My experience with SF4 was that after a point in time I basically lost all my online matches rather than winning some and losing some. I wonder how long before it reaches that point in SF5 - before all the people who suck enough for me to win are all gone. Unfortunately I don't have the time to practice anymore like I did in college when SF4 came out, so i'll be even WORSE at SF5 than I was at SF4.
Maybe i'll just pass entirely ;_; I do wanna play though, but is it worth dropping the dough? I never even have time to play smash 4 online because I don't have time to practice for that. At least smash 4 was LOADED with single player content which I could enjoy in my own free time - not as much in this case - the reason I wanted to wait until summer.
I guess i'll stick to my original plan and see how that pans out - at the very least i'll have a good single player experience.

If I get the Fighting Commander 4 controller, will I need to have a Dual Shock 4 connected?

I let the hype in my veins and just pre-ordered the deluxe edition from ps store. My download list has two themes and the game. How do I get the Chun-Li costume? I haven't really followed the news about SFV until lately so sorry if this is a stupid question.
This is my first SF game ever. I watched the videos from OP and this seems to be a great entry to the series. I feel like the basic mechanics are very accessible. Hopefully there's at least some kind of basic tutorial or training option to help me get started though. Steady flow of upcoming content is also great.

My thoughts, too. Everyone will be in the Rookie League until the pros or really good players have the time to move up some leagues and can never meet the rookies again.
Hopefully the leagues will work well to keep people playing with others around their same skill level.
How many leagues we have, again? Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold... and?
I think the leaked ones were just Bronzs, Silver and Gold. Maybe I missed Rookie.

Dude, for real, nice OT. Lots of info and it's real nice to look at. About the only thing I can thing is missing is a move list (but really, that exists in game too, so who cares!)
I've been a horrible masher since SF2, SF4 was the first time the whole meta-game made sense to me, so I think SF5 is going to be the first time I actually sit down to learn how to play this damn series. While online in SF4 I made a friend for about 1 week who played DeeJay, had a mic, and was absolutely 100% awesome at commenting on matches we either played against each other or in a lobby together. "Why didn't you punish this?", "Why didn't you super / Ultra?", "You should use your anti-air more", etc... I really need more of that to help me bash good habits into my brain. Too bad the guy hasn't logged into PSN in over 4 years

I've got a Steam Controller, 360 pad, and a XBone pad.
What should I use until Dinput gets patched in and I can use my FC4?
360 Dpad is terrible so I was leaning towards the Xbone but am curious if anyone has experience with the Steam Controller from the Beta.

Got this bad boy yesterday after being disappointed with both fighting commander pro and commander pro 3.
Maybe because it's still brand new, but I gotta say, this pad is has improved my execution. Rarely do I drop my combos compared to my other 4 other ps4 controllers.

I think that this system will mean a lot less wins for players who just jump in with roundhouse and do a dp in your face.
With sf4 it felt like I would lose to that bullshit more than I should have at the beginning. Crush counter combos alone will ruin anyone who thinks they can panic DP out of anything like you could in early sf4.

Those buttons on the back are probably pretty nice for a six button game, but directional inputs probably suck on it.

Wanted to pre-order for PS4, but I don't want PS+ in order to play online. Steam Version for me! Cross play is a god send.

You probably can since you invite people by in game id, which is shared between PS4 and PC, you don't go through PSN for invitations.

Don't seem so which why i going to play sp for hour or so to get colors .
Just put 5 starts as your minimum connection. Hopefully you'll find people in your region to play.

Agreed. I'm sure there will be growing pains at the games launch but I hope they're easy to resolve. For all intents and purposes I am PC only for SFV, so I hope it's as eloquent as it's PS4 brother.
Edit: Poll to see which platform gaffers are getting SFV on may be interesting. I would assume most are going PS4, but it'd be reassuring to see a large amount going PC.

There were more balance tweaks, yes.
funny enough, if you set the left stick to emulate a d-pad it is pretty good (at least for me) - almost like a gateless arcade stick. I just don't like playing six button games with four face buttons. having throws or other macros on the back buttons was great though.

Calling in to cancel my pre-order of the steelbook. It won't be here tomorrow anyway. I'm just gonna go out and buy it at the store, hopefully they'll have it in stock, and if not, I'll just be rolling with the standard edition. But I won't get any pre-order bonuses, so hopefully I'll be able to buy them in the shop come March.

I could do tachi Gigas in third strike but not yet here in SF5. Tachi Gigas was years ago, so maybe im a bit rusty.
However you can combo into Zangiefs CA. Jumping Bodysplash > MP > CA, or just Bodysplash into CA.
