Envelope noooooo~

Not liking it is understandable. Hating it actively seems a bit odd given it's not a badly made show at all.

That's true. Its not for everyone, but KyoAni obviously feeds its animators more than a box of ramen. they might actually eat real food and have lives judging by the love that is put into K-on. And there is love there.

The moral of the story is:

Some people just hate cats.
You know what? K-On kinda sucks. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but it's true. It's a boring show about a bunch of girls being cute and having fun while kinda-sorta making music (which isn't even really good) without there being any sort of actual dramatic arc or purpose. Shouldn't artists have higher goals and ambitions rather than to just chill out and be happy? They should think of how they can contribute to the world. Instead they just don't care. Maybe that's how they are, but should such a viewpoint be encouraged and glorified? Probably not.

I ask you: What more does one need out of life? I think you just need to be chill and let yourself be happy, my friend.

Funimation has this new web survey up, mostly asking about consumer habits, though at the end they do ask "what books/films/games would you like to see as an anime-style movie" so I guess they're fishing for ideas on what to do after Dragon Age & Mass Effect. Plus the survey also serves as an entry into a drawing for a DVD/BD set of your choice.

Good things have people dying in it, though. No one dies = not good.

"His list of those whom he calls the "good writers" -- Melville, Dostoyevsky, Faulkner -- precludes anyone who doesn't "deal with issues of life and death.""

The utterly frivolous nature of K-ON places it squarely in that sphere of entertainment devoted to the casualization and destruction of children and manchildren, a socialist scalpel applied to the minds of Japanese viewers.

To sum it up Kyoani=communists and you should feel bad for watching it.

e: also i guess the dvd for the movie sold 25k in two days

K-On is the worst thing since The Marriage Plot!

K-on is about as harmful as Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, or even the recent Joshiraku. Cute girls doing cute things is a mainstay in anime now. There's no turning back.

At least the ponies are cute and look like ponies. The chipmunks are disgusting.

i would not go that far calling them communists, but K-On was ment to become grade a mega moe bait but the Fujoshi sort of took over.

Did they really ban Envelope for "spoiling"
Cure Passion
? Seriously? Toei themselves redid all the official art to include her from the very beginning for the Taiwanese and Italian releases of Fresh Precure.

Now that's a depressing thought. Also, I feel like Azumanga doesn't really belong in that list seeing how it's actually funny and stuff.

Does this mean I can no longer talk about
Cure Sunshine
when discussing Heartcatch?

Well, to be fair,
Passion is more spoiler-ish than Sunshine since she is a resurrected antagonist and all that.

Still pretty weird considering she is an all advertisement for Fresh Precure these days.

It seems so. Except like you said theres fanart and pictures of her every time you type in the name of the show on google. If shes a secret, shes the worst kept secret since...well anything Microsoft has ever tried to keep secret.
Actually, I have several pictures of her because she was pleasant to look at and I havent even seen the show. Such is the conundrum of a cuteness connoisseur.

The Ponies are no better than the chipmunks. Its just Gurrilla Marketing at its finest for the Ponies. There one and the same audiance.

And the Thundercats logo will forever be a bat signal to warn people of the most shithouse rat crazy anime fan ever.

this is what i've been saying since last year and none of you have tried to listen!

It's just real weird since Fresh Pretty Cure is not exactly a recent show.

I knew from the first day the mainstream media said 4chan and MLP in the same paragraph.

I went like...OH...SHIT...

Did you just compare K-On with Azumanga Daioh? I mean, I like K-On, but it's like comparing Seinfeld with Hannah Montana. K-On isn't trying to be funny. Unless you find pulling faces hiiiilarious.

What do you mean by new? Genshiken is a great series though and so is Genshiken 2.
Doesn't seem like the kind of show DTL would like. Is there anything with brawling maidens in it? Hmmm..Tenjo Tenge?

Isnt that show like Welcome to the NHK? NHK wasnt that good so I dont really want anything else like it, especially if it has a Misaki type character.

He should watch one of those harem animes with 30 girls, like Negima.

Ive always had Negima on my manga backlog, but I didnt know it was harem and with 30 girls, I mean, isnt that just way too much? That has to be like fanservice every panel or something.
