What kind of DLC does Civ V have that is not part of gods and kings? I also only have the base version and am unsure what I am missing. Is it mostly cosmetic?

G&K is an expansion, doesn't include any of the other DLC. Get the GOTY upgrade then add Korea/Wonders.

Bollocks. Bought The Witcher from GamersGate and didn't bother to check whether it was Steam or not. It's not.

I assume you can still get the CD key off of GamersGate. Go here to register it on GOG and get a free copy there. This works for any keys. I went back and used one I had bought with a physical copy of Witcher 1 years ago and it worked.

Don't know if anyone cares but Forgotten Sands is a really good PoP game. Not emo/angry like warrior within and not brain dead for casuals only easy like PoP 08 was. It's basically another Sands of Time but a lot less impressive since at that point the formula was like 8 years old.

IIRC, Civ V Complete appeared in the registry at one point, and in the meantime Tony may put together something. There's no timeframe on either, though.
