Oh! Guess I misunderstood you. Pretty good actually. I haven't played the Sims a whole lot since the Sims 1 but I've put a couple dozen hours in to the Sims 3. I actually bought the bundle for my wife. She has yet to play it.
In some ways I miss the simplicity of Sims 1. Isometric view, none of the aging mess. In others, perk, genetics, etc. its a big step up. Sims 3 Ambitions makes the entire bundle worth it in my eyes just for the ability to register as self-employed. Being an author or artist is now a "valid" means of earning a living and your sim has appropriate wishes for you to attain.
Not quite on topic. My wife is currently hooked on Sims 3 for PS3. Go figure.
