A Shift Up presentation from May 16 went through the company's recent financials, awards, and plans for the future.

If we skip ahead to page 19, we can see an interesting chart showing scheduling plans for Goddess of Victory: Nikke (another Shift Up title), a potential future title labeled "Project Witches" for now, and Stellar Blade.

A closer look at Stellar Blade's section shows that "platform expansion" is planned, and a "sequel." This is all planned for before 2027, meaning we can expect to see Stellar Blade 2 anytime between now and the end of 2026.

With Eve's game as a successful asset, their troubles are now in the rear, and their worries are far behind. A sequel is just icing on the cake.

Please, more scenario variety and more character interaction... i fell robbed that we did have almost no interaction between Eve's naivete and Adam's grumpiness

I don't know why, but I thought Project Witches was a different game and not a sequel to Stellar Blade. Don't get me wrong, it would be cool if we're getting a Stellar Blade 2.

How did the first one 'end'? Lots of questions unanswered?
Without spoilers: Not many questions unanswered, the final part of the game answers almost everything we need to know. Also, there are basically two endings.

In the first one: Eve returns to her usual life after the mission.

In the second one: Eve changes and she has a "new mission".

Anyway... Day one.

It is a different game. Project Witches will be a multiplatform game including mobile. And thers also a sequel for Stellar Blade planned. My Guess is Project Witches will be they next gacha game, and should be a 3D game to compete with the other big budget gachas.

Troubles? I was under the impression Nikke was already printing money and Stellar Blade was just the studio wanting to do something new.

Thanks for the explanation and clarification. Project Witches sounds quite interesting if it's indeed a big budget 3D gacha, so I'm really curious to see how it turns out.

How's the first one actually? I looked good but the conversarion around the game never actually went into if it was good or not.

Was the gameplay fun? Was it closer to Souls or to DMC or Nier?

Was the story good?

Was it too short or too long? Was the level design open or more linear?

They actually developed both game simultaneously, was pretty daring on their part.
Nikke launched at the end of 2022 and started to bring money when SB was almost at release

This is the canon ending for me, and there's a lot to expand from there.

I just wish they'd get better writers and VAs next time around. As far as gameplay and presentation goes, the game was awesome (well, some of the platforming sections I could do without).

Stellar Blade surprised me in such a positive way just like Nier Automata. I was never a fan but glad I gave it a try

It's a very, very good game man - it's not the most original or one that will leave a long lasting impression but, what it does it does really well.
Its more Nier Automata x DMC with a few sprinkles of Souls (bonfire-like system, over reliance on enemy lock with the right stick - at least in the beginning where you're underpowered).

Very pretty to look at (GFX), good animations, good progression, awesome and flashy combat, beautiful levels with good design and shortcuts (compared to the Khazan/Nioh shite), nice music - there's not much to hate about it, in fact , there's almost none.
Proper/good length also since it doesn't outstay its welcome ('bout 45-50 hours).
Story was OK, nothing to write home about.

The furore about the T&A was as predictable as the sun setting every day, it was the usual fake internet outrage since I wouldn't describe the game as lewd , besides, I only used the Bayonetta -like suit for my playthrough since it seemed the most fitting in contrast to the swimming suit/weeb fan service shite.

All in all, a very sold 8 -8.5/10 game.

I'm very excited. SB1 is my 2024 game of the year and one of the best looking Ps5 game. I hope too see two playable characters: Eve and
Raven.
battle against
mother.
I'm going to scream like a girl if it happens. :messenger_beaming:
By the way it is possible its funded again by Sony and time exclusive. Sony helped them allot in game development. Well Ps5 and PC at the same time is not a problem or at least time exclusive to PS. I doubt if its 2027. It might be a Ps6 launch game around late 2028 or early 2029.

Its a mix of Sekiro parry and DMC combos. And yes its very good, its tight. World is pretty interesting, good amount of variety. Level design is good as well mixing shorter linear maps with quasi open worlds with Soulslike shortcuts, some nice setpieces. Great bosses. Its fairly long too, much longer than something like DMC but shorter than say Nier Automata.
Story is just ok, but Eve is a 10/10 female protag.

There were no troubles, they were already making a lot of money before Stellar Blade with Nikke.

With Stellar Blade they made even more money, both Shift Up and Sony are happy with the game and their relationship, so will make Stellar Blade's sequel next after the PC port.

Yes, 'Project Witches' is mentioned by Shift Up to be as the same type of Nikke, what they call 'subculture' or an 'anime subculture' game. Meaning, a mobile first anime waifu F2P gatcha.

In this report they also mention it to be crossplatform (without specifying if meaning iOS+Android, mobile+PC, mobile+PC+PS or mobile+PC+different consoles) and 'next-gen' (without specificying if they mean PS6 or mobile next gen).
