I didn't finish Monster yet, but the early episodes were the most interesting and well done from what I saw. If you don't like it from the start I don't exactly see your opinion turning more positive as the series goes on.

K-On and Haruhi both sell 30-40k+ on their individual series volumes. The Haruhi movie sold about 135k. The K-On movie should do similar numbers.

Monster was probably one of my biggest disappointments in anime. It sounded like it was right up my alley and for years I saw GAF consistently hyping it up, but when I finally sat down to watch it, it just frustrated and bored me. I ended up dropping it after episode 12 or 13.

The best parts of the show were the OP and ED.

Kokurikozaka Kara only made 56 million at the box office. Eva 2.0 made 40 million. K-On made 21 million. With Eva 3.0 opening even wider than 2.0 did, and with hype and marketing going through the roof, there's a great chance that 2012 will be the year where a new anime movie out-grosses the latest Ghibli movie.
