I've heard bad things about it so personally wouldn't spend money on it.

If I get Stalker and Call of Pripyat, can I just download Call of Pripyat?

It's what ive been hoping for, its sad the list price is still 40$. 27$ right now and thats still way too much. I'd buy it at 66% or 75% off though.

I just got it gifted to me and played for a little bit over an hour, it seems really interesting and i had fun with it and only won like 1 of 5 or 6 games. I'll be playing again

It can be very fun but also very frustrating. It is hard to get into it because it is a bit complex and has high learning curve for such a game.

Every character is very unique and has 4 skills to level up, and every level on a skill can add or change some actions your character can do, so you need to learn a character before you are able to enjoy it. And then there is the tower defense-ish aspect which adds another layer of gameplay on top of it.

Yes, it's very good. It's like a mix between tower defense, DOTA, 3rd person team shooter.

The only bad thing about it is that the community is dying. Maybe the game looking too similar to TF2 is one of the reasons. Poeple think it's a TF2 clone and skip it when in reality it's nothing like it.

My power went off for a brief second and my computer restarted. Steam closed unexpectedly and got me the error where I had to delete everything but the steamapps folder and steam.exe. Now Steam Guard pops up and I received no e-mail. Also haven't received a mail from steam for my last 3 purchases. I guess this could be related with each other?

Anyway, I guess they really don't want me to play the games I buy lol

I take my HDD from home to work every day and steam guard pops up every time. Usually, I get the email instantly but in the last couple of days it's been a pain in the ass. Keep retying till you get it.

Yeah. Had this happen with a gift email plus some emails when trying to login with a new browser. Frustrating.

Finally have Borderlands downloaded in Steam (primarily because I was playing a lot of Champions Online :p). No windowed mode?

That sims bundle is already 79.99. There have been two expansions released since it was originally put on the store in January ($20 Outdoor Living and $40 Generations).

The way EA is acting lately, I'm not holding my breath for a steep discount on either of those expansions. 79 bucks is a hell of a deal though. I paid 89 when Sims 3 launched on Steam and as I said, there's already 60 more in content.

Oh... and where in the heck is the Fallout 3 franchise!

This Steam Forum talks about a lot of graphical options that you can edit but have to do so outside of the game, window mode included.

No idea where they came from, I saw them posted by a user on another forum.

I've been looking through and changing the appid in the url for other games but haven't found anything else yet.

Looks like that batch of urls starts with "cdn.steampowered.com/v/gfx/apps/901707/header_292x136.jpg"
and then just increments the bolded digits from there. So they probably grabbed most of it from previous sales and either fished a little manually, or just scripted a more ambitious trawl.

Okay, I probably wasn't making myself massively clear.

I understand *how* these were figured out: By taking an existing URL and changing the link slightly. That's fine.

I was interested to know where the bright spark who originally figured this out posted. Ie, the source of the links originally.

Was it the Steam forums? Was it the ingenuity of the OP? etc etc

I might grab L4D1 depending on the price (already have it on the 360).

I'll also be grabbing King's Bounty: Crossworlds. My girlfriend gifted me the vanilla version last month without knowing that the combo pack was only like $5 more (why can't packs be put on your wishlist?), so this should lessen that little hiccup. From what I hear, if you have Crossworlds, it actually includes a sort of director's cut version of Armored Princess, right?

Oh! Guess I misunderstood you. Pretty good actually. I haven't played the Sims a whole lot since the Sims 1 but I've put a couple dozen hours in to the Sims 3. I actually bought the bundle for my wife. She has yet to play it.

In some ways I miss the simplicity of Sims 1. Isometric view, none of the aging mess. In others, perk, genetics, etc. its a big step up. Sims 3 Ambitions makes the entire bundle worth it in my eyes just for the ability to register as self-employed. Being an author or artist is now a "valid" means of earning a living and your sim has appropriate wishes for you to attain.

Not quite on topic. My wife is currently hooked on Sims 3 for PS3. Go figure.

It's fantastic, but realize that it's a pretty involved game, so it's not going to be fun if you just want something to fire up for an hour and forget.

So I hear the AI War ticket might not be working. In theory is seems simple as its easy to start a new game starting with the required energy but when I did that I got no unlock message...then again I read that some people had to wait a bit to get it...

Wondering if anyone had any experaince?

I'd buy Far Cry2 again for $5.

Hopefully, Steam matches Direct2drive and puts Morrowind on sale soon. I'm also looking for NBA2K11 to be discounted ($5-$7). Make it happen.
