Thoughts after four episodes of K-ON!!: AnimeGAF is like GAF's own light music club. We bicker with each other over silly stuff, but we are in fact so close with each other and we have so much fun with each other that we alienate any potential new members.

Despite all that I decided to join the club anyway. Does that make me the Azusa of AnimeGaf?

Is anyone here watching it?

As usually, a good episode. It's refreshing to see a mature and realistic approach to love for once, instead of the usual tsuntsun bullshit that plagues most anime. The interaction between Shimao and Hazuki are also quite cool.

Hopefully they can keep this quality for all the 11 episodes.

For anyone else who cares about Seitokai no Ichizon, there's been some cast/staff changes.

Yuka Saitou, who originally played Chizuru Akaba in the first series, is being replaced by Mina (Heaven's Lost Property's Sohara Mitsuki, Is This a Zombie?'s Kanami Mihara). Yuki Horinaka, who originally played Mafuyu Shiina, will be replaced by Iori Nomizu (Heaven's Lost Property's Nymph, Cat Planet Cuties' Antonia).

Previously it was revealed that Masahito Onoda has replaced Kumi Horii as the character designer on the new series. AIC is producing the new series instead of Studio DEEN, and Kenichi Imaizumi is directing the series with series script editor Reiko Yoshida, instead of Takuya Satō and Jukki Hanada for the same roles in the 2009 anime version.

I liked Mafuyu's VA so that's quite a shame. I also had no idea they changed character designers and that Deen is no longer doing the show. Yoshida's also on board now. Those are some pretty significant changes. I didn't mind Deen's go at the first season. It was one of the few or maybe only Deen shows I liked in a long while. Changing to AIC is fine I guess. I've enjoyed a fair amount of their productions for some time. Yoshida doing the script is... I don't know how that's going to turn out. She's done some comedy like in School Rumble before iirc. Wonder how different the show is going to be now.

No problem! I actually forgot to mention they also made two more drama albums that are basically audio-only versions of the R and S movies. I've only listened to the R movie one, but they didn't have to change much.

I think you're confusing Mitsuishi, who had to mentally prepare herself before doing Usagi, with Excel's first english dub actress.

Sorry my fault,I meant Mitsuishi. I can see now I only wrote "she".

As mentioned, it was Goldfish Warning.

As for what came after Sailor Moon... Junichi Satou, who directed SM s1, some of R and episodes in S, Supers, and Stars also did Magic User's Club and Princess Tutu and worked with Takuya Igarashi, director of Stars, to make Ojamajo Doremi. Igarashi also did Ouran High School Host Club. I'm sure you're already aware that Kunihiko Ikuhara went on to make Utena and Penguin Drum.

The animation staff also went on to make Cutie Honey F after Stars, but this is mostly just an art connection.

Princess Tutu is freaking awesome. I usually don't watch these kind of shows, but in Tutu everything, to the writing and the characters, is freaking amazing. Watch it as soon as you can.

Kind of late, but...

Technically, the Pretty Cure crossover movies form a self contained universe, even though they don't really "count" for the tv shows. The first three were all connected to each other storywise, and New Stage's Fusion also was the villain of the original DX 1. The crossover movies also have consistently kept the idea that Pretty Cures are publicly known ever since the second one at least. They don't count for the tv series though, so, if Echo returns, it'll be just in these crossover movies.
