Looks so fucking awesome, can't wait. It's a shame they don't have it for launch, but at least it's coming and not as paid DLC.

So all the guys saying that this was the right decision, pro tour takes the top priority, etc I'm going to see you playing this game for a long time right?

I'll open the SFV thread in 2017 and see.

HAHAHA, can't you just do the same with SF IV right now? finding a match isn't that hard. The online is pretty active.

I said I wouldn't buy it without a proper story mode. Well, that looks like a proper story mode to me.

The delay is weird, but so what if I have to wait 4 months? It'll be cheaper then. I'm back in.

You're a funny dude. This shows you have no idea what you're talking about. Street Fighter IV came out on consoles in 2009. People still talk about it, be it the FG thread, or the USF4 thread last year.

And yeah, I'll bookmark this because I'm sure it's going to make for an interesting day in 2017. Pick the day of the year you want to be reminded to enter the thread, any day is fine.

Hm... I'll get this when the story mode is on the disc.

But it is, Character Story Mode will be there at launch. This is an expansion of it, but yeah, if you care about the story and not learning how to play the game and characters, then waiting is the best option.

Well this post completely misses the point, but uh, yeah, look forward to my Rashid :3c

I will admit I hate how they made Blanka into a child like character in SFIV. So I take that.

According to Steam stats, the playerbases of dota 2 and cs go see spikes during/after major tournaments which works out to continuous growth over time. This decision by Capcom isn't without merit.

Seeing as how I'm still fucking playing USFIV almost daily then yes. I look forward to seeing you in 2017.

Get the core game out to the masses and provide this free to everyone in the future. The core game being intact is good.

Everyone keeps saying Kolin, but that doesn't really look like her. She looks nothing like this in the comic. Regardless I'm pretty confident Kolin will be playable eventually.
I think it's her except now she doesn't look like a kof character, but I'm not seeing the leap into being a playable one?

GL, you should go to a side event

Ideally they should've released this next year with all the DLC characters and the story mode complete. They chose to release the game early and release the rest of the content piece wise.

Major reasons for releasing the game early:

*To meet the fiscal year report. Gotta look good for the investors.

*Capcom Pro Tour. A lot of the major events take place BEFORE EVO. This way there will be lots of opportunities to acquire points in SFV for Capcom Cup. There are going to be a lot of events between February and 4 months after that.

*Give some time for players and TOs to prepare before EVO. I am kinda on the fence on this because IMO there isn't a huge gap between 1 month level of play and 4 months level of play. It didn't matter for Marvel 3 for example, people were still using 1 month old stuff. However, sometimes you don't know how a game will be a month before EVO and there might be some game breaking stuff that needs to be looked at (for banning purposes) that may take more than a month to figure out.

I am not sure if this was the right decision but no way are they going to delay it by 4 months. It's either release it in Feb or release it next Feb. Capcom is looking anemic right now in terms of game releases, they need something for this fiscal year so that the investors don't start bailing out.

Not sure if that is the Waterfall stage in the background of the last shot (w/ Nash). Could also be the ruins/forest stage (I think for Akuma or Urien?) from SF33S.

Also hell yes I don't have to care about playing story mode on launch. I'm probably going to be in unranked lobbies for about a week straight with FGC peeps.

Really wasn't expecting cutscenes. Great that they are getting this out and patching it in for free later. Works for me! Looks amazing.

I don't think it's a leap, I said "eventually" it may be 2 years down the line but I'm sure such a major character will be included. I figure any character that'll have prominent roles in the story will make it in.

Also she looks like her SF3 self in the comic, and so far the comic has been pretty accurate to the characters in SFV.

I think that there's going to be another story arc with the round 2 of characters.

I still think this is going to take us past the SF3 timeline.

To be fair, they would have continually added DLC characters either way.

Apparently the store will open in March. Which means no launch DLC character as some have speculated. It'll give people a month to build up zenny to purchase characters or costumes.

"Seeing as how I'm still fucking playing USFIV almost daily then yes. I look forward to seeing you in 2017."

It's kind of humorous because in 2017 interest will probably be rekindled with new characters and a balance update, so posters will return to the thread at that time. Also, conflating activity in GAF OTs with whether someone is still playing the game or not is doubly humorous.

"Did everybody miss they announced a final beta this weekend for the game?"

I hope they finally have FANG playable.

It's a fair point to make. The USFIV OT is dead but that game is still alive and well.

I love this game but I hate incomplete discs and is why I wish they never got rid of doing multiple updated versions. If I had MKX I would of bought MKXL just to own everything on disc.

But you would be waiting 5 years for a Complete Edition.

We already know this game has 6 DLC characters, and almost certainly more, so you wouldn't be getting your "complete" disc until the last version of this game. That probably wouldn't be until near SF6 release.
