The outdoor stuff seems really, really interesting. I'm betting the final class they're going to unveil has to be a mage class. The three classes they've shown don't seem mage-like, and mage classes are always my favorite.

I think 2 still has the shitty DRM. Settlers 7 still has it.
True. But it's a *little* better than before. Now they only check during launch.

I finally bit on AC2. I would have picked it up at or near full price if it wasn't for the DRM. Even so, I still feel bad about giving any money to Ubi for something like this. At least I can still say that they lost out on ~$45.

Now to find an AC2 crack...

Meh, worst day yet. Got MW2 and Transformers, so there's nothing interesting for me :<

concur. it was really annoying. its a prime example of harming the purchaser while the pirate has a superior experience (no shitty drm overlay / entering key into gfwl bs)

Torchlight should run if you don't have it! It's a great laptop game, though admittedly you would still need a mouse.

Extremely tempted to go for Tropico 3 gold.

$29.15 left in my bank account....

Do it.

Tropico 3 is bloody awesome, and the price it is atm. You're be stupid not too. I bought both the original and the expansion at full price, no regrets at all.

Hell, PM me you Steam name and I'll gift it to you if I have to

In other news, holy shit balls is Darksiders brilliant in 1080p 60fps. My god. I have already finished it on 360 but it was plagued with slow down, 30fps and tearing. Playing it now on my PC is just godly (wireless 360 controller of course, would imagine keyboard + mouse would suck ass). Just wish it was Games for Windows Live, have much invested in my Live achievements, don't care for Steam ones.

Damn Microsoft and their Achievements, I don't feel like I'm getting the most out of my games unless I am contributing something to my Live gamerscore these days, it's the only thing holding my back from going all PC these days.

Okay I have Tropico 3 - Steam Special Edition and Tropico 3 - Absolute Power on my steam list now. which one do I start ? :((

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
I wish just Dragon Age Origins: Awakenings was on sale. Theres the ultimate edition up, but I've set a limit of $50 for this sale and thats more than I want to spend with 7 days left, and I've already spent $15.

Yeah, but we still got some great indie games on sale. I had an absolute blast playing Horde last night with friends. And Space Chem is fantastic too.

It don't own Recetear year. Sucks that I missed that sale. I actually bought it for a friend and then got home too late after realizing I never bought a copy for myself. Now it's back up to $10.

Getting Recettear for $5 after I missed it this past holiday has made this sale a huge success for me. I already played through the story and will probably dive into the endless mode later. Survival mode sounds like the most stressful gaming experience in the world, though.

Hmm. What's the general consensus on Assassin's Creed 2? I tried AC1, but I didn't find it very fun, couldn't even finish the game on the 360, got boring quick. Is it more of the same?

ARES is a cool small side scrolling action/shooter. It doesn't overstay it's welcome either, as you can finish it in about 3 hours. The game isn't too tough as you can upgrade weapons and items but the final boss is a pain though! Easily worth 5 dollars.

I actually managed to run Torchlight on my old netbook. It was on the lowest possible settings, but it's still remarkable since the very same laptop couldn't even run Super Meat Boy. It's a great little game and it's a smart choice for anyone with old hardware.

Hmm... Seems Steam will not let me add funds to my newly created alt account.

Oh wells. I suppose I don't need AC.

Got it day one. I'm looking more for games like Toki Tori, which is one of the two games I've gotten so far. I'd totally buy Frozen Synapse if it was a daily, but I'm just gonna wait it out til the end of the sale for something like that.

I hated the first game and loved 2 and Brotherhood, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone. AC1 isn't a very good game and was only reviewed well due to it being a big open world early on this gen.

Absolute Power is DLC. If you mess with the campaign, you'll see Absolute Power then Classic Campaign iirc.

Ugh, my resolve is wearing thing. I really want to buy ARES, Terraria and Beat Hazard before the dailies. Someone talk me off the ledge.

The feeling of anxiousness you have now will be nothing NOTHING to the regret of purchasing something before a daily deal. Besides, you can snag Beat Hazard Ultra if it's on sale with the daily deal too!

BANK account? Please tell me you mean Steam wallet...

How can you even consider buying games if you have less than $30 in your bank account?

AC1 is poor, but AC2 is one of the best games Ubisoft has released in years. Way more refined and playable, more interesting locales, it's drop dead gorgeous... worth it even full-price, never mind on sale.

To be clear, the gameplay is similar, but that wasn't the problem with AC1, it was the mission variety and such. It fixes a huge amount of AC1's problems.
