Maybe the manga is more self-aware, but the anime is just silly given that it wants to be Inazuma Eleven but set in the real world.

But fair enough, maybe you want to watch the anime. Why would you want to own it though?

Why? because Aomine is awesome. :D

The manga n anime is just semi-realistic, and what make me like it because its showcase all amazing thing you want to see in bball game, as in highlight reel.

Midorima 3-point was ridic, that the thing I don't like the most in the series. But outside that? Its actually pretty imaginable. Its basketball highlight reel in animanga form, Sick trick, Slam dunk on everywhere, Isolation duel between the supertar, Shaq's clone, Clutch shootout, its awesome. The author is clearly NBA fan. He understand the bullshit basketball fan always dreaming for to see. Chara like Kagami and Aomine was basically Blake Griffin and Lebron that always pulling sick play lol.

Fanboy example : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXQYLOrFarw&feature=player_detailpage#t=265s

that's fangasmic for me.

America has like one Lebron/Jordan/Kobe/whatever every few years... here, they have 6 super awesome players gathered in one place. I really think this team is better than any American dream team ever assembled. lol

Nice flowerpot indeed.

And speaking of which, Taichi got run over by the train. That's where he is!

Minako without her ribbon is practically unrecognizable!

This was the first episode out of the past few that I've really enjoyed. Unlike the character episodes Rei and Ami got recently, this one didn't just re-establish a fact we already know about the characters
like Ami works hard, Rei has her tsundere moments.

exrFZ.jpg

Clamp is always lurking, waiting to strike

I was pleased that they didn't pull some bullshit like "oh this girl is just my sister/cousin/childhood friend/etc", Minako's ex-crush has moved on from her, and she missed her chance. Artemis's move at the end was very touching, especially coming from him.

Also Haruka and Michiru again had little screentime, which definitely helps.

Ice cold. Taichi will forever be shit on :(

Can't win Chihaya's love despite hanging out with her everyday and can't beat Arata in Karuta. Attempts to make progress only to get bitchslapped back to zero by a Arata email or phone call. Dude can't catch a break.

Actually interested in Chuunibyou now...

Also Oda Nobuna is the anime of the season! It also happens to be the only anime I've watched in 2 months... but yeah anime of the season!

A basketball anime beats Hyouka and Haiyore!

The first talisman is found! Inside Usagi, of course. Fortunately, it looks like things may be coming to a head with Neptune and Uranus.

It's obvious what Ami's real true love is

Just as predictably, once the talisman is actually found, Uranus and Neptune are having a very hard time actually going through with it, despite all their flippancy earlier. Perhaps they can still be redeemed.

Oda Nobuna - 4

I wasn't fond of how incompetent they made Nobuna here. She basically only won due to Sagaru's actions, and he only went forth because he knew that Nobunaga won in the original past. In the previous few episodes, he was changing history, but I don't see why he was necessary here for an historical event to take place.

Sukeban Deka Dub 2 END

"Something's going to happen, I can sense it. Something's going to happen but I don't know what." - Vice Principal Jyuujou Numa

My god, I don't think anyone, not even the greatest fortune teller's of our time could possibly hope to predict what was going to take place given how insanely over-the-top it was. Everything from
the ridiculously convoluted way in which Junko died, the backfiring shotgun, THE DARK INSPECTOR, the double murder suicide and the BRAINWASHING COMPUTERS behind it, THE HELICOPTER VS JIN MEXICAN STANDOFF, CRAZY BLOOD AND THE FUCKING YO-YO HEADSHOT!
THIS IS FUCKING INCREDIBLE!

"THIS ISN'T JUSTICE!" - Saki Asamiya

The Dub of this is definitely a must watch if only to witness the greatest laughs and some of the very best screams in dub history. I honestly can't imagine watching this any other way. It's too good that it's any wonder why we didn't get more of this.

I agree with everything in this post. Sukeban Deka is a CLASSIC.

Finally finished Area 88

Really enjoyed this anime. artwork was serviceable, really liked the supporting characters, Mickey knows how to fly in style. Don't know why but love fighters so much more than mechs.

Leaves me really wanting an Ace Combat anime starring

But that will never happen.

Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru 4

tvTN6.jpg

I wish I had the energy to make a .gif of this part. I'm sure I could find uses for it.

This is one of my favorite episodes so far. Tons of great reactions from Moriaki-sensei. And as everyone well knows, making silly faces in response to stupidity is the pinnacle of all humor.

EFIXX.jpg

This was my personal favorite reaction.

Also, the dilemma over the chairs in the teacher's room was some Death Note-tier fretting over incredibly small things.

Soredemo has been remarkably consistent so far. I'm happy after every episode.

Its the OP. It is infectious and you feel great through the episode. It overrides anything negative about the show.

Lol, they got ya. When you said you were going to
take a break after that. I wanted to just tell you to 'keep watching' but that would have spoiled it.
the things I said about character development were true though.

Finished Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0
Was pretty meh, too similar to the regular series for me. Liked 2.0 much more.

I never would have expected that to happen. The series best kept secret.
Usually character deaths keep from watching an anime for a few days, but I had to go on just to see if he was 100% confirmed dead, which Im glad he isnt, now he just needs a Mobile Suit

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing 13

Im enjoyed Zechs having some focus. I hope he doesnt keep the Talgiuz(sp) as his permanent MS because its pretty clunky even if powerful. But he has an actually good personality for an antagonistic unit and actual motives that would make one think that Oz could be a pretty decent organization if it didnt have such incompetant individuals as the two that was on his mission this episode.
They could have sparred the people after they surrendered instead of executing them, seriously, what was that even about.
.

Trowa just needed a hug there
Fortunately he didnt have as much inspiration as Heero and thankfully didnt act on his emotions to go through with self detotonating, I didnt want to go through the loss of another pilot.

Best ending:
there was never a ghost and he's hallucinating all of it, but makes up being possessed in order to get to the wife without feeling any NTR guilt. Bonus points if he's also somehow sleeping with the sister-in-law as himself and he somehow manages to have two relationships going on at the same time and as two different people.

You really need to watch less anime; your perception of storytelling have clearly been warped.

It should be noted that it's not really a "barely animated storybook" but rather an actual storybook. The book just happens to come with an image drama DVD or Blu-ray, depending on which one you get. It's not really an anime release, but an actual book. It's also pretty cheap - 3,675yen for the DVD version, and 4,200yen for the Blu-ray version.

Once again, this is a low priced actual storyboard:

Genmu Senki Leda

It's nice to be surprised. I started this thinking it was going to be run-of-the-mill girl transported to a fantasyland show. Indeed, it started like that.

The story is simple enough. Yohko composes a song that's supposed to embody the love she feels for a classmate or whatever but before she can give it to him, she's transported to an alien world, Ashanti, as the song she composed was actually a key that allowed such. It's the heart of Leda, a remnant of a legendary warrior, and whether by coincidence or design, her song was the same. She's quickly forced to acclimate herself to the world

It was about here I was ready to shut this off and come back some other time. Instead I put that off until the first action sequence and I was sold for the rest of the OVA. If Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01 was mechanical animation porn, Genmu Senki Leda is the same for Kanada style animation. Anytime the action kicked up, it was just a joy to watch and there was more than enough to carry me to the end. It's not to say the OVA didn't have its faults as I didn't much care for the flashbacks to the real world or the insert songs but hey, the animation helped elevate this to something very neat to watch. There's a little clip of a transformation sequence that's sort of the OVA distilled. I'd say if one liked what they see here, said person would be onboard with the fantasy elements and OVA in general.

Also, this was neat:

I had never heard of this before; though, the cover art seems vaguely familiar. It actually sounds and looks pretty interesting. It also reminds me A LOT of Birth (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2662), an OVA directed by Shinya Sadamitsu and had Yoshinori Kanada as the lead animator.

Take a look at these:

It is even featured in that video you linked, the Kanada style animation one @3:39 (Which makes sense since this IS Kanada :p ). But you should definitely check it out. I ranks high in my "Random OVAs that turn out to be awesome" list (Not a real list)
