First episode wasn't too bad, though the premise isn't my most liked type of story but Bambina could be interesting to follow in this adventure.

This show is a wild fucking ride and I'm loving it. I hope we get to meet this John Titor, but at the same time it might be better if we don't.

The cell phone girl is kinda getting on my nerves. I know this anime is based on a VN and whatever, but so far it seems like she could have just been left out. We'll see if she actually serves any purpose to the plot.

The first seven episodes are the worst, so put your seatbelt on!

Huh. So Chihiro knows how to be a badass. His teasing speech towards Danichirou was cool. But can you really
stab someone with an épée? Dang. Watching Chihiro shrug that absurd wound off and give him a headbutt afterwards was one hell of a satisfying moment.

This episode made it clear that Deen has absolutely no idea of how to properly do tone switches. Those final minutes
after Chihiro woke up
were such a mess. "Drama! Now pour some kawaii! Now do the funny face thing! Now some tension! Now fanservice boob shots! Now focus on Wanko's ass! Now happy music! Now stupid flashback! Now funny faces again! And finally drama!" It gets really tiring.

That would have been a perfect final episode, but you highlighted my main issue with many parts of the anime, it had pieces in place to be rather compelling but then the random focus changes would ruin anything that it tried to set up. Bunny from the dead didnt help either.

Living in the shadow of Amaz
Sankarea 12 -END-

Do we really have to deal with Chihiro's annoying grandfather or his obnoxious friend in the very last episode? Oh well.

Guess they didn't bother coming up with an ending, possibly in hopes that they'll get to work on another season. The episode did find a way to demonstrate how shitty life as a zombie is and that Rea, Chihiro, and Wanko will inevitably suffer because of such condition, though.

I don't know if it would be fair to call this series a disappointment, considering how I had no expectations going in and how great the first three episodes were. From that perspective, I got more than I could've hoped for out of this show.

Yeah, that's another great example of the lack of focus problem. Was that whole sequence really necessary? I wonder. He could've just said "oh, I like that", and the viewer would already get the message that
he wasn't worried about his fatal wound
without having the tension irreversibly dismantled.

Yeah... even the animators probably felt bored. A lot of striking body language. Ending to the arc was quite predictable.

Shit is still boring though. Still a decent enough watch.

HxH and new shit tomorrow (pornsuit equipping gif of muvluv is hilarious). weee~

It really depends on how high your tolerance is for balls going in circles.

Also, with the first arc of Season Two they notably truncated the original source material and made the whole experience tighter. They did not do the same for the second arc.

I haven't made a detailed comparison, but a quick glance seems to indicate that the chapter-to-episode ratio is roughly similar for both arcs; the Bog arc is just that much more dragged out and the adaptation didn't bump up the amount of compression it was doing to get it to a reasonable pace. It's unfortunate, but I still enjoyed it. At least it's not quite as bad as the Washizu arc in Akagi.

If you ever start to compare anything to that arc you know you're in trouble. I imagine they had to make a certain number of episodes but really, the whole arc dragged by at least seven or eight episodes and complete removed any enjoyment I was getting from the show.

Yeah, I imagine watching that part week-to-week would be excruciatingly painful, instead of consuming it after the fact like I ended up doing. Hopefully one day there'll be a Gambling Emperor Zero anime, where we won't have to worry about these sorts of pacing issues.

I still don't get why Ymir is so evil, but those were nice episodes, with some interesting battles and lots of fanservice, plus Captain Liliana came back with her awesome laughing.

Annelotte's
transformation was both cool and hot
and I really appreciate her harem building's skills. I hope she'll be able to add Liliana to it.

Sequel of the season (Horizon 2) has a new promo!

More BlazBlue character goodness all around.

A W E S O M E

This is how you make a PV to hype a show.
I can't wait for it to start!

Welcome, fellow AnimeGaffer!

We truly are wonderful.

I'd say none of us are trust worthy here.

Hey. We have our moments.

New batch of juniors again, eh? Welcome to the asylum. AnimeGAF is actually a pretty good place to try and work off that perilous junior status, just don't knowingly link to hentai, avoid the subject of fansubbing completely, and if Envelope asks you to lick his flap, don't do it.

By most accounts Moyashimon Returns and Bimbougami ga appear to be the most promising shows of summer, although there have already been good impressions for Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita and Tari Tari and likely more series as they air. Don't take recommendations to watch Earth Maiden Arjuna or Blood-C seriously until you have some time here under your belt. Enjoy your stay!
