You mean Capcom not being lazy about programming. The game with the best netcode I've played on a console is on the PS3.

Which one? (I'm sort of grading them on a curve, but with the PS4 horsepower there's really not a good excuse anymore.)

Hopefully PS4 solves our netcode woes.

How would that solve anything?

Skullgirls, Blazblue, TTT2, and SC5 all shit on any netcode in capcom games and all run flawless. The whole omg live has better online is a stupid ass placebo effect from people besides some random other downsides from capcom games.

P2P connections are P2P connections.

The BIGGEST downside to playing online with ps3? All the people that play with sony's shitty wireless receiver they have built into ps3's

I have to run on the crappy wireless because of my house layout. :(

Understandable lol. I used to do that too back when I first started sf4 up. Then I got fucking sick of it and bought a 50 yard Ethernet cable. :lol

Anyone down for some games by the way?

Just getting back into the groove this game. So far still funner than SF4, I don't think I have fun at SF4 anymore even if I'm winning..

"Does Alisa have any good defensive measures?"

Good anti-airs in both forms, super armor on both EX boots, IIRC, her DP in normal form is okay as a reversal, other than that, no. Her normals are also pretty slow overall, so her best defense is to not be on the defensive.

Pardon me if I'm being dense but how do you delete saves and player data on Vita? No options for it under settings as far as I could see although you can easily delete PSP SAVES...

M.Bison Psycho Crusher Tech

It's basically the same cross up psycho crusher he gained in SSF4 but now in SFxT it juggles and you can combo off of it. It makes Bison much more dangerous because one wrong block after combo and you can say goodbye to almost half of your health with no meter after the setup is complete.

Having been playing SFxT on steam on the PC.

Finally got my hands on it for the 360 due to the BOMBA sales been going on this week.

I have to say: 2013ver. has vastly changed the game. 200% better.

Thank you based Capcom!

Anyone have any clue when the update drops for PC.

I recently bought it and I'm enjoying it (I'm generally just shit at fighting games though), but I think with the update the community will probably be more active. I'd like to try some online stuff.

I saw that you were inviting me yesterday, but I was in a 2 man endless and didn't want the guy to think I was afk or wanted him to leave, because we had like, literally 50 really great games. I didn't have time to send a message, sorry.

This game is fucking garbage. Just not well made. These hitboxes...

Note to capcom, if you make another derp offense game, give us more movement options other than jump back hardkick to get out of pressure.

i really tried to give this game a go after the patch but i just couldn't settle on characters i either liked or was interested in their play styles.

i think this game is still very fun to watch.

How is the net code on the PS3 version? Game is really cheap right now so thinking about picking it up. What is the code comparable to?

You should like you have no idea what you're doing tbh. Back dash, teleport with certain characters, tag cancel, alpha counter.

Jump back HK works sometimes too, but it's not my goto option

What's not well made on the hit boxes? It can't be as bad as the Marvel hit spheres.

I am of the opinion that there are plenty of options to get out of pressure, not to mention the most important one is learning more about the offensive options of your opponent. If you learn what that characters options are, you understand how to deal with it and outside of any particularly bad match-ups that I don't know about, everyone has tools to use. If your character has less than ideal options while being rushed down, your meta-game is to play to your characters strengths and not get into those situations.

I also don't understand how the offense is too good but then people complain about the game being too defensive. The way I see it is that we can complain about any number of things in any game, but the small number of people who really are willing to learn, will adapt and achieve success.

Should I get this game for Vita or not? It's on sale and Im assuming has the 2013 patch as well? How much better is the game than when it first came out? Is it on the level of AE or is it just ok now?

I think you are entirely correct. Every Capcom game has certain points that need improved/fixed, but a lot of people will tell you the current build of SFxT is balanced much better than SF4 or UMvC3.

Lets not get started on how broken those two games are (even though I like them)

It has the patch yes. It is better well it depends on what you're looking for. It's best one we got for a CvS2 replacement as THE footsie game i.e. a very neutral heavy game. The combo engine has not changed really and is still as fun as it was. Throws removing red health and rolls being more of a risk changes A LOT. They also fixed the unblockables in this iteration of the sf4 engine so that's a plus.

Jab X Time outs is no more with v2013.

SFxT is like CvS2? I've never played CvS2 competitively(wheres the online edition capcom?!?!?) but I always loved that game when I messed around with it back in the day.

I was looking at some of PR_balrogs streams and it looks like even though timeouts are less frequent, they still happen pretty often, relatively speaking compared to other fighting games.

Can Vita users play against PS3 users?

There was always an illusion that this game was way too defensive. Its not and never was. Sure, you had things like cross counters and DP tags to get out of trouble. But getting in was always easy and only a few characters were defensive specialists. The majority of offense came from close-range footsies and boost combos.

You want a real defensive game? ST. Depending on the matchup you can literally be SCREWED just by guessing wrong at the start of the match. No long jumps, no dive kicks, no AA's trading to save you.

I think people who complain that xT was too defensive need to face an ST Guile player for a few hundred matches. This game has always rewarded offense, and much more so now.

Jin, Lili, Hwoarang, Kazuya, Law, and Chun-Li are generally viewed as the top characters. Minus Chun they're all offensive powerhouses.

Sweet. Do people still play this game though? I've noticed that this thread has slowed down quite a bit after the first few weeks.

You can always find an endless lobby. Ranked, depending on the time of day and the day of the week, may take some time to find a match.

I generally only play ranked, but I do it frequently
