Stellar Blade 2 reportedly in the works

Stellar Blade is one of the best action games of the gen. Its clear you have a hate bone for the game for feauturing an attractive female character, but the game is legit great from begining to end. Its a pitty you dont know what you talking about. I find it especially funny, you criticizing ppl for praizing the game for having an attractive character and then you come here criticizing level design and story without finishing the game.

Game is a complete package, gameplay, characters, Original Sound Track, and even if most of the story only starts moving close to the end, its a pretty nice story as well. There was more than 70 outfits to unlock when i played the game, without the game nagging you to buy them.

But hey the game has a sexy character, and must be shit cuz ShiftUp made mobile games even if the team working on Stellar Blade has nothing to do with the Nikke team. Game also got 2 nominations for the Game Awards (Best Action game and Best Sound Track), clear something shitty games that only sell ass and titties can do.
You don't get it. The character, and its 10/10 outfits is all this game has. THIS IS THE ISSUE. If this game was just one room with an additional 100 half naked outfits, and dances for the chick, the game would've sold x3. There is a reason why 100% of the time when Stellar Blade is mentioned, its always because of outfits, tits, ass or boobs physics. When a game is good, like many pretend it being, you talk about its gameplay, bosses, level design, story, etc. None of this is happening since the launch of this game.

That is why in my original post i said that this game is solely sold on the sexy chick (which btw, came out in the perfect time when a bunch of woke journos were malding, and this game was this "look! none woke games sells better, suckers!"), and not the quality of the product. Remove her for the sequel, and nobody will give crap about the floaty combat system, yet another shallow story and level design that is as mediocre as they come.

Im glad you had the chance to experience the story and all the level design outside the tutorial zone in all your 7h in the game you forced yourself to play cuz must have been a painfull experience looking to an atractive character.

And no, the character and the 10/10 outfits are not the issue, its only an issue to you. Thers alot more in the game but thats all you can see cuz it triggers you that alot of ppl talk about it. Get over it, or better go actually finish the game then come back to the conversation if you really want me to validate anything you have to say about the game.

If your game takes over 7h to get good, maybe you should get out of the gaming industry, cuz that's how ubisoft and bioware does it, and we all know the quality of their titles.

Did you even read what i said? Nobody mentioned her and her outfits being the issue. The issue being is that THERE IS NOTHING ELSE that's good outside of the character and the outfits. Read.

Some of you are talking about shitposting, but you reply by nothing else but that, shitposting, while also not even understanding the subject. This is what happens when your glazing of the game gets crushed, and its negatives begin pooring, you begin seeing red, and type whateverthefuck to defend your precious little game. Childish, but whatever.

I don't think anyone really gives a shit if you don't like it 🤷‍♂️

You the one that needs to read. In all my posts i mention the game is the full package with much more than just a sexy characters and you keep insisting that thers nothing more. I mention the OST, the gameplay, and yes even the story and level design are good. The story just starts very vague and only kicks in near the end but its a good story. And no, the game dosent need more than 7h to start being good cuz i was having fun with the game combat since the demo as i put more than 5h in the demo alone, look, almost the same time you forced yourself in the full game. Now if you want me to validate any of your opinions beside shitposting cuz you cant deal with a sexy character, then go finish the game and come back, its a 20h+ game for the story alone and 60h game with all the side stuff.

And you have the right to not like the game, and thats ok. I also dont like many popular games, but i also dont go on threads about a game sequel to shitpost nonsense. Go finish the game if you want me to discuss the story and level design further with you, cuz with 7h, you dont know what you talking about.

I suggest actually reading the topic for it's release. Plenty of people (myself included) praised aspects such as music and combat. Which were great.

It got a 8.1 score from journos anyway. That's hardly a "no one would care without hot chick" score. It's also got a 9.2 from users. And there are plenty of games on Steam with hot girls that have mediocre-bad reviews. It was a genuinely great game, 8/10. Only held back by a forgettable story.

Up the goonery, refine the UI, add a few new gameplay mechanics and you got the potential for a real good game series.

It's kind of pathetic to trash an ACTION game for a mediocre story.

What kind of story has any Souls game? I'm talking about a story with a dramatic arc, not a lore conpendium.

Let's talk about Bayonetta story.. LOL.

How about the very best hack and slash in history, Devil May Cry? (1 or 3, doesnt matter). DMC is a masterpiece of a game and its story fits in one line.

They are all great games, in which story was just an excuse to kill gross monsters, demons or androids. There is only ONE case of a great story in this genre and that is Nier and people bring it up as if it were the norm, not the exception.

Stellar Blade excels in music, level design, boss variety and overall combat. It's prodution values are also top notch.

Using menial stuff like costumes and controversies to talk down the game is childish.

And talking about "gooner material" in this game you won't find any perverted sex scenes like in some other high-valued games which names I don't remember now. Maybe some people would like it better if Eve got raped in the ass or fucked with animals, since that seems more of their liking.

Exactly, tell these fools. Stellar Blade has a simple story with great gameplay and soundtrack plus a lot of unlockables which normally would cost you a fortune in a game like dead or alive for example.

I double dipped and will continue to support these devs, can't wait for the sequel and ravens comeback.

Am I reading that report right, or are they saying they plan to have the game out in 2027? I think even if they immediately began development in 2024, that'd be pushing it.
They will probably reuse quite a bit of assets there.

And Nier is not even that good as an action game

Lol, and who do you suggest they ditch them for, PC? Oh, Im sure they cant wait for their game to be pirated by millions of players just to sell a fraction of what it sold on PS5.

Who else, Microsoft? You mean the company whose female characters all look like middle aged underground street boxers?

Nintendo? Yes, lets encourage them to make it exclusive to an underpowered mobile tech gaming device. Its not like they dont already have Bayonetta, which they stole from Sega.

Seriously, what is it with "you" people, and your hate boner for Sony? Did they piss in your cherriors or something? The game wouldnt even have released without Shuhei Yoshida and Playstation.

What The Fuck Wtf GIF by Olivia Rodrigo
As soon as Sony sees a story again on IGN or the other ragebait sites about how this game is literally killing millions of women, they will pressure them to censor, or they will self-censor in the first place.

I don't have any concerns about Sony, but they pressure studios to censor, or stuff is not getting released in the West, like DoA Extreme. Yes, they should ditch Sony, as well as Microsoft or any other of those publishers, and release their game under their brand. Nikke works without them, so would this game.

They don't need those gatekeepers, and if Sony screams that they will not release it on PS5, just make a Gatcha out of it. People would respect that more than having to censor the game again because somebody on ResetEra throws another hissy fit.

No way Stellar Blade 2 comes out before the end of 2026. That's just too fast LOL!

Says who? In prior gens, we used to get entire trilogies. Uncharted 1 - 3. Mass Effect 1 - 3. Gears of War 1 - 3. If the team behind Stellar Blade can make it happen, I say let them do it like good developers used to do. Before all this crap like UE5 and Ray tracing and unnecessary fluff caused development to slow to a snails pace.

Just having hot characters will never sell a game very much on its own...hot characters just help a good game sell more.

The game got favorable response from reviewers and consumers in regards to gameplay, especially the combat. It may not have Nier Automata chops for storytelling, but after trying the demo I came away from not expecting much to wanting the game when it inevitably hits PC.

The game has more than surface level sex appeal, but the internet will regularly share surface level parts of games, especially if it's meme worthy. Other games having uglier androgynous characters around its release only amplify that aspect.

Why should they care - it's a game predominantly for Asian market, so whatever fit in (and it's mostly chinese standards for some extent) get out
Why would Sony as corporation think what "public opinion" in 5% of sales target space think about game?

SB2 is probably Project Witch so 2027 unless it's a new game entirely mobile or otherwise.
People for sure don't like to read threads.

Having great characters and gameplay sounds like a solid foundation to build from, the sequel will only improve from here.
Couldn't disagree more. Every single character in the game is poorly written, hollow and forgettable. All of them without exceptions. As for gameplay, the combat system is alright. Everything else, be it the exploration, story related stuff, etc, its a dumpster. So yes, in general, characters and gameplay is a great foundation, but they don't exist in Stellar Blade, so there's no foundation here, its just booba. This game kinda reminds me of a porno. You don't watch it for the story or characters, you watch for the other reason, and that's what SB is. And this will be extra true on PC😆

For music, yes, that's true. I personally thought that it sounded like i was playing god damn dead or alive extreme beach volleyball back in the 2000s, so lets just say that i didn't like it one bit, but i did hear many praise it. As for bosses, the only praise i've heard are the end game bosses, and only a couple.

I don't know about all that. The weekly release of a shitty gacha from China offers zero gameplay, and people are spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars gambling on waifus. Not to mention that Stellar Blade came out in the middle of the clusterfuck war against the woke stuff, and because the dev went against the grain, and had the audacity of having a hyper sexualized character where fat bitches was the norm, the game got an insane amount of indirect marketing from all the vids being made about it, and that has absolutely helped its sales by a ton.

And i don't know how it is/was here on gaf, but elsewhere, everywhere i ever looked, within a week of release, nobody was even talking about SB, and if something does pop up about the game, its only because of how sexy the character looks, or the physics added to her tits. This does not happen with great games, like ever. For example, Nier Automata was/is very popular because of the same reason, but plenty of people still talk about the great story the game had, especially on its true ending. SB doesn't have any meat on the bone.

Stellar Blade is objectively a solid game. Gameplay is great, Eve is a great character and Lily kinda grows on you, the linear levels are fantastic, music is great, but the big explorable areas are kinda same'ish looking (what I dislike the most). If they were more diverse looking than this would have been easily a 9 out of 10 from me. If they can build on what they made, the sequel is gonna be amazing.

Everyone who likes Stellar Blade is in agreement that the writing was bad. Kim Hyung Tai the director of the game addressed this as one of the game's shortcomings, and said they will address it in the future.

Now if everyone agrees the writing in the game was terrible, but still love the game, then that speaks to how good the combat and music was. If you think the combat was meh, fine that's you opinion. But there are a lot of people who found it very fun, and many action game enthusiasts such as FightingCowboy that the game was banger.

It's not exactly a hot take that a great story sticks with you over something with great gameplay. Stellar Blade is a 15-20 hour game. Of course most people played it, beat it, and moved on to the next thing. That doesn't by any stretch mean the game was bad or mid. And for the record, as a fan of the game, there were plenty of conversations about it all over, weeks after it released. You just weren't there.

The game has sold 2 million so far, which for a brand new IP for a character action game, by an unproven studio, that's very good. For comparison it blew past Bayonetta 3's sales which was on a more popular system.

The combat system was the strong point of the game, but when compared to the better combat systems such as the one in NG, DMC and so on, they were far far behind in every way possible.

And i wish everyone who liked the game agreed on the fact that the story was pure slop. Every single time i criticize this game, people jump on my comments and damage control the dogwater story. It's like they don't want to admit the issues with the game because the game has nice booba, which is weird af to me. Also, if we're agreeing that the story is bad, it means that we're also agreeing that all characters in the game are shit, and that the dialogue is a dumpster, which is pretty much what i've been saying, and being quoted by people in denial.

As for Bayo3, it was made for a system that can't even handle the damn game. Did you see the visuals and fps for that thing? It looked like an N64 game. Not to mention that Switch's demographic ain't into these kind of games, and it would've done much much better on PS and PC.

Is it as good as the pinnacle of action games in the genre? No. Is it still good? Yes, and that's good enough for many people. This shouldn't be hard to understand. I'm not going to pass up on trying out Rise of the Ronin and potentially having a good time with it, because Sekiro exists.

We're still talking about decade plus year old character action series. Even if you go back to Bayonetta 1, Stellar Blade's first year sales outpaced Bayonetta 1's during it's launch. I'm just saying compared to other character action games, Stellar Blade has had a great start. I'm not looking to get bogged down by this.

And those has atrocious stories.
And Nier has very poor combat.
You can't have it all, so SB is something inbetween.

And i wish everyone who liked the game agreed on the fact that the story was pure slop.
Nope.
It's ok and better than many other games. Not spectacular, but also not bad. It's structured properly, has twists and original enough. It might not be best written or pacing of unfolding story has some issues. But overall it's not a bad story, it's quite interesting to see.

NG had a shit story, sure, but it also wasn't focused much on dialogue, while SB is full of it, so they obviously tried, and face planted. Story of DMC ain't shit at all, it's actually pretty fun, especially in DMC5. Turns out that when you have interesting and well written characters, even if the plot of the story is nothing special, it's still interesting because of the chemistry of what's happening with those characters.

And this is exactly what i am saying, y'all defend this slop story, which is insane to me. Its like those Monster Hunter fanboys that pretend MH Wilds story is good. I mean COME ON. Its so bad that nobody remembers the name of any characters, so you gotta google them lol.

This is exactly the difference between good story and good written story.
Good story is one that follows literature pattern (introduction, development, climax, resolution), has interesting setting, plot twists and uncertainty where it will go/unexpected things - a story where a story itself (a sequence of events) keep people engaged. And SB has quite a good story, a mix of Nier and Nier:Automata with some unexpected twists.
A good written story is all that side stuff - good written characters, short-term actions, deep interactions etc. TikTok stuff for those who can't follow for longer than 20 mins.

Ok fine you anti woke people get Stellar blade 2 but what about the virtue signalers? Those people are still, getting concord 2 right?

Replace her with a sausage, and i can bet you $1 nobody will even pay attention to the game. The truth about Stellar Blade is, it's an extremely mediocre game with a decent combat system, massive tits and massive ass. Remove the last two, and this IP won't sell over 300k copies.
In all fairness, it also features some gorgeous graphics/details. And the soundtrack is pretty dope too.

What is this cope? Sure its not perfect, but its ggood action game with some cool locales, bosses, plenty customization, no microtransaction shit, polished and had interesting story. What a loser ass take.

Good design help increase sales. News at 11. So? Replace ANY popular main protagonist with a plain boring one and the game will sell worse. This isn't news.

And it's not just about sex. It's about making a character in any way interesting and visually appealing and unique.
You think Black Myth Wukong would sell with the big belly Concord lady/guy/thing as the main protagonist? Or the one with a bucket on the head? It would've bombed.

It's about time that good character artists get some recognition for what they're doing for PR on games. Goes for female characters as well as male characters. Devil May Cry Dante, Lara Croft, Eve, Samus Aran, Assassin's Creed Altair, Cloud, Tifa, Bloodborne Hunter, even Gears bulky Marcus Fenix - they're all unique and set the tone for the games and the PR perfectly just by taking a quick glance at them.

But yes, sex sells. So just enjoy, we're about to get more of it! 👌

With this still ongoing woke stuff in other games, I hope the second game is doing even better, so that other developers understand what players want.

Plenty of gatcha games fall off the wayside without anyone caring. The ones that retain a player-base when there are plenty of other options with waifus are gonna be the ones that have better gameplay and story. I don't even really care about Zenless Zone Zero, and playing that on a friend's PS5 it has better melee combat than Dragon Age Veilguard, along with narrative that wasn't filled with millenial writing.

The normies who are the bulk of sales you want to reach also don't give a shit about the culture war, or pay enough attention to see this game's role in it. They bought the game because it played well, they released a demo for free, it was a Unreal game that ran great instead of broken ass like the bulk of other AAA games using the engine...and yeah it had the attractive protagonist.

It won't be remembered like Nier Automata because Nier had meat in the story department along with gameplay, while Stellar Blade is only a good combat game. So many people want to slot games into binary of incredible or shit, when Stellar Blade really is just a solid 7.5-8 out of 10 game, and that's fine when other AAA output around you has gotten worse. If the gameplay sucked, people would've just ignored it to play the other gatcha games that same company makes free-to-play with no barrier to entry.

I hope you're right. Even 2027 would be great.
