I do actually have dual boot XP and 7. My reasoning is my Steam account and folders are all on my main XP drive. I dont really fancy copying across gigs and gigs of stuff if I can get a patch to get it working on XP.

You could just install Steam to the 7 drive and just use it for JC2.

Careful planning? I can play through most games relatively fast, and some of these games I have already played through, just by less legal means, though if I genuinely enjoy a game that I have "borrowed" through the internet I will purchase it.

I´m thinking about buying Dreamfall again, already beaten it, but at the same time I hesitate because I´m so annoyed at Funcom. They leave the story with masses of cliffhangers, talk about doing Dreamfall: Chapters, get extra funding from the norwegian state to do it, then......nothing.

So if you're a dual booter why can't you just install steam on your windows 7 drive and hardlink the steamapps folder to the xp drive steamapps folder?

This should work, I think. you just make a symbolic link on the win7 drive. Make sure you don't mess it up somehow and have to redownload your files.

You don't have to download anything, just copy the files to the new hard drive.

Interesting. I'll look into that. Yeah the main reason I haven't messed about with copying and pasting folders in the first place is because I will be PISSED if I screw up my save game files.
