I really hope Morrowind is up for a daily deal today because i'm slowly losing hope. Also we should make a list of the good games that are on sale for 10 bucks or less, i think it's probably better to do that in the last day.

Also my number one hoped game.

Is there a middle-ages skinned game of near defense grid quality?

Hmmmm. Hmmmm! Good question. I'm kind of a nutter for these games, though, and I haven't found anything that really comes close. The only good fantasy-type TD game I can think of is Defender Chronicles on iOS, but it truly pales in comparison to Defense Grid.

Somebody mentioned Trine possibly being on sale today, looks like it probably will be or at least have a ticket with it, it just updated and there's an achievement at the bottom of the list called "Summer Dip"

My current wishlist-
1. Portal 2
2. Red Orchestra 2
3. Risk Factions
4. Dead Island
5. Worms Reloaded
6. Trackmania United
7. Empire Total War
8. Crysis 2 (lol)
9. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
10. Homefront

It will probably look a bit different at the end of the sale depending on what goes on sale!

Stronghold, my good man. Still the original and best TD game around. The full collection is only $13, but may go on sale.

Stronghold is a TD game in only the loosest sense of the word, but it is a very good game. Just don't expect DG-style gameplay, at all.

The only way you could slip Stronghold into that genre is by saying that your objective is to defend a castle, and castles happen to have towers.

I'm new to PC gaming (and to GAF! Hello there!) and I've got to say I've become transfixed by these sales. This time of day has become my favourite, sat here waiting to see what's next up.

I'd absolutely love either of the Fallout games to be on sale today. Holding out for those.

The top 10 of my wishlist currently looks like this:
1. Max and the Magic Marker
2. Assassin's Creed II
3. Two Worlds II
4. Swords and Soldiers HD
5. Altitude
6. Half-Life 2: Lost Coast (for some reason Mac gamers can't take advantage of the Nvidia free giveaway deal, even though my Mac has Nvidia graphics and can play the rest of Half-Life 2 and all other Source games)
7. Dangerous High School Girls In Trouble!
8. Jolly Rover
9. Atlantis Sky Patrol
10. Bejeweled 3

Isn't AssCreed 2 like $6 the deluxe edition right now?

It's a really good game, more people should try it.

Back in Quake 3 I mapped what should have been 'W' (move forward) to the right mouse button, still play that one game that way to this day. M&K didnt exactly come to me that quick, but once you have it for fps, theres no going back.

what does people think about Beat Hazard? get it now or wait for a possible daily deal?

It's good. Like Asteroids kinda.

Sorry to ask this again, but can I get Dragon Age to play like the console version? I'm not a PC gamer and I heard that console versions were simpler.

Does AC Brotherhood perform better on PC? Does it have that stupid Ubisoft DRM? I have AC 1 & 2 on the Xbox 360 (didn't play 2 yet) and I think I'm doing the same for consistency.

Dragon Age on the consoles and on the PC is like comparing a rotten orange and a sweet one (or any fruit/vegetable of your fancy really). The PC versions are just simply better, even the shitty crap sequel that was oriented more towards the consoles.

It is a PC game, though not as typical as most PC only games, it's not very hard to learn and the control scheme is better on the PC.

I also have Morrowind at the top of my wishlist. It'll be the fourth time I've bought the game, so I'm looking for a bit of a bargain.

I got Assassin's Creed 2 last night. Tried playing it, but looks like I'll have to get around to picking up a controller to play it 'cause the keyboard and mouse controls are weird :/

You don't even want to know what happened to the last guy that said "What's DOOM?"
Oh man, heard they went rabid on him - and then the jackwagon threatened to pirate the game. Crazy am I right? :p

So after about 5 days, what else are people hoping to pick up this sale?

Will pick up:
Dead Space 2
X3 or any variant (Gold pack)
Vampire Bloodlines

Maybe:
GTA4 pack
moar impulse bought indiegames
Fallout NV

So far only paid 22 bucks this sale. Feels good man.

Ok time to wrap today's sales folks. Better get those hot deals while you still can. For anyone still on deciding fence: Torchlight, Defense Grid, DA:O Ultimate, and the AC games are all must buys at those prices.

edit: forgot Tropico.

Looks like Doom is one of the new daily deals!

Any idea how well Doom 3 holds up?

I tried playing that an old rig when it first came out, which ended up pretty badly. Wouldn't mind revisiting it at that price.

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...

I'm quoting myself here because I really think this game needs some more purchases!

Eschalon Book 1 & 2 are now on sale at the Steam summer sale;

Eschalon: Book I - $3.74
Eschalon: Book II - $4.99

Got book I gifted by a friend yesterday and I was immediately hooked! Although the graphics are nothing special, the sound and music are amazing! Game really has a great atmosphere and the dialog is surprisingly well written!
Now I haven't got Book II yet but supposedly it improves on a lot of things.

Definitely worth a pickup IMO.
I'm probably going to purchase book II before the end of the sale as well.
