Wondering how Valve purchases their servers... do they just blatantly arrange a competition of "so you say your servers can hold a load, lets try it under 3 million rabid nerds hitting F5 at the same time".

buy from gog.com, you pay perhaps 50€ but you get 10 and 6 dollar gift certificates, and you support the devs directly.

If you can find a russian or american to gift it to you, it's 8€/23€.

So far my damages are at $1.24 with Toki Tori (and I spent two hours trying to get the summer achievement there, awesome game, by the way).

I contemplated the Back to the Future game but I'm really not into the point and click adventure stuff. I've enjoyed some of the Cing stuff on DS but.. eh..

Can you go to the one level you need first or do you have to get there by progression? I've had it for a month or so and have been slowly chipping away.

I assume if you've played it before you can simply just select the levels that have sunshine beams in them. Since I had just bought it, I actually played through the first world and picked them up as I went. There was one REALLY tough one, I think #6 or #7? It involved setting a bridge in the middle of a ladder, which I hadn't needed to do in the game yet, so it really took me some time to figure that one out.

Thanks, trying it now.

If you're talking about Toki Tori, you have to get all 10 sun spots, which means basically playing the entire first world (Normal, Hard, Bonus). Only way to speed the process is to cheat with walkthroughs (so you don't have to work through them yourself) and one ticket isn't worth that.

EDIT: Beaten. I guess it would be easy if you had the entire world 1 already unlocked.

I picked up Bit.trip Runner, Recettear and Dawn of War2: Retribution. Retribution seems to have had a lot of DLC added; is any of it worth it?

Also, I did a round of Last Stand with Lord General and flamer, but apparently none of my kills were added to the achievement. :(
Am I doing something wrong?

This really is the type of game you should figure out on your own, the puzzles are really great and it doesn't take long to get all of them.

I didn't know at the time, but thanks to the OP I now see that you can earn the summer achievements on any day of the sale, not just the day of.. so there's that.

I heard it doesnt take too long to work thru them all anyways... so why cheat for a ticket that I can earn over the next few days.

Clarification: I am agreeing with you.... man I'm tired.

Should I give in and by Freedom Force pack, or wait til it gets a better discount (i.e. daily deal)?

I've seen it as low as $2.50 in the past. Might wait if I were you!

Always wait for the daily deal, and buy on the last day, unless it's unbelievably good deal.

I just need to say that this Summer Camp achievements/rewards thing they are doing is fucking brilliant.

Valve really are as awesome as the internet makes them out to be. One of the ultra rare instances of internet hyperbole being deserved.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Medal of Honor were my Day 1 victims for a total grand sum of ~15€.

The last day I'll go on a spending spree that's out of this world.

My day 1 haul. Now I would really like a better discount on Drakensang: The River of Time. Got all the tickets as well, Golden Ticket here I come.

So are we still not sure if those ticket prizes will change with the new sales each day? I'm sitting on 3 but I only really have portal 2 and defense grid out of that list and I don't care for useless digital clothes or gear (the portal 2 prize).

edit: Nevermind I looked up the rules of the contest and it said prizes may be added or taken away during the sale at any time. So here's hoping for new ones.

Got 4 tickets (joining the group + 3 from games I already owned from the potato sack).
Don't want to get Lead and Gold or Swords and Soldiers as I have S&S on Wii and L&G on PS3 as part of PS+. It's still tempting though...

Only things I really want from the prize booth are the TF2 Glasses (please be a misc for everyone and not just demo) and Alien Breed 2: Assault Because it's a free game :D
Would also want the Portal 2 snorkels if Portal 2 Multi had any sort of re-playability.
Maybe want the Defence Grid maps.

Hmm whats the odds of Drakensang: The River of Time going below $9.99? I remember correctly the studio went out of business so can i go on a daily sale?

Is the first Drakensang worth playing? Considering I have a massive backlog I rather get the second if the first one only an "ok" game.

Last question is the DLC any good?

If I use my tickets now in the prize booth does it mean that my prize tickets for the Grand prize draw will decrease?

example have 3 tickets I use them to buy the glasses in tf2, that means I have no tickets left for the the grand prize draw?

You keep them AFAIK.

Has anyone been able to activate their CD key for TDU2?

This seems to be an issue based on Atari and Steam forum posts, but I'm just curious if anyone here has been successful.

I've submitted tickets to both Atari and Steam, as I have had no luck here.

Seems a lot of people picked up a BIT.TRIP game and Recettear, going by this thread. Gonna start the latter now, RUNNER is fun but it's also very hard, and thus very repetitive, hah.

This better be good GAF!

Played some Witcher 2 last night after it finally downloaded. Seems like a great game so far.

Am I a master race traitor for playing with a gamepad?

The grand prize givaway entries count your total tickets earned, even if you spend them (had 4, redeemed TF2 Glasses, now have 1 but still 4 entries in the jar)

Not if it plays better. I'm sure Master Race loves a good gamepad when it fits, they're all about the superior control method. :p

Could some kind soul please gift me with some DOWII: Retribution goodness?

I'm keen to avoid the usual Aussie Butt****ing that the pubs tend to give us...

Please PM me, I can pay via Paypal or Pokemon cards.

I enjoyed playing The Witcher 2 more on my ds3 than with a keyboard and mouse. Some games are just better with a gamepad personally and I think tw2 is one of those games.

Just finished Civ V (11.19 on Gamersgate) and got my max 1.5MB/sec the whole time:) I guess people on the east coast US have already done their damage and are waiting for the start of the next day.
I put it to go at 1am GMT, so the Yanks must've been blitzing the servers.

I second this opinion. Witcher2 + Pad >> Witcher2 + Mouse >>>>>>>>> no Witcher 2

I am really trying to learn from years past and exercise discipline. I downloaded the Recettear demo and it was cool, but I'm going to save that $5 for something else. I wanted BttF to go on sale and it did so I nabbed that. I also was inspired by the Retribution sale to buy DoWII gold off amazon for $16 (I can't see those two being much cheaper on Steam and since they activate on steam it's all good). I also am passing on Witcher 2 for now because I didn't really get into the first one and I expect it will be super cheap during the Christmas sale.

I kind of want Medal of Honor, but I refuse to buy another PC FPS where I can't adjust the single player FOV. I'm not wasting money on a game that might make me miserable.

SO FAR $12 in for BttF and loving it.
