Finally about time

I PMed Robopants to add at least the Hori Pad line in the OP, I don't know enough of the current Sticks.

No touch pad but it does let you assign L3 and R3 to the left shoulder buttons. If the game lets you assign buttons freely that might be helpful if you need more inputs.

If your concern is controlling a mouse cursor then you're out of luck unfortunately.

Nah, just thinking of some games that use a click on the left or right side of the touchpad. I have a stick already, so I was mostly interested in the pad as something easier to carry around and maybe for 2d platformers on the side. It looks super comfortable, it's not a dealbreaker, just disappointing.

are ken and ryu still carbon copies of each other, or have they been better differentiated by now?

this is the most different Ken has ever been from Ryu in any Street Fighter game

Totally different characters. Ryu hits like a truck whereas Ken is garbage forever.

For real though, think of it as power vs speed while retaining a similarly solid/well rounded foundation.

Fuck Ken, tho.

I was actually going to ask this, if it was smaller (it looks smaller). TE's size was one of my few complaints, always felt unconfortable on my lap. You guys are leaving me hopeful for that Venom now. Do you know if the buttons go "CLACK CLACK" like the TE ones do (and like every fucking steam on every stream do)? Im kinda used to that sound now lol

As long as you replace the stock buttons, then you can clickety clack all your troubles away.

I was actually thinking about putting the silent OSBF30's in my Venom... but then I realized how much I love the noise.

Whats the point of that extra edge by the d-pad anyway?

I'm not a foremost expert on this stuff so I can only assume it's to help out comfort with its variable d-pad. Other than that, like D-Pad itself, it's a preference sort of thing for steady had. I've never hand a problem with that and still don't, but I appreciate it whenever I decide to use the controller.

So i guess we dont know what time the steam version unlocks?

Yes, we do.

Funny how I can't make up my mind now, as if I will hold the controller with a claw or not. I can't remember how I do it when playing Tekken, maybe I should boot it up hah. The new Fighting Commander just doesn't look very comfortable to hold, the handles are so short.

Awesome OP. in just one post I finally understand what the V-system is about !

my day-1 main

Hell yeah, brah! I'm stoked that more and more people have been getting on board with the Birdie hype since the initial reveal. I kind of wish he stayed a charge character, but his inclusion was such an unexpected surprise and I adore the redesign so it's all good.

When I used a pad the Hori FC3 was amazing. If the FC4 is basically the same pad then I fully recommend it. Though I never was a fan of the rotating D-pad? Because it became loose so sometimes the D-pad moved a bit, but if that's improved on the FC4 then that's cool.

Was gonna hold off on a purchase until I found out more about the PS3 compatibility, but I think I've heard enough.

I'm still using my Original 360 TE Fight Stick that I got for $100.

TE2's are too expensive.

I probably need to buy some replacement parts, though.

I can only speak for myself, but I find the FC4 to be comfortable no matter how you choose to use it. Being asymmetrical is weird at first but it took maybe ten minutes before I didn't even notice when holding it traditionally.

One thing I did pick up on in that Fighting Commander video review that keeps getting posted is that it seems like hitting square and X together is more difficult than with the FC4. What I mean is that it seems like his thumb also wants to overlap with the circle button to a degree. I don't own the controller so I don't know if it's a legitimate issue or not, but when holding the FC4 my thumb aligns with the square/X, triangle/circle, and r1/r2 inputs perfectly.

FAO Anyone in South London

There's a game shop in Streatham, game spot I think it's called that is selling it early.

I got mine from there yesterday.

Do we know if there are more resets planned? I've got like 5 more hours before I'll be home and I'd like to jump in without worrying about being reset again.

I'm guessing if you don't have an internet connection worth playing videogames on that this game wouldn't be worth it right now?

It's probably super-bad form to try playing online if you live so far from other people and know your connection is inconsistent. Would that be the consensus? I suppose I'll wait for story mode, a sale, a better connection and just see what the reaction is. I've never been a Street Fighter fan but this one appeals to me and the enthusiasm of the fans is infectious.

(I'm way out in the Caribbean on a 1Mb/s connection that spikes and drops all the time.)
