Question once again. I just want Doom I and II, but no interest in III. Is there another place(Retail even), to get the first two without III?

2nd, I found this site through google which has been giving tips how to beat each level.

Trine and Bully for me today.

If I want to pick up one of the X games (X2, X3) which would people recommend, the X2/X3 pack is like $5, but not sure if that's the best X3 to try, and if X2 is worth it. Any recommendations?
As mentioned above, the general consensus is that X3: Terran Conflict is the only one you really need to get. Of course, the X series did have a daily deal during the winter sale, so there's a possibility that they may have another one during this sale.

Well bit the dust and got Alpha Protocol. AC:Brotherhood is damn much fun (albeit those full synch challenges are nasty. I hate that 8 minute timelimit >.<)

Anyone who likes FPS games should pick up Singularity. It's a nice little shooter/adventure. Kinda reminds of Call of Duty high skill shooting mixed with Bioshock's ratio of atmosphere:action.

I double dipped on it. It's very good. The FOV is bad, but there's a config tool out there to fix it.

Really, great great game. One of my top ten from last year. Criminally overlooked.

Thinking about buying Fallout NV. Will the graphics be impressive on the new PC rig I am building? I never played FO3 and I had trouble getting into Oblivion.

Play with the texture mod and invisible hud. Plays very much different than Oblivion and a lot of the time can look very nice. I also use Electro City but this mod adds elements to the game that some might not like. Also modifying the ini can make the game look nicer.

It's funny in that the first time through I got tired of the games technical issues and finished as fast as possible. The second time through after a few patches and changing some threading variables in the ini the game ran more stable (still crashes though), played a different build and path (open world) and fell in love with the game. I wrote a Steam recommendation:

During a quest line that initially seemed innocuous or too much to bother with but ultimately directs you towards an npc with a treasure trove of information on the massive world that you participate and you speak to and listen captively to this npc for what seems an eternity you realize what a tremendous achievement Fallout New Vegas is. Brilliant in it's construction and writing. Grand in it's scope. Rich in exploration. So big that 50 hours of playing time and your chosen build might not even yield the true game play or dialog gems of what has to be considered one of the best rpgs ever crafted. Yes it's just a desert for the most part but this desert has the richest of gaming gold waiting to be mined.

Here are 3 landscape screens with the upgraded textures running @16XAF and 4AA 1920X1080p. If you click on the rest of my library you may run into some minor spoilers so be forewarned.

Night landscape.

Day landscape.

Under water.

Edit: Not really sure if these screens have texture upgrades save the road in the Day landscape. Also they're jpegs so they look even better in game.

Thanks to those who shared their thoughts on M&B: With Fire and Sword earlier.

Oddly, I think I still want it :/

NV DLC's, Bully and Alpha Protocol bought. Glad I'm leaving tomorrow and will only have limited bandwidth. This is starting to get expensive.

Anyone who picked it up during this sale or prior, how well does Darksiders play with a mouse and keyboard?
Very good, you should have no major problems with that.

plays alright, but you're gonna feel like you are destroying your mouse by clicking so much

gamepad is the way to go, if you have the option

Okay, finished the Warband ticket. It looks to be kinda bugged, as some people are having a hard time getting it. I'll just outline what I did for those of you that are having problems or are wondering.
First, you must make sure that 'ENABLE CHEATS' is disabled/unchecked in the configure menu.
Next, follow these steps - I did the same things myself with this new save file (taken from a Steam Forum User's post):

1. Make a female character.

2. Once you're in Calradia, the land you're playing in, try and navigate to closest city (they are bigger settlements than castles and villages).

3. Click on the city, enter the Tavern. Locate a man that isn't called Book Merchant, Wandering poet, Ransom Broker or something with Mercenaries. In other words - someone with a real name. This person is a companion. Talk to him and hire him (this will cost you 200-300 denars*).

4. Press Tab to enter the City menu and enter the Marketplace->Weapon market. look for the cheapest sword that is in the 'great sword' category (two-handed). It will cost up to some hundreds denars*

5. Leave the city and enter the party menu, lower right corner. Talk to your Male character -> take a look at his gear/equipment -> put the great sword in one of his weapon slot.

*if you lack in money you will have to raid some looters before getting the companion or the sword, do so by riding around until you find a grey unit running around, good luck!

Also, if there is no companion or great sword in the town you choose, you will simply have to ride to another town.
Finally, and this appears to be equally important, CAMP or WAIT in the city you found it (as soon as you purchase the sword and equip it, don't leave) for a few days and the ticket/achievement should unlock.

Or you could get a save file and import it, dunno if it would be considered legitimate though.
Someone HAS uploaded a savefile on the steam forums and all you need to do is place it in the right directory and camp for a few days in-game

How do I access my companions in Mount and Blade once I add them? I'm trying to get the ticket achievement but don't know how to give items.

Nevermind, got it.

When you see what steam offers in the UI and the sales it makes me wonder why I put up with xbox live for so long.
Anyone else feel the same?

Use the "p" hotkey while on the map or click on party. Then select the companion you wish to give the sword to and click on talk, equipment.

Maaan I am on the fence for Alpha Protocol! the price is sure attractive, but I am not even sure if I would play it through ( I do not buy games that I wont play) the genre and the game play seem attractive too, but... I donno

go to/view your Party --> Scroll down your party/troop list on the right until you find whom you are looking for --> TALK --> "Let me take a look at your equipment" --> Equip items --> Tada!

Can't see the New Vegas DLC getting any cheaper than this. Almost unfortunate all the DLC for the game hasn't come out yet; would've loved to get them all for $3 a pop.

Just picked up Alpha Protocol for today. I was slightly tempted by Singularity, and even added it to my wishlist before todays sales popped, but I think I'm still going to hold off for now.

someone convince me how New Vegas is better than Fallout 3. This will largely determine whether I purchase it or not. Not that anyone cares whether I purchase it, but some people like convincing and are very good at it, so give it a go.

Well whatever, I think of it as an RTS game with tower defense elements and the way it plays out is quite a bit different than AOE or other RTS games since the main objective is defense and surviving increasing difficult waves of enemies, not unlike TD games.

I just wanted to chime in and say I think your comparison to TD games is completely fair. The Stronghold that I played had the player exclusively on defense for most maps, and bore little resemblance to a traditional RTS. It a great little game for people like me who like to turtle up. Think a tower defense game where you have to arm and feed the soldiers who man your defenses..

I'm tempted by New Vegas. But I didn't get very far into Fallout 3. I think I just lost interest.

I also know the kind of difference spending a few hours setting up mods can make, but I just don't know if I have the constitution to do it. Not after Oblivion =[

Yeah, hopefully they'll be in the holiday sale, but I was mainly just wishing more DLC was already out now for NV. I remember FO3 has like 4 DLC's already out at this point.
