So I watched Needless, God that was awful. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and watched two episodes, fuck that was some stupid shit.

Episode 2 of Taishou Yakyuu Musume was awesome as well, no song though. :( This show I'm definitely following.

Sora no Manimani was OK. Nothing really special, it might be amusing so I'll give it a few more episodes.

Spice and Wolf for me was again great. I only like the show because I like Hora and Lawrence's banter, I liked it the first season and I still like it, so I'm sticking with this. Also, I want an English BluRay release damnit.

Princess Lover sucked pretty hard as far as I'm concerned.

Bakemonogatari was pretty cool. I think Shaft's going overboard with the text though.

FMA15 got a ratings spike - 4.3%. Now to see if it can maintain higher ratings as the new material continues, or if it's going to eventually just slide back down to 2-3% again.

Considering what I was expecting from Princess Lover, it was watchable.

Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!! on the other hand, is the perfect pervert show. I kinda like it, but man oh man, some things are just "a bit" too much.

Anyways enjoying Bakemonogatari and Canaan, definitely some great animation there. Tho I wonder how many shower scenes they're gonna fit in the season...

Cross Game 15:

Wow,
Coach Daimon looks like he's gonna crash and burn. I was starting to think Azuma was set to sabotage that match at a vital point. Guess he'd consider that a bit back-handed, though.
Guess we know Azuma's drive now,
what with his brother
...

Canaan ep 2 was even more ridiculous than the first. I'll give it one more ep..

Bakemonogatari is great IMO. The dialogue between the 2 main characters is awesome :lol

Canaan seems to be lacking a good story to go with the rest, still liking the animation and setting.

Bakemonogatari is probably the best non-sequel this season.

Aoi Hana is delivering what it was supposed to, I guess.

Also, watched 1st eps of Tokyo Magnitude and Sora no Manimani today... Enjoyed TM 8.0, Sora no Manimani was watchable (can't stand characters like the club's president, but I'm giving this one more ep before dropping).

It's called Type Moon HIV. After 4-5 eps it'll develop into full blown Type Moon Aids. There's pretty much zero hope for the story or characters at this point. I just hope ep13 will be an insane and awesome fight between Canaan and Alphard with superb animation. :P

I may regret saying this, but I don't get it...
Darker than Black was a gritty and bloody, often good but never quite truly great, attempt at a serious and dark philosophical story. It had a bad ass Chinese protagonist who was a rogue agent that fucked up everyone who crossed him.

Now the new protagonist is a loli.

Commence :lol

I have not seen a single new episode of the new Haruhi season; could somebody summarize/provide a link explaining this controversy, as spoiler-free as possible?

It's too early to prejudge but that ain't looking good. :/

fushi:
1. Tanabata fun and time travel hijinx
2. Two week summer fun
3. Two week summer fun again
4. Two week summer fun again
5. Two week summer fun again

It's like we're stuck in a time loop, but we're all still watching! It's kinda hilarious.

Basically the last 3 epsiodes have been groundhog day of the 2 weeks of Summer fun with the SOS brigade... except they dedicated a whole episode per new loop.

So if you've seen episode 2 of the new series, you've also seen episodes 3, 4 and 5.

Edit: And 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 and... :/

The DtB II artwork is undoubtedly a fake out; plenty of serious shows pull this kind of thing in Newtype.

I just hope Misaki's still in it somehow :(

And there are no discernable differences between each episode? :/

On a whole no, the odd line of Kyon realising a deja vu feeling is added per episode, and epsiode 3 has a 5 minute section of where they all realise they're stuck in a time loop which gets groundhogged from then on.

That sounds pretentious and boring.

The second image looks to me like a clear case of playing up the comedy elements because that's the kind of images the readers want to see in their magazine. The first series had comedy elements too, remember? Gai and Kiko, anyone?

If there's anything out-of-place in those images, it's the fact that the girl in the second image appears to be the same character as the girl in the first image. Took me a moment to even realise they were the same person >_< But then, a character having two contrasting "faces" is always an interesting concept, and one plenty suited to the Darker than Black universe.

...In other words, it's a little early to be calling "OMG FAIL" and assume they're pulling a Geass R2 only worse. (Of course, if they are, then... stupidest move ever.

Ah, well, I get it now. :lol

Just watched Umineko 02, I couldn't help but laugh at the ending. Especially when
Battler flipped shit when the killer was called a demon
, good to see that the pacing is picking up though

CANAAN, Bakemonogatari and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 seem promising so far :D

Zan SZS seems like more of the same but I don't mind it too much.

FMA:B is picking up and I'm looking forward to the manga content (Never read it myself)

Black Lagoon was awesome. It had everything you want from an anime!

Good action, hot woman, fun, nazis, all kinds of mafia organizations just killing each other, maids, lolis, and much more!

and most importantly it have a scene where the normally pussy main character basically told Revy to go fuck herself.

Oh and Miss Baladaika.

Oh and Miss Baladaika.

Revy is one of the dumbest names in all of anime. And Black Lagoon lost it's appeal about 10 episodes in once the pussy turned macho cold blooded killer became too awesome to be believable

Honestly, She is one of the most badass characters ever conceived.

She starts off so nice...in a sick a way. First time you really get introduced to her. She is there watching a guy being tortured for info. And then gives the order to kill him off like a dog. Pretty much saving the main group of characters during the first season. Being that big nice over boss. I think my favorite quote was

Revy: OMG is that her ass?!
Balakaika: Going right up her ass
*Roc and Revy leave, while she continues to edit the porn*
Balakiakia: I want to die

To, Take your pick of the classical moments

Almost be like a mentor towards Rock and recognizing his potential to be a villain

Having compassion and remorse towards the Loli killers, at the same time completely justified in her actions without a inch of doubt on what is right. Blowing off his hand and knee. But refusing to torture them since she knows their story, yet unwilling to blend her path of justice.

She is insane...but in a sick sense the only sane one among them all. She does not try to hide nor pretend to be something else. She sees it for it is, unwilling and unflinching towards anything in her path. I know this is a bit ADD put together but there is way too much to say about her character.

I absolutely love her character and the entire show in general

Alright, so far it seems i'll be following Umineko and Tokyo Mag. 8.

Got to watch Tokyo Mag 8 earlier and honestly as I discussed with ducky before. He was right about my doubts. I still see it that Kinema Citrus + Bones had a fluke with E7 movie, but anyway! Mag 8's starting off decently so far, and I didn't mind the whole emo bit with the kid. You gotta start off with some character development. Seems like based off the credits tho, it's gonna be the trio sticking together.

Perhaps I'm just mental, but I'm going to keep watching Haruhi. I was confused the first time it looped. I actually closed the episode down thinking I'd accidentally clicked the first one again. I wouldn't mind if there was a little more variety to it, though. Perhaps focus on completely different events and just have passing mentions of the ones in previous, rather than long parts which are just repeats, like the Pool bits.

Actually I finally watched episode 5 today. It really was all new material despite being same event. Different commentary, angles and order of events. It does feel like we're getting closer to a conclusion.

Just watched Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 episode 1. I enjoyed it. There's a lot of good attention to detail there. Animation and art reminds me a bit of Birdy Decode.

Don't really get the complaints about the main character's attitude in TM8.0. It's obviously a setup. The girl wished for destruction and now she's in the middle of a disaster. So we get to see how she copes with the aftermath. I wonder if there will be a compelling story, considering disaster movies are a dime a dozen.

Her actual name is Rebecca. So... Rebecca -> shortens into the nickname Reby -> which ends up as Revy/Levy because its Japan.
