Summer 2009 Anime Season

I wasn't expecting much from him anyway :(

Series composition is Mari Okada who doesn't inspire any hope, outside of maybe Red Garden. But you just never know with directors in regards to how much control they take over and whether they feel obligated to throw themselves at the entire subject matter, to have roundtable sessions, or to even let others go wild at the pen. God damn it Ando!
 
Rumor has it it's to run for 6 episodes, so no matter what next week will be more of the same.

Apparently there's no actual new material in this episode at all (I haven't seen it myself, this pic is from the 2ch thread) so you don't have to even bother this time, save yourself the grief.

Yep, we get at least one more loop. A rumour was posted on 2chan saying Endless Eigth is 6 episodes long and all season 2 will have is Bambo, Endless, Sighs and a new Mikuru adventure.
 
Spice and Wolf II or Zetsubou could save a season by themselves. Together? Oh man sweetness. Not to mention there are quite a few shows that look like they have the potential to be pretty good. Could go either way though. On the downside this summer home only has dial up so I won't be able to watch anything for another 10 weeks or so. I guess that means I get to have a many day marathon when I get back to civilization yay.
 
What... what... the hell are Kyoto Animation THINKING?

There's no way this is gonna go down well. Do they really expect DVDs consisting of episodes identical to the previous disc (IIRC, anime DVDs in Japan only have 2 eps per disc) to fly off the shelves? Even if they do, the sales compared to what they could've been...

It's not like they've got a shortage of material to cover - even if they met all the expectations, they wouldn't be at the end of the novels yet! And there was what, three years between this season and the last?
 
It's yet another shonen high school series with a genki girl and a possible harem, but I liked the first episode of Sora no Manimani. At least it's a break from the summer of the tsundere.

When is the first Zetsubou Epi? I thought it was last Sunday, but I guess it is this Sunday?

It's already out in RAW form, like all past Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei series we'll probably have to be patient with the subs.

I'll swipe the raw. My Japanese is nowhere near good enough to follow that show, but I'll see what I can do. In fact, I imagine people who are able to follow most shows as raws still need subtitles to get any kind of enjoyment from that show.
 
Woo despite the Haruhi trolls, Umineko continues to deliver. Episode I- Chapter II was a 8/10 for me

The first twilight is fulfilled

The fun begins.

There's a sub out now, don't know how good it is though.
 
The CG in Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 was quite impressive. The people in the background actually moved realistically and not like robots. :o
 
The first time, I was happy

The second time, I was confused, but intrigued

The third time, I was angry

The fourth time, I just laughed my head off

If the pattern follows, I expect that

The fifth time, I'll cry myself to sleep

The sixth and final time, I just won't care anymore.

Spice and Wolf II is off tot a nice start. Looks like it's going to cover alot of ground.

Great opening, just like the first season, and a much better ED song (no engrish!)

I don't see that point as very compelling though. Spending 20 minutes on an episode is pretty insignificant. I can watch pretty much anything. Shit, it took me years to drop Simpsons and look how bad that got.

The first time was a nice new episode.

The 2nd time I watched it all without realising, I saw the exact same episode till the end and thought it was cute.

Now it's a joke too far.

The sad thing is I'm going to watch the "new" Endless Eight episode anyway.
 
I can't believe people waited years for a new season of Haruhi and now, half of the season is going to be the same episode they keep repeating. :lol

Seriously, half the season is Endless Eight? Way to kick fans in the nuts. This is worse than when they tried to be deep and air season 1 out of order.
