Watching it felt like I was flipping channels and landed on something while missing the

That's because while it's the first movie, chronologically it takes place much later. Personally it's not that great, the later movies are much better.

Also yeah, the OST is great, the ending themes are simply phenomenal

And because I know people will ask for this edit.

Chinatsu is awesome.

Yey started with Paranoia Agent, and yey for not being a junior anymore. ^_^

Nice choice, and congratulations!

It looks alright to me for a dvd. It probably could be a bootleg, I really don't know.
Huh. So the disc does contain vob files and whatnot?

You know, then again, given that Malaysia is like China in terms of piracy, maybe they just put out super cheap and officially licensed anime out there because any money is better than no money.

Sailor Moon S 111

I decided to give this show one last chance.

It failed miserably.

Thanks for ruining Sailor Moon for me, everyone who made this abomination.

Dropped.

Why drop it so tsun??

Paranoia Agent 03

So the plot is a kid going around beating people up with his golden bat, okay... No disrespect to Satoshi Kon(RIP) but I just dont like his works, except for Millenium Actress.

Oh there's much more to Paranoia Agent than what you describe. What you think is there may not be and vice versa.
That's how Satoshi Kon does things.

I want them to
stop killing people and putting the world at risk for the sake of a no-personality alien girl. I want them to pull a Kenshin and owe up to their crimes, spending the rest of their lives helping people. I want Holland and Talho to die.
You don't seem to understand
how important Eureka is. Gekkostate are not the ones putting the world at risk, though perhaps that hadn't been explained properly yet.
Basically, you need the watch the rest of the series to get proper context for their actions.

Gekkostate really is privileged disaffected youth for a large part of the series though. It's the "Girls" of anime!

I'll never understand how people can find Renton unlikeable just like I'll never understand how they can say all he does is whining.

Near the end, Renton is pretty GAR. I mean the last episode is dedicated to showing how much of a badass he is.

Sometimes I can't tell if you are just trying to be ironic or not.
I hated Holland for a long time too. lol

Likability has nothing to do with a comparison of the couples dynamic in Crest of the Stars v. Eureka 7. It can't happen because Renton
actually gets the girl
(SPOILERS!!!) whereas Jinto
is so meek and unmotivated as to appear asexual
.

Not to mention that Renton (& his beau) get actual character development whereas Jinto is the same damp towel from beginning to end while his not-GF makes personal strides forward.

But who cares really, Spoor > all.
Urge to watch falling. :p

The Light of El Cantare
Miracle Train: Oedo-sen e Youkoso 11:

lololol what the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

This episode's damsel in distress?
A GHOST AHAHAHAHAHAH.

"Miracle Train I have a problem.
I wander aimlessly from place to place without ever arriving at a destination.
"

"
Your cell phone isn't even on when you use it, you can pass through solid objects, and your boyfriend has erected a memorial at the spot you're always trying to meet him. You're dead.
"

"
Well, fuck.
Thanks Miracle Train!"

Man, I'll admit that I got totally sucker-punched by that twist, though
the episode was inconsistent about her ability to interact with physical objects, Menma-style, and her problem was set up to be "girl is really easily distracted and the train bishies have to escort her from point A to point B so that she's not late for her date with her boyfriend".

There was an inordinate amount of camera focus on the girl's phone, which was conspicuously dirty and scratched. I was at least able to deduce that there was going to be some sort of twist, but I was fully expecting her to just be homeless/delusional and lying about having a boyfriend. But..........a ghost? ahahahahahah.

firehawk, I don't know how the final two episodes are going to top this but I'm trusting you.

Smile 25

So much derp. But the fight lasting like half the eps was a pleasant surprise.

AND THAT NEW ENDING.

Is it just me going crazy or are the CG models getting better? Don't remember all the frills having physics.

I'm surprised you didn't post the
nighty
shot. :p
Also, how the hell did
he get a bed in the middle of a park?

Crest of the Stars is pretty good, but the long exposition-y conversations Jinto & Lafiel have in the beginning are like the best part of their relationship. The side characters are worth watching for tho, imo.

Lafiel's a decent character, while Jinto's a bit sucky, and the end (Banner III) is laaaaaame, but I still liked Sekai no... a lot overall.
Wait, I watched the best part of Lafiel and Jinto?
I can't tell if you're trying to convince me to watch the show or not. lol

The Light of El Cantare
If the goal is to make me want to punch him , yeah ...

Considering how he looks in the actual show rather than bad yaoi art, Hirako Shinji is probably the only character who can rock that particular hairstyle without looking like a complete moron/douche.

I'm afraid that question will join the ranks of other unanswerable Amagami SS TV series questions like "Why didn't Junichi hook up with Hibiki or the hot teacher?" or "Is Sae x Miya the only OTP worth caring about?"

I'm just being honest, mang.

I figure you'd probably like it since it's a rare space opera (which I think you like? maybe?) anime that doesn't totes suck, but if you don't I'm not going to try to convince you to continue something you don't enjoy.
I guess the difference is that Battleship Yamato has no qualifiers. lol
The remake even opens with a fleet battle!

But let me ask you this - how many episodes until the first ship fires any kind of weapon or the chief engineer screams "she canna take much more of this!"?

To be fair, some of them don't even have enough characterization to be considered characters. They are basically slightly more than background characters.

I think it was more a limitation of running time than anything else. They did flesh out Moondoggie a bit in the prequel videogames. It's just due to the raw number of characters that have a good amount of screentime, they fleshed out the villains particularly well, that I think they couldn't go more into some of the side-characters' backstories.

haven't seen the show , i'm running on instincts alone ..but i suppose i can take your word for it.

What. They had plenty of time, they just squandered it.

Sailor Moon S 110

I think I need these again:

I finished the series! A perfect ending. I don't even need to watch the 17 bonus episodes
now that the 2 villains are dead. Yay.

Haha If you think there anuses now, you haven't seen nothing.

I have nothing against them for being a bunch of anuses but the reason why I hate those awful characters is, there bloody wrong all the time in every arc they play the same damn role they never learn, worst of all neither do the other sailors, they continue to listen to them like the episode before it never happened and all the other arcs and episodes.

No one learns in sailor moon after the 30mins are up there visited by the MIB and given a mind wipe.

looks better than kingdom

Neverrr

There's really only a couple of episodes that I would say were wasted, one being the soccer and the other being the pranking one. They had to flesh out Eureka and Renton both as individuals and as a couple, Holland, Talho, Anemone, Dominic, Ray, Charles, and Dewey.

Star Driver 22 - 25 (end)

Really enjoyed all of Star Driver and am baffled why I kept it unwatched for so long. The play episode in this set was a really nice change of pace and actually really emotional in it for Columna and Crace. I should probably find if someone penned a fanfic off of it. Regardless, the remaining episodes were a great ride in friendship drama and so many colorful lights and sounds. The two ending episodes definitely rank up there for to me for one of the most memorable ending experiences.
And leading up to it with Sugata going to Kiraboshi, and the class president, and then just Samekeh (23 had the best team up moment for Sugata and Takuto glorious eccentric tau missle), and Head and all of the key members of Kiraboshi to that out of the world ending moment of Sugata and Takuto, it was really good (the black and white moment too is unforgettable). The emotional aspect was well done, I got a bit teary eyed when Sugata was gonna take and seal it away, sacrificing himself, but thankfully, Wako and Takuto!
. Ill probably rewatch it all this fall in one or two settings just to relive it.

The music was a high point with all the songs, the first song was the most memorable one with all is still in monochrome, and then the final one introduced was the second favorite but they were all good. Most characters were well done that I actually kind of liked Wako there and Takuto, Takeshi, Takeo, Sugata, Reiji, were my favorites. All of the fight scenes were really a blast and the out of zero time stuff never felt old. The school setting was just how I enjoy it in mangas I read. I loved the personalities of Sugata and Takuto, they complemented each other well, had good designs, memorable comedy moments, and I liked how they both almost mirrored each other/and thought of each other when separated. Takuto and Sugata were a blast living together dueling and the numerous bath scenes, I'd give this 10/10.

Sub quality on Bandai's blu rays was really quality probably a benchmark was set in typeface and readiblity for dvd and blu ray subs going on. It makes funimations subs look like garbage. Too bad they arent doing more anime releases as I think it was really quality for the $50 for 26 episodes. Only flaw was when insert song lyrics was going on as well as dialogue, so two lines of subs, they would keep flashing.
