Fuck yo numbers, I got math!

The song. Isn't it amazing?
The music is pretty bangin.
If this is your reaction after the first episode...

I don't see how the creator(Ikuhara, correct?) could finish a full length series like this. Surely he would have died from ODing on whatever the hell he's on before the halfway point.

Random question: was Shinbo's work in Madoka Magica inspired by this? Because some of the shots and little touches are giving me Madoka flashbacks.

what in the fuck

Get ready for another 38 episodes of exactly the same animation recycled over and over ad infinitum!

Seriously, if you get tired of the mindbreaking repetition, just skip to Mawaru-Penguindrum. You'll get the full dose of Ikuhara without 10 minutes of every 24 minutes episode being repeated exactly the same over and over!

It's by SHAFT isn't it? They're well known for releasing a beta version for tele and the full release on BD.

I don't even know much about anime but I know that.

I never knew that, I'm watching the CMS release. I enjoyed Nisemonogatari more than Bakemonogatari, except for the parts with Senjogahara.

Yup, this is Ikuhara's brainchild. I still can't believe you're talking about this being insane after the first episode because...man, you seriously haven't seen a thing yet. This is clearly going to be a rare and special experience for you if you're already this into it, so I can't say anything else because you really need to experience the show 100% unspoiled!

Ikuhara was one of several influences on Shinbo's style, although I don't know if there are any direct references to Utena in Madoka. They do share some commonalities like high-concept architecture, of course.

He needs to watch the movie after too!

You could have just pulled the rose out of your lapel at the start of the duel, you big dummy.

Oh man, the references to recycled footage were no joke. Jeez. And I can't put my finger on it, but something about Anthy's design really bugs me.(no racist)

I'm 34 episodes in, and this really isn't true (at absolute worst, an episode will recycle three to four minutes of animation, and that's incredibly rare). But if it winds up bothering you that much, you can just skip through the recycled animation parts when they start boring you.

Utena's really good. I'm going to finish it this week.

I hit a wall after about 3 episodes of the Black Rose Saga. The Evangelion Symbolism* wasn't doing anything for me and I was bored shitless by the repetition. I think it was i-d who told me to just skip to the last 4 episodes to watch the final arc and be done with it. I might end up doing that one day just to say I finished that goddamned show.

Evangelion Symbolism (n): Symbolism inserted because it looks cool, not because it particularly means anything.

Jesus christ Utena get out of there

This episode had me cracking up, though I'm not sure how much of it was intentional. The scene where Nanami signals to the waiter was straight out of an old James Bond flick.

The champagne ejaculation of shame was great.

edit: also, dub was inferior but not horribad. Decided to stick to subs as the screencaps imply.

It's a shame that KyoAni's next show doesn't look to have background art nearly as good as Hyouka's.

It's a slight step down, but most people would gladly trade that for a more exciting show.

Goddammit, I can't get this out of my head.

You aint kiddin. yuru Yuri has incredibly powerful earworms. The ending theme is just as addictive. The music really ramped up the fun level of the show.

Oh my. You're doomed.

By some freak coincidence when I used google to find the above popcorn gif I found this old post from you on the next page:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=29433848&postcount=7263

So, did DearS end up saving you from writing off harem anime after all?

Well by that time I had already seen DEARS several times, and was probably sarcastic there, but I did have to take a break from haremshit for a while. I haven't sworn off it completely though. I don't mind a show like Accel World and SAO being disguised haremshits, because there is a fun adventure story surrounding it.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. Such a timeless song. One of my favorites.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!

Maybe it's because I am easily impressed, but I'm surprised to see you call anything shit. I thought you loved everything.

Just to rub some salt in the wound of everyone waiting for it, here's what a quick search turns up on the history of Kizu:

For the sake of completeness:
(May 2008: the Kizumonogatari novel is published)
(July 2009: elements of Kizumonogatari are shown in the previously-linked first minutes of Bakemonogatari episode 1)

And so:
- July 2010: Kizumonogatari anime adaptation confirmed
- March 2011: said adaptation is confirmed to be a movie
- September 2011: the first "trailer" for Kizumonogatari is streamed, with the movie planned to open in 2012
- April 2012: Kizumonogatari is delayed to 2013
